Transfer News!!
Not a lot to report. Glenrothes have made no new signings – it appears that the manager is happy with his squad. Having already spent over £3 million, he looks content with what he’s got.
One of the biggest deals involving the Old Firm was Feliepe Caicedo’s loan move to Rangers. Man City were happy to let him go for the rest of the season since he couldn’t get a game down there for love nor money! Gers fans will be hoping he brings goals with him as they look to regain the title back from Celtic.
Hearts have also signed £5 million rated Onismor Bhasera from FC Timisoara taking their total season spend to £30 million.
Glenrothes Gazette.
Europe…
Good news for Scottish football fans – there is Scottish interest in Europe in the New Year. Celtic made it through the group stages of the Champions League and Hearts doing the same in the Europa League. Rangers and Dundee Utd had failed to quailify from the group stages in these competitions, respectively.
With the influx of money in the game, everyone’s been hoping for a good European display and lets hope this will attract bigger and better players to the league.
Glenrothes Gazette
EXTRA EXTRA!!
In 1975 a group of young lads walked through the tunnel, played the game and lifted the trophy. Glenrothes were Scottish Junior Champions back in 1975.
And now Glenrothes have the chance at doing the same tomorrow, as they appear in the Challenge Cup Final. What makes the tie even more interesting, they will play holders Rangers B for the £8.5 million prize. The Glens will want revenge as the Gers knocked them out in the semis on their way to lifting the trophy last season.

Start of Season 2011/2012
Glenrothes have risen up in the Scottish football ladder, coming through two leagues in as many years. It is expected that they will battle, but ultimately be relegated come the end of the season media prediction 13th.
The Glens will be playing in the Scottish Premier League 2 this season which should attract bigger crowds to Warout Stadium. This season also brings entry in into the Scottish Super Cup with a massive grand prize of £50M. They will have to come through a tough group stage though:

Expectations are that the Glens just have to enjoy the experience of this competition. The Scottish Cup is the other competition this season the board expect the team to make it to the Fifth Round this year.
It looks as though it may be a tough year for the Glens. Playing in a higher standard of league and cup competition may not produce the standard of results that the fans are used too, but the manager is confident that a few more signings could make the difference and keep them in this league!
Glenrothes Gazette
More Signings!!!
Signed Marcinho for £180,000. Although he is getting on a bit, he is still quality:

Also signed fellow Brazilian, Celsinho for £20,000, it is thought this signing is for the future and to help the language barrier for Marcinho.

Glenrothes have also completed the capture of former Scottish under-21 Goalkeeper, Jamie MacDonald from Hearts for £475,000. Brown has touted the lad to become a regular in the Scotland set-up in the future:

And Glenrothes have also signed a loan deal for Conor Ramsey from Arsenal. Arsenal had signed the 17 year old from St. Mirren last season Ramsey has welcomed the chance of first team football in this native Scotland.
Let's take a look at the summer transfers coming in and out of Glenrothes this season:

Scottish Transfer Round-up
Lots of action again this season this Celtic splashing the cash!

There was also millions spent in the SPL2:

And here is the Current Finances in Scotland:

This are looking great already, only two years into the massive change!

Season Update
Glenrothes have been League Champions for the last two seasons but their rise to the Premier Leagues may be a step too far. The Glenrothes manager however disagrees:
Much of the squad from last season will remain, the experienced guys like McCulloch and Anderson help form the basis of the teams structure. Im glad there is some foreign flair in the squad with the likes of Marcinho I hope he will end his playing career here then turn to coach, he was loads to offer this club.
Prospects
As for the future, Conor Ramsey is an amazing talent and Im the club can secure a permanent deal for the young lad Arsenal may want over a million for him but Im sure he will be worth that. MacDonald has also been a rock in goal, hes still learning the game as hes only 24 so I think theres more to come.
Facilities
Im in regular talks with the board over the state of our facilities. My views are we need to invest in order to progress from here. Its ok having money to spend on players but if theres no talent coming through the youth setup and to the club reaches a plateau of the players it can attract then the club will stagnate. However its my job to make sure this doesnt happen thus my frequent demands. They have agreed to improve but I guess these things just take time.
State of Scottish Football
"Generally the game is getting there, although the money is there, it takes time for debts to be paid, ultimate financial security for the future is the key here. Celtic are creeping into the top five richest clubs in the world and many other Scottish clubs are in the top fifty."
Scottish football in Europe looks good this season, Rangers in the Champions League and Celtic, Hearts and Dundee Utd in the Europa League. Hibs just missed out on a place in the Europa but Celtic could do well with all their new signings.

Glenrothes 3 - 0 Stirling 29th October 2011
Marcinho(22)McCarthy(45+1)Kapo(90+2)
Another month gone and Glenrothes have picked up an impressive 5 point from 4 tough games - considering Glenrothes are relegation candidates - I think Brown will have other ideas.
Marcinho and Kapo just keep scoring, vital goals too - let's hope they keep it up and others join them.

Scotland in Europe
Unfortunately Celtic failed to qualify form their Europa League group despite many big money signings. Celtic manager has argued that they will need time to gel and the squad will be better next season. Dundee Utd and Hearts followed Celtic out of the competition after fighting brave campaigns.
Hearts and Dundee Utds profile will have been raise form their performance, just missing out on qualification by a few points.
Rangers on the other hand qualified from their group and face Celtic conquerors Juventus in the first knockout round of the Champions League. Lets hope they can secure a result at home.
Glenrothes Gazette
Transfer Update
Glnerothes have made no new signings, the manager wants the team to gel together, plus he was having trouble attracting players whom he wanted to sign:
It is difficult situation, I want to sign players with a vision of playing in the SPL1, but we arent there yet!
Celtic continued to splash the cash in January taking their total season spend to £93M!!

Many fans of other clubs fear this spells the start of a new era of Celtic domination, on the other hand this may just be the thing that Scottish football needs for European success.

This story will be ending soon as many people can't be bother to leave a post. A few words is all I ask. Some tips and pointers would be nice . But since most people are lazy, I will be too.
I will be ending this thread if there are no followers, it a shame and a lot of work has gone into this but if people are interested in boring stories about the same old clubs in the same old leagues you are welcome to it.
How can someone who starts a Man City Story with just results get more posts than this?I can't understand it. Either way I'm tired of wasting my effort!!!!

you should do a story because you enjoy playing the file and would like to share it, if you enjoy playing it then you will usually commit time and effort to writing the story well, thus members will recognise its quality and leave comments/follow.
i only post one story per fm, my cultural leonesa one. becasue i really enjoy taking this tiny spanish club to the top, i get quite a few decent comments, but tbh ill play the file and continue updating the story even if i get no comments at all, becaue i enjoy myself. i dnt care if anyone follows.
stories are about enjoyment, not how many followers you can get, its turning into the old issue we had on fm base, people spamming to get their post numbers up so they could be top of the ''whos got the most posts?'' list. now everyone wants to have the mosts followers....
lots of people look at stories and follow but dont necessarily comment.
bottom line is, if youve worked hard and you enjoy playing the file, then keep it going. dont worry so much about followers.
personally i think this a good story so far, a few nice touches like the glenrothes gazette pictures make it a bit different

Thanks Jake. I do get excited about my game and i guess I want everyone to have the same enthusiasm as I do. But I most frustrating thing about my story is that many people read it but no-one posts. I don't really care about followers, I just want the people reading to give their views cause I feel at the moment:
My story isn't good enough to get responses
No-one cares about the the Scottish Game
If I'm wrong please share, coz I thought my story would be an easy way to get to know people on here but it seems to have had an opposite effect.

OK.. I've decided to keep going with this story - I'm looking at my game atm (I'm always a few months ahead) and its looking good for Scottish football. There seem to be a few solid youngsters appearing in the game.
I've been looking at the thread and I fear it's lost a little focus - as my story isn't really just about Glenrothes - its a difference in the Scottish game with more investment. This will take about 10-15 seasons to start making a difference - just started season 4 in the game (halfway through season 3 in the story).
One thing though... how do I add a poll to this thread - I've been checking the thread tools tab but it doesn't appear there.
I want to start a poll to see what you guys think will happen:
In 10 Years:
a)Another team other than Old Firm win the League
b)European success for Scottish Clubs(Semi-finals or better)
c)Scotland qualify for a major competition
d)None of the above
In 20 years:
a)The old firm win a European trophy only
b)Another Scottish club wins a European trophy only
c)Scotland getting World Cup or Euro bid
d)Scotland winning the World Cup or Euro
e)None of the above
As for Glenrothes, there should be an update in the next few hours.

February 2012
Glenrothes still lie in playoff contention at the end of February. Many doubted the team could perform this well but the manager has always maintained his squad is more than capable at playing at this level.
League Table

The victory against Musselburgh propels the Glens into the 6th Round of the Scottish Cup - a fantastic home tie against Hearts at the beginning of March. The Glen have already entertained Hearts at Warout Stadium this season, in the Super Cup, where the managed to grab a point against the Jambos.
No matter what happens this time, the Glenrothes board will be happy with the club playing in the 6th round, which was their initial objective for the competition.

Ross County 4 - 2 Glenrothes 7th April 2012

Cowdenbeath 3 - 2 Glenrothes 29th April 2012

Two very tough away games in April saw Glenrothes fans fear the worst. The Glens have been performing brilliantly all season but it seems to be too much now we are at the close of the season. One game to go and Glenrothes have to win and hope there are no crazy scorelines in order to clinch the playoff spot.
Many fans have been quick to defend their team, stating they are very proud of what the club has a achieved so far and wouldn't be disappointed with finishing outside the playoffs. Obviously it would be great, but let's remember, the Glens where touted for relegation at the beginning of the season, so it stay in the league for another years is a great achievement!

Another remarkable season for the Glens sees them promoted yet again. Only now that they are in the top-flight promotion to a further league is impossible, many fans are joking, saying "obviously" nothing's impossible - the Glens will have their own league!! The joyous mood spreading through the fans will be felt by the player who in turn will be delighted! Well done lads!!

Good to see the Roathes into SPL 1, going to be really hard to keep them up I bet.
I think we see a team from outside the Old Firm win the SPL within 10 years. That is if they can buy smart.
