  2. Disgusting decision. Ashley is a twat. Strong rumours that Pardew has been lined up

That would involve him traveling further north than the Watford Gap.

    No,no and once again NO

  5. Martin O'Neil or Ray Wilkins would be the ideal appointment IMO, then again with Newcastle's Chairman we will see Mark McGhee being appointed.

PS. Is Zola still unemployed? if so he might stand a chance.

  6. Lets hope Ashley sells Newcastle now so that he can't do anymore damage to them, the mans a total prick who knows nothing about football!!

  7. Ashleys a prick he was doing very good he got sacked on fm 11 got me 5 minutes before he got sacked in real life and curbishley took over lol

20 pints mate, that's what matters

Shearer for next manager? 20/1 at WH, he seems pretty comfy on the MOTD sofa. Pardew looks to be one of the favourites at the moment, personally think it would be a disastrous appointment.

I think O'Neill will get the job, i think he would do a good job at Newcastle, shocked at Ashley's decision.

If the statement from Newcastle is correct, then anybody who hasn't got shitloads of managerial experience isn't going to get the job...

so talk of Shearer, Clark (I wish), Short, etc are way off the mark...

Curbs, Pardew, Wilkins (doubtful), O'Neill, and so on are so much more likely... maybe Ashley and Keegan have kissed and made up?

    Staunton for newcastle
    Failed at Ireland
    Failed at Darlington
and soon to be failed at newcastle.

It is probably in Mike Ashleys mind atm

I am shocked. Couple of bad results, and he is gone. He will be back into management soon, no doubt about it.

They are after a 'more experienced' manager, so it has to be Martin O'Neill, the only half decent one out of work ATM

Ashley has got to go, this could cost us our Prem space if he doesn't bring someone in ASAP.

  20. Theres got to be more reason for this than on the pitch results.

Anyway, I'm just waiting for Shearer to pipe up and say "I will step in and be manager until the season ends. Stay up or go down i will resign at the end of the season"

Ashley is a massive tool. Chris was doing a great job and doesn't deserve this. There goes our season

You won't see Shearer employed by NUFC until Ashley fucks off, which is a shame since his presence at the club (at any level, not necessarily manager) would help Carroll/Ranger's development immensely. Ashley didn't even tell him that he wasn't keeping him on as intended/agreed after relegation.

  23. I'm distraught. Lost for words.

  24. Peter Reid- Its where your heading!

    • In my football, the regista - the playmaker – is whoever had the ball. But if you have Makelele, he can’t do that. He doesn’t have the ideas to do it, although, of course, he’s great at winning the ball. It’s become all about specialists. Is football a collective and harmonious game? Or is it a question of putting x amount of talented players in and balancing them with y amount of specialists? - Sacchi

Shearer wanted more money than Ashley was willing to pay to stay on, else you'd now be in League One.

Must have set is season expectations to title challenge.

Really surprised about this he was doing a good job you can't ask for too much in the first season back up.

  29. What this says to other would be managers is basically dont bother. You'll never be given enough time to be successful. Apparently he was sacked because he wasn't a big name manager. If thats true, Ashley and the people involved should just walk. They're not welcome in football. It's a disgrace to football, and the utmost disrepect to Houghton and the fans. I hope he gets another job at another top club. Then he can show Ashley and co the mistake they made.

---------- Post added at 12:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:42 AM ----------

Looks like its Pardew who's coming in

  30. You're just a fat cockney bastard...

  31. good joke there Mike.

    oh wait.

  32. Anyone hear what I just heard, that Ashley wants to cash in on Carroll during January? Just heard it on the radio. Has this guy lost the frickin plot or what?

  33. According to BBC Radio West Midlands close to a deal with Martin O'Neill, although I don't see why he'd come if it's the same style regime (if not worse) than he quit from at Villa. Also Martin Jol has just supposedly left Ajax, unknown whether resigned or fired.

  34. absolutely bemused. sacking hughton is a big mistake, selling carroll would be an even bigger one.
    feel bad for Newcastle fans.

  35. Wow, just wow.
Now Newcastle will surely go down, if they don't hire Kevin Keegan.

    Hughton for Chelsea anyone?

    Nah hes a yid lol.

  37. Would be staggered if Martin O' Neill went to Newcastle with Ashley in charge. If Ashley upped and left, then possibly, but not with that half-wit (keeping it clean lol) in charge.

Wow, would be absolutely shocked to see that.

  39. Martin Jol has already been approached I'm hearing.

  40. why? he was doing a great job.

Ashley is a tit, simple as, but I've also heard that there has been a disagreement between Hughton and some players. And with the inconsistency of results, like a win away to arsenal, and then getting DESTROYED 5-1 by bolton, you can maybe see Ashley's point of view, but even then 11th in the table in December for a newly promoted team is a pretty respectable position

Anyway, nobody can change what happens now, so I think O'Neill should take the job, I know I'm a rangers fan as well, but he done well at Celtic, and turned Aston Villa from relegation fighters, to fighting for Europe.

  42. Is Jol a good choice though? The Dutch league is quality wise, is not as good as the Premiership. And would Jol put up with what Houghton had to put up with, which was on more than one occassion, he couldn't pick the players he wanted for a match. And if Jol gets a pretty hefty contract, how will that affect the transfer kitty for newcastle, bearing in mind, Ashley said he want's to cut costs?

  43. I recommend listening to the Calderwood and Carver interviews found here and here for a bit of insight into the goings on in the club.

  44. Martin Jol has just left Ajax by Mutual Constent... Next Newcastle manager... 5/4 lol

  45. Looks like Newcastle is targeting a top 8 finish. All I say is they need to get their shit sorted and be more REALISTIC. Hats off to Hughton for doing an excellent job this season.

  46. Can't believe this. Really can't.

Did not deserve to be sacked, should have been given cash to strengthen more.

I think it's an appalling description. For the man who brought the team into the prem and up to 11th, who didn't even know every week if he had a job as he was on a temp contract they could be graceful and wait till the end of the season.
