I have just downloaded it and saved it into the db folder then extracted it, but it doesnt appear when i go to start a new game.. can anybody help?

not wanting to sound stupid but how do you get this update into the game, with the .rar file i have winzip but dont know where to extract it to any help much appreciated

It's easy for you people who arent sure what to do. You simply extract the folder/update into my doccuments - sports interactive - football manager 2009 - db, and extract it into this folder. Then you simply load up football manager, hit the new game button and you will be asked to select a database, you simply select the v5 update database and your good to go.

there isnt . was suppose to start in year2009 instead of 2008. though it kept crashing on 2010

im having serious problems, ive always been able to download all of chris's updates but im havingsuch big problems with this one every time i download it on rapidshare or megaupload its giving me a file size of 13kb and i know it should be way bigger, but also everytime i right click the file and goto extract file it keeps coming up 'unknown format or damaged file, and also says NO ARCHIVES FOUND' i dont undertand cuz i normally never have ne problems can anyone please help|??? would be very apprecitated

I started with Newcastle, did well in the friendlies but lost against Nottm Forest and drew against Crystal Palace, so not doing that well, I'm sure the team will pick up soon though, Mick Ashley is still Chairman as well, I want him out so I can get a new board in lol.

You have to extract the files to

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\football manager 2009\data\db

If you do not have steam then

C:\Program Files\football manager 2009\data\db

No just select new game and where the patches are it should say version 5 fm and author chris etc.

bristol rovers, mike green is now on loan at gloucester city and so is alex kite for the season, richard langley and liam harwood were only ever trialists at the start of season 08/09 and has never played for rovers so god knows where they shoud be now lol, we have just signed fraser forster from newcastle on loan, and rhys evans, just thought id try n help ur doing great job chris is really appreciated ur making the game alot more enjoyable for lots of fm fanatics!! cheers!!
