2.it should come up with a folder named 'FM UPDATE V.5'
3.click on that to highlight it, then go to 'extract to' near the top left corner.
4.extract it to my documents/sports interactive/football manager 2009/db.

then load up FM, go to new game, and when choosing a database it should be there

If you dont understand that then your screwed lol

I understand what to do with the downloaded folder. Did that, not working...

Do I need patch 9.3.0 for this update?

How typical, the Colchester players have not been updated at all.

Edit: Things that you have missed from Colchester:

Gary Holt is a central/defensive midfielder.
Ashely Vincent is much better than what is shown on this database.
Jamie Guy is on loan at Port Vale.
Akanni Wasiu Sunday has been released.
Phil Ifil has pretty much joined MK Dons.
James Hammond and Fabian Batchelor were released MONTHS ago.
Russel Malton and Sam Corcoran are almost first teamers. Their skills and PA should show this.

Bostero123 u r a legend, guys if u can't find it on database list on new game start as bostero123 said, the folder is in a folder, so delete first folder if that makes sense

Finally! I went away for 1 hour, and there were another 15 pages of this thread to flick through looking for a download link

The download took 10mins on the second try...my internet cut out half way through the download first time!

the major transfers i know of are Lucas Barrios from Colo Colo to B. Dortmund, and Gary Medel to Boca. Also today I read about Everton's Nicolas Peric going to Argentinos Jrs. If I come across something else I'll let you know. Thanks mate
