File Description

FM10 Ad Pack by Frank Hovis

Info
This pack adds generic league and country specific adboards to the following 9 nations
England - Blue Sq N/S and up (and cups)
Scotland - Div 3 and up (and cups)
Spain - BBVA, Adelante (and cups)
Italy - Serie A, SerieB (and cups)
France - Ligue 1, Ligue 2 (and cups)
Portugal - Liga Sagres, Liga Vitalis (and cups)
Holland - Eredivisie, Jupiler (and cups)
Belgium - Jupiler Pro, Exqi, 3rd Div (and cups)
Turkey - Süper Lig, Lig 1, Lig 2 (and cups)
+
Updated Champions and Europa leagues

I've updated some boards from the 09 pack and added a lot of new ones.
I've also added more rotator boards this time (rotators change randomly from game to game but sadly not during a game) though some leagues have more rotators than others.

This pack should also theoretically work with FM09 but some minor changes to the game code mean that some boards meant to be either side of the dugout will be behind one of the goals instead.

Installation
Unzip the rar file to..
My Documents (XP)
Documents (Vista/Win7)

Free to redistribute (credit would be nice though).

yo, man wer do i put the file so it works on my fm 10?

tommac 04/11/2009 at 01:52 PM

graphics mate make folder if you dont have one already

tommac 04/11/2009 at 02:19 PM

wont work for me help please put it into my graphics folder wont work do i need to start new game.

Frank Hovis 04/11/2009 at 05:13 PM

If you extract the rar file to My Documents/Documents it should put everything in the right place.

There should be an fm.xml file in
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\ads

and the .png graphics files should be in
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics\pictures\ads
(Documents instead of My Documents for Vista/Windows 7).

After unzipping the pack, start the game and go to preferences then click the Display & Sound tab and make sure it looks like this

then click the confirm button at the bottom before exiting the game and restarting.

tommac 05/11/2009 at 12:05 AM

did it stil no luck any other ideas.anyone else having same prob.

staddiscobe 05/11/2009 at 12:14 AM

dont work!

Frank Hovis 05/11/2009 at 01:35 AM

tommac

If you have the files in the right place and the skin options set properly then it should work, so double check everything is as it should be.
Remember that after changing the skin option you have to confirm the changes and then quit and restart the game for the changes to take effect.

I haven't tested it with Steam as I don't use it so there could be a Steam related issue but it seems unlikely.

Frank Hovis 05/11/2009 at 08:16 PM

airblower

To download click this button at the top right of the page and it will take you to a Megaupload page.
On this page type the 4 digit code into the box on the right and click the orange 'download file' button.
You will then see two more buttons below saying 'premium download' and 'regular download' (depending on the time of day the regular download button may have a 45 second countdown before it appears).
Click the 'regular download' button when it appears and then the save to disk box should appear (it may be hidden behind an ad pop-up so close any pop-up pages that appear).

airblower 05/11/2009 at 12:31 PM

staddiscobe 06/11/2009 at 12:45 AM

can we get a step by step please?

Frank Hovis 06/11/2009 at 02:02 AM

Ok, here's a step by step.

1.Download the rar file (see my post above if you need help to do this).
( If you don't have the WinRar software installed on your PC then you'll need to download it)

2.When the rar file is finished downloading, double click on it and you should see something like this should pop up.

Click the 'Extract to' button and then you should see something like this.

Now highlight 'My Documents' (or 'Documents' if you're using Vista or Win7) and then click the OK button at the bottom.
This will put all the files where they're supposed to be.

3.Start FM10 and when the main screen comes up (ie. start new game etc.) click the preferences button at the bottom right of the screen.
Click on the 'Display & Sound' tab and change the tick boxes on the right so they look like this.

Now click the 'Confirm' button in the bottom right corner of the screen and then exit the game.

4.Restart the game.

Thierry 13/11/2009 at 02:19 AM

thanks

Sandpaper 15/11/2009 at 05:03 AM

So: C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics\pictures\ads Or. Is it actually? C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\db\graphics\pictures\ads

Frank Hovis 15/11/2009 at 03:44 PM

C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\db\
is where the database updates went in FM09.
In FM10 the database updates install to
C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\data\updates\update-1010\db
so it seems to be a now redundant folder that SI has forgotten to remove as database edit are now stored in the 'editor data' folder just below it.

keithdales 15/11/2009 at 04:06 PM

this is mega! i love pukka pies!

mitchell.sam 17/11/2009 at 11:05 PM

I'm trying to make this work on a mac and am having trouble.

Right now I have "fm.xml" in Sports Interactive>Football Manager 2010>ads

and the .png files are in Sports Interactive>Football Manager 2010>graphics>pictures>ads

-When I run the game, the boards do not appear. So what am I doing wrong?

Frank Hovis 18/11/2009 at 10:32 PM

^ Last year with FM09 someone worked out that Mac's needed their own version of the .xml file in order to get the adboards to show up in the game but even with this they still couldn't get them to work.
So far I haven't heard of anyone using a Mac who's been able to get them working.

super-bjorn 19/11/2009 at 10:35 AM

I'm confussed now, in what folder do i have to put it in?
Is it:

C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\db\graphics\pictures\ads

?

Frank Hovis 19/11/2009 at 11:06 AM

No, db is a redundant folder.
Just extract the rar to My Documents if you are using Xp or Documents if you are using Vista/Win7.

wheatz 21/11/2009 at 01:20 PM

my screen gos black when i try to go into a match after installin this any ideas

Frank Hovis 21/11/2009 at 05:34 PM

There's no reason I can think of as to why it would do that.
If the files are in the right place they appear in the game and if they're in the wrong place they don't.
It could be you've accidentally deleted something you shouldn't have or a file somewhere has corrupted.

You could try clearing the cache.
Instructions on how to do this can be found in the link below.

dhemaz 26/11/2009 at 07:10 AM

@ Frank Hovis
thank you very much...

remiguss 26/11/2009 at 02:37 PM

Can't make this work, I have done everything you tell me to do, can somebody tell me exactly where to put these files. Then I can extract them and put them there manually.
When i Check Documents Sportsinteractive it look like everthing its okay.
I have windows 7 if thats important,
And yes i did this to:
I did logos, facepacks and kits like this, so something is wrong.

Frank Hovis 26/11/2009 at 07:31 PM

remiguss, to install the files manually extract the rar file to temporary folder and then put the 'ads' folder that contains the fm.xml and readme.doc files in
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010
The 'pictures' folder that contains the .png files needs to go into
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics

And if the game is running while you do this then you will have to exit and then restart the game for the changes to take effect.

staddiscobe 30/11/2009 at 03:54 PM

stil no joy here, done all the above

NiC39 02/12/2009 at 05:59 PM

my friend, can you upload "rapid".because megaupload access was denny from Turkey.thx

Frank Hovis 03/12/2009 at 01:00 PM

Sorry NiC39 but I don't have an RS account at the moment so anything I upload to RS as a free user will be killed after ten downloads and there's no guarantee that you would be one of those ten.

There is a filefront link if that's any use.
http://www.filefront.com/14871313/fm10boards.rar/

Or if anyone with an RS account wants to upload it and the post the link here that would be fine.

little budget gift ideas
For those working on a budget that's a little more modest, the ideas for great gifts of golf equipment for golfers still are many. Here are a few possibilities, keep in mind prices will of course vary:
1) A round of golf and lunch at your golfer's favorite course. This ranks about 100 times higher on the good gift idea list than just a box of balls or a full set of golf equipment, it's more reasonable than a weekend getaway to Europe on a more budgeted wallet.
2)Golf lessons from a pro. If you have a golf course around you with a pro that gives lessons this is a fantastic idea for the golfer who's trying to perfect their swing of gcallaway x-22 irons. Check with area clubs and see what kind of possibilities exist. Some clubs will offer lessons or rent taylormade r9 drivereven for those who don't have memberships, so if one club won't, keep trying.
3) Create a new golf wardrobe. Update your loved one's golfing apparel. Hit a good pro shop and look for comfortable items or callaway ft-iq driver that will make him or her look snappy while working on their game.
4)Discount golf clubs. The golf shop can offer your friends surprise gifts, maybe a taylormade r9 irons or maybe other things. choose the best Gift for your friends. No matter where your friend are, we will send your ping g15 irons gift to your friend with free shipping worldwide for you.

TobbieWan 04/01/2010 at 09:10 PM

Why do we have toi use RAR , i hate RAR files. how do i extract thse files, because i have no idea. I liked when computing was simple.

memnon 10/01/2010 at 09:45 PM

what am i supposed to with *.fnf files then?

Frank Hovis 12/01/2010 at 03:00 AM

^ There's an xml file, a doc file and a veritable plethora of png files in the rar but no fnf files.

(Google says the *.fnf extension is used by a musical notation software package called Forte, so they're nothing to do with FM).

Garno85 17/01/2010 at 10:26 PM

top stuff mate

manuforever 30/01/2010 at 01:07 PM

cheers m8 got it working perfect

greg_rfc_1 05/02/2010 at 04:52 PM

shood this work in a saved game ?

rubensnielsen 06/02/2010 at 11:35 PM

What is this ?

lillywhite7 13/02/2010 at 09:32 PM

When do the ads show up? Nothing changed for me until I ad the .xml file to the ads file in the graphics file, i.e., alongside the .png images. A generic Sports Interactive board came up in the game that runs around the field of play.

When the .xml file was simply in the SI file and the .png images in the graphics file, nothing happened.

What's going on?

Frank Hovis 14/02/2010 at 01:04 AM

greg_rfc_1 - yes.

rubensnielsen - It replaces the default SI advertising boards around the pitch.

lillywhite7 - You seem to be confusing files and folders but it appears the xml file is in the wrong place.
To install the files manually extract the rar file to temporary folder and then put the 'ads' folder that contains the fm.xml and readme.doc files in
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010
The 'pictures' folder that contains the .png files needs to go into
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics

And if the game is running while you do this then you will have to exit and then restart the game for the changes to take effect.

balcan 23/02/2010 at 07:10 AM

thanks mate..great works...

Joe_McG_88 08/04/2010 at 11:52 AM

Right, for the people still having problems please read this;

Download the file and extract it to your desktop, makes this much easier!

Open the folder on your desktop "sports interactive>football manager 2010> and now there are 2 folders, "ads" and "graphics.

Now the "ads" folder is simple, that goes to C:\Users\"your name"\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010 (simply drag and drop)

Now, here is where you have to listen, and where i notice some problems, most guys on here if they've installed face packs or anything like that will already have a grahpics and pictures folder so;

Now you should only have the graphics folder, open it to reveal the pictures folder and open that and there should be one last folder called ads. now drag and drop this file into;
C:\Users\Joe\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\graphics\pictures

So really you only take 2 ads folders, one ads folder (with the xml file) goes straight to the fm2010 folder.

and the other (with the images) goes to fm2010>grapics>pictures

I hope this helped.

I read a few comments with guys still having problems and i don't think the uploader clicked onto this ( no offence whoever it was it's an amazing pack)

tux119 24/02/2010 at 08:36 PM

Thanks for making these, they look really nice. For those having problems follow franks instructions in the second post, then it will work fine.

I tried for about two months to get this to work.

I am so thankful I kept at it.

Awesome, Frank. Awesome.

Ozwin 02/06/2010 at 07:44 AM

I think we need some instructions here, people are saying all sorts of different things.

Ozwin 02/06/2010 at 07:46 AM

I think we need some definitive instructions here, people are saying all sorts of different things.

There's no help at all in the ReadMe file and nobody wants to read all these comments to find out what to do.

Looks nice though and I look forward to getting it to work. It's just a shame there's no help in how to get them to work.

413x3 07/06/2010 at 04:38 AM

any luck for mac users?

sunqsi 4 Weeks Ago at 05:22 AM

A "cart-path-only rule" is exactly what it sounds like: Keep your cart on the designated cart path at all times. Taylor Made Burner Tour Fairway Wood Don't drive onto the grass. Golf Clubs.
Over time, golf carts speed up soil compaction, which can lead to less-than-ideal growing conditions for turfgrasses. And that can lead to less-than-ideal fairways for golfers. Taylor Made Fairway Woods So even when "cart path only" is not in effect, it's a good idea to keep the cart on the designated path. Taylormade burner superfast fairway wood review.
But when the rule is in effect, it's a requirement.
When "cart path only" is in effect, drive the cart on the designated path until you are parallel to where your golf ball rests on the course. TaylorMade golf clubs Stop the cart, get out, pull a couple clubs (so you'll have some options when you reach your ball), and walk out to the ball.
