August - Super Start, For A Super Team

The start of the new season is here, last season was a successful season for us, a Semi final, a Final and 7th in the league. This season we aim to exceed predictions and come in the top 4 of the league.

Transfers
Luis Boa Morte - Free - Saw Luis on a free transfer, and could not really say no to making a offer, he is a great footballer with bags of experience.

Louse Saha - Free - Like Boa Morte, he is a great footballer and has players for some great teams, he will give defenders trouble at the back all season long.

Guillermo Franco - Free - A partner for Saha these 2 strikers can win us the games and maybe win us the league, who knows we will have to wait and see how they get on together.

Ibrahim Afellay - £9.75m - The 24 year old dutch winger is a great player, he can dribble up and down the wing all day and cause defenders problems, he will be a key player getting the ball into Saha and Franco.

Freddy Adu - £4m - A very good young player, there was around 5 other teams after him, the likes of Everton and Lyon to name 2 but after a good offer we got our man, he like Afellay will create loads of chances for out front men.

Guillermo Ochoa - £10m - We needed a good keeper and i think we have got a very good keeper, Ochoa is 25 and is very good at what he does, he will certainly keep us a fair few clean sheets.

EURO Cup 3rd Qual. Rnd Leg 1
Strum Graz 0 - 3 AS Monaco ( Saha, Franco, Coutadeur )

A very one sided game, we did not give them time to do anything, they tried to play there game, but we where just too good for them, we new if we got a good win in this game, when they came to us in the 2nd leg we would have a good chance of going through. The best goal out of the 3 came when Saha chipped the keeper from 20 yards out.

EURO Cup 3rd Qual. End Leg 2
AS Monaco 1 - 0 Strum Graz ( Louis Saha )

Like the game before, a very easy game for us, we controlled the game from the start they could not create anything, and when they did it was poor chances really, Saha's goal was a 6 yard tap in, but it still won us the game, that is all that matters.

Ligue 1
Bordeaux 2 - 1 AS Monaco ( Louis Saha )

I don't think we could have got a harder first game to the season, we new it was going to be hard, and it was. They did not give us time on the ball and that was the key they stopped our passing. They where the better team over the 90 minutes, Fair result.

Ligue 1
AS Monaco 1 - 0 AS Nancy Lorraine ( Freddy Adu )

A 50/50 game, and a boring game, we could have seen a 0 - 0 game, but Adu's strike on the 93rd minute gave us the 3 points, in a game that surely made people fall asleep. Apart from the goal there was nothing else going on.

EURO Cup 4th Qual. Rnd Leg 1
Kalmar FF 0 - 4 AS Monaco ( Saha, Franco, Haruna & Mongongu )

We dominated all game, Saha and Franco where super today and both got a goal, we caused them problems all day and we should of won 8-0 - 9-0 with the chances we created, Haruna's goal was the best out of them all i would say, took the ball past 2 defenders and struck the ball past the keeper.

Ligue 1
FC Nantes 0 - 1 AS Monaco ( Guillermo Franco )

Before the game, i did not expect all 3 points, they are a strong team and i new it was going to be hard for us, and it was they dominated the game from the word go, but our defense where on form today. Franco gave us the 3 points when he headed the ball in on the 66th minute.

EURO Cup 4th Qual. Rnd Leg 2

AS Monaco 1 - 0 Kalmar FF ( Park Joo-Young )

After the 4-0 win in the first game we new they would give it there all and try and get something, and they did, but we sat back and dealt with what they had to give and we saw the game out, Joo-Young won us the game when he kneed the ball in the net.

Ligue 1

AS Monaco 0 - 0 AS Saint-Etienne

They dominated us all game, and it was a very hard game for us but our back 4 and the keeper where having a good game, and they gave us the point with vital saves and blocks, in fairness it should have been 3 or 4 nil to them.

Overall
A very good month for us, with all the results we had. We played 8 games and kept 7 clean sheets, you can go wrong with that really, we are sitting 4th in the league and if we keep this form up we will surely finish in the top 4. Saha had a good month with 4 goals in 6 games showing he can still get the goals. And he will be a very important player for us.

Nice tidy layout, makes the story easier to read than the majority on FMB. Good use of images, maybe show us a few more screenshots of matches? - can be time consuming but always worth a look.

Saha looks a great buy, well played. Tough Europa group though, ouch.

Good luck with the rest of the story. I'll be following.

September - Still Going Good

Ligue 1
Olympique De Marseille 1 - 1 AS Monaco ( Lucho Gonzalez OG )

Before the game, i did not expect anything from the game, OM are a very strong team and i thought they would play us off the park. The game was 50/50 if anything we where the better team overall, but there defense was on form today. They did take the lead on the 25th minute when Brandao headed the ball in to make it 1-0, we got our goal when Gonzalez was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the ball deflected off him past his keeper.

EURO Cup Grp K
AS Monaco 1 - 3 Sporting CP ( Louis Saha )

Like the OM game, it was a 50/50 game, but they where much better in-front of goal, all there goals where very good and they maybe should have had more goals, Ochoa made some good saves and if it was not for him it would have been more for Sporting.

Ligue 1
AS Monaco 1 - 0 USBCO ( Yohan Mollo )

This game was more like us, we created good chances and controlled the game for most of it, there keeper was on from today, otherwise it would have been more then 1 goal. Mollo's goal came on the 81st minute when he side footed the ball home.

Ligue 1
AS Monaco 2 - 0 Tours FC ( Nene x2 )

Not our best game. It was a scrappy one but at the end it was 2 good goals that separated the 2 teams at the end of the game. Nene score both his goals from corners, one with a headed on the 51st minute and the 2nd with a half volley from 8 yards out. Scrappy 3 points.

EURO Cup Grp K
Lech 2 - 2 AS Monaco ( Afellay & Modesto )

We dominated the game over the 90 minute and should have won the game, we could not finish our chances tho so we had to make do with a 1 point. the best goal of the game was Modesto's goal when he struck a 25 yard shot into the top corner.

October - Still In The Top 4

Ligue 1
Valenciennes FC 1 - 1 AS Monaco ( Ibrahim Afellay )

A game we should have won in the end, both teams created chances but the chances we created where better and maybe to easy, we almost got nothing from the game, as we had to wait until the 91st minute for our goal. A penalty got us the point.

Ligue 1
FC Sochaux-Montbe 0 - 2 AS Monaco ( Joo-Young & Mollo )

We dominated the game over the 90 minutes, Joo-Young was by far the best player on the park, he caused them problems all game, he also got a goal for his hard work, a nice placed shot. Mollo also got a goal with a nice headed. Easy 3 points.

EURO Cup Grp K
AS Monaco 1 - 0 Stuttgart ( Park Joo-Young )

We needed to win this game, to have a better chance of getting past the group stages, we new it would be hard and it was, they gave us a real game but Joo-Young gave is the 3 points in the end with a lucky goal, lets just say he was in the right place at the right time.

Ligue 1
AS Monaco 0 - 2 Le Mans UC 72

Ouch. Confidence was high and we expected a win, Le Mans came out and gave us a really good game and where just too good for us, there players gave it there all and it paid of for them in the end.

Ligue 1
Stade Malherbe Caen 3 - 0 AS Monaco

Again ouch. We wanted to put the loss to Le Mans behind us with a win and we did think it would be easy. How wrong could we be, they played super today and did deserve the 3 points at the end of the day.

Ligue 1
AS Monaco 3 - 2 Olympique Lyon ( Joo-Young x2 & Coutadeur )

Well.... After 2 losses the last place i wanted to go was Lyon, they are a really strong team, so we new it was going to be hard. The players played really well and even with the 2 losses before the confidence was high and it showed we passed the ball well and played our football. A very good 3 points for us.

End Of Season - Did He Do It.?

So, like i said, i did get carried away and i got to the end of the season, so now i am going to tell you how i did in the months/games you did not see in the updates. Remember my aim was to get in top 4/5 and try and do as well as i did in the domestic cups.

So on the last update, i had just beat Lyon 3-2 and confidence in the team was high, but could i keep it that way and keep the results coming.?

So, here are the games you did not see, as you can see there was some wins, defeats, and draws. Some of the game we should have got more out of and the rest where fair, overall i am pretty happy with the game but there is still work that needs to be done.

The Europa League.

Not very happy with how it went, the game that cost us are the 2 defeats Vs Sporting and we maybe should have had more out of those games but there where much better infront of the net.

Coupe De La Ligue

Last year we got to the Semi Final so to be knocked out so soon was not very good for us, we did believe we could do it again, but it was not meant to be. Maybe next season we will do it.

Like the Coupe, we got to the Final in this last year and went out so soon again, we will have to make the team stronger and maybe next season will be out season for a cup. You'll have to wait and see what happens.

By far the best player on the team for us the season, he won us most of our games with his 19 goals and 6 assists i was very happy with him this season, and i hope he can do it again next season.

So... This season was maybe a little better then last season, but next season i want even better so my aims.

Ligue 1 - Top 3

Europa - Quarter Final

Coupe De La Ligue - Final

French Cup - Final

It will be hard but if i add 3-4 top players to the team we can do it, but then again we may not so we will see how it all goes.
