  1. Mr. Gharthouse - Strausen

    Terje Svendesen, Chairman of Rosenborg of Norway, who currently three points ahead at the top of the table has shocked the footballing world, by sacking his current manager. Chairman Svendesen did not have much to comment on only having this too say;

" It has been unfortunate in the way this as happenend, but due to a major disagreement i am reluctant to have to confirm Rosenborg have departed with there manager. He has done great things for this club, and hopfully will be successful elsewhere. However, it is in my great interest to keep this football team well known throughout the world and to enhance our reputation within European football. I have a good idea in who i want to take this club forward, and for too many of the fans and media alike, he is unknown, so please be patient and i want your full backing if i do decide to employ who have in mind"

Many of the fans are said to be angry with the Chairman, as their now ex-manager has created a club with great stature, and it is too be replaced with a relatively unknown manager with no professional experience.

Founded in 1917, Rosenborg Ballklub are a professional Norwegian football club currently playing in the Premier Division. They play their home games at the Lerkendal and posess good traning and youth facilites. The club are known as RBK and have a fierce relationship with Molde FK. Rosenborg Ballklub are one of the most successful teams in Norway, having won a total of thirtyone competitions, and are currently leading the Premier Division after fifteen games, with Steffan Iversen being the top goalscorer with nine goals in twelve games. The clubs most valuable asset is attacking midfielder Marek Sapara. Rosenborg are currently in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League, and hold a 0-3 away win against Maltese team Valetta.

    7th July 2009, is the date that could change Norwegian club, Rosenborg's history. Loyal Chairman has presented to the public, his new employee that he beleives will take the club to the next level. Heres what Svendesen had to say;

"Ladies and Gentleman, i am very excited to have to the chance to introduce to our new manager, Philip Gharthouse - Strausen. Who? You may wonder, Philip has the highest determination, who has many footballing links which will benefit us as a club. It didn't take long for me to make my mind up after a short conversation on the phone. I would appreciate if we give Philip time to settle in and make peace with his new surroundings, and he will be attending a small press conference later on in the week."

With the news and shock that a unknown manager has been named Rosenborg BK manager, fans are said to be tense and frustrated, which could allow them to let their lead slip at the top of the table.

This is the only information that has been gathered on Philip so far....

Philip Gharthouse - Strausen 33 years of age, has been offered a deal which runs out in November 2010, in where he is earning £4,300 a week. Philip is off Norwegian descent being born in Lyn, but moved to England when he was 16. This is where he began his coaching career, studying Sports Science, and Football Coaching at Hartpury College, Gloucester. He borded alone, knowing very little English, but in the two years he became very popular and had started coaching and playing football for his local team Gloucester City. From the age of 18, Strausen continued to study Football on a degree course. He passed with first class honours and left the college with a very well known person. From the age of 26 Philip moved to Blackburn and became a community football coach for local schools and colleges. This is where his love began for Blackburn Rovers, and to this day, he is an avid supporter. At thirty Philip moved to Sweden and managed smaller teams in the lower divisions. He apparently saw the news of Rosenborg looking for a new manager, and applied immediatly, and to his surprise he has been given the job.

Two days into the job, and new manager Gharthouse - Strausen is already finding it hard to take time out of his new job, to give an isght to the media and fans alike. Gharthouse, as he likes to be called for short, has introduced a new training regime for both senoir and youth players alike, aswell as signing nine scouts and four full time coaches.

Gharhouse held a small conference and these are the pick of the questions:

Interviewer 1; Many people believe that you are too young and inexperienced, too be in charge of a fotball club of this stature, and feel that you should be coaching the youth team or something of a similiar level, to introduce in how football is played over here. What do you have to say to these critics?

Gharthouse; Well sir, many people don't know this but i have been involved with football for 17 years from the age of 16. I have have coached many youngsters back in Britain and nurtured them into the professional environment. I know how the game works, and how it is too be played. I have studied the different styles that are involved in different countries. I wouldn't have taken the job if i didn't think i was capable of acheiving success.

Interviewer 2; Do you think you arriving could cause a negative efffect on the team with the performing so well under their ex-manager who left in difficult circumstances?, and also what are your plans with current players and staff, are they included in your plans?

Gharthouse; I partially agree that me being put in charge could cause a rift. But we are all professinals and should show are mental strength in why we are at the best club in Norway, and continue to please our fans. The lads need to perform well in the next match tommorrow to show me that want to play for this club, and to be honest, all of the lads have been putting in a 100% in training over the last two days. Secondly, as you can see i have brought in a number backroom staff, predomintly scouts, and this is where i can help take the club forawrd as well as building on the perfromances we set on the pitch. I am happy with the squad and staff.

Interviewer 3; Rumour has it you have bid for Slovenian striker Luka Majcen. Would it be fair to say this is true? And it has been reported that you have accepted a £5million offer from Lyon for your best player Sapara, how true is this?

Gharthouse; I'm not going to lie here, it is true, we are currently working with Interblock to complete a deal for Majcen, but that gossip about Sapara, he is going no where, i want to keep my best players to help drive this club forward.

Could Majcen be on his way to Norway?

Match day, the first professional game for new Rosenborg manager Philip Gharthouse - Strausen. He see's his side play agaisnt Maltese giants Valleta. Rosenborg hold a 3-0 away leg win and are comforatably expected to win this game.

    Pre Match Interview;

Are you nervous for this match ahead? There is a large crowd expected and they are expecting a large win, are you confident your team can excell?

Gharthouse; Of course i am nervous, this is my first game in charge, and with a crowd of over 15,000 anyone would be. However, i am extremely confident of a win today and expect big performances form the lads.

Jordi Cryuff spearheads the Valetta attack today, are you confident in your defence in keeping a clean sheet?

Gharthouse; I have chosen my strongest team today, and i haven't tinkered with the formation as the team are used to and performing so well.
RBK Off to a flying start under Gharthouse!

    RBK robbed

    Att. 5578
    Rushfeldt pen 68 Prica 14

Rosenborg performed well in terrible conditions and were unlucky not to come away with three points today. A fine team move which was converted by Swedish striker Prica in the 14th minute put RBK ahead. Although the away team contiued to dominate they failed to gain a larger advantage on the home team.
Rosenborg were made to pay in the second half when Berbatovci was to ha judged to bring Rushfeldt in the area, but it has been seen on video footage that the Tromso striker tripped over his own feet. Rushfeldt slotted the penalty to level the game ending it a point a piece.

    Prica celebrating

    Post Match Interview;

What are your thoughts on that penalty today?

Gharhouse; Of i'm diapointed with that decision because it has cost us two points, which would see us on top of the league still, however, i'm not one to moan as everybody makes mistakes, just hopefully it doesn't come back to bite us.

The fans are disapointed with the draw, are you?

Gharthouse; I'm not disapointed with the team, they have come away from home and performed well and were lucky not to get the win. It obvious the fans will be disapointed with the team, we won 13-0 a couple of days back, and now we have a bore draw, but we will battle on.

Rosenborg now lie second in the league with 33 points, a point behind Brann with two games in hand.

RBK bring in the goods and draw Pegeia

    RBK in good display

Rosenborg travelled away too Viking today, as they were hopeful to keep up their good form and keep it up with a win. Rosenborg travelled with a team not at full strength with Annan out through suspension along with Demidov and Strand missed out through injury.

    Viking 0 - 1 Rosenborg BK
    Att. 15,388
    Prica 53

Rosenborg dominated from first to last, and really should have won it by a couple more goals. Viking were lucky not to score with their only chance wihtin the first five minutes, but the crossbar came to Rosenborgs saviour. RBK Sail through

Sarajevo travelled from Bosnia to Norway, for the return leg of the 2nd qualifying round for the Europa Cup. Already 5-1 down on aggregate it seemed an impossible task, and with the Rosenborg fans expecting victory, it wasn't going to be an easy task.

    Rosenborg 4 (9) - (1) 0 Sarajevo
    Att. 18,154
    Iverson 20
    Prica 31
    Zahora 41

With the home support anticipating an easy victory, Sarajevo in all fairness put up a strong fight. It took twenty minutes to break the deadlock, with Iverson cooly slotting the ball home. Then Prica raced through to slide the ball past the Bosnian keeper. Great team work ensured Zahora also got on the scoresheet. To finish things off Dorsin scored a cracker of a goal. The game fizzed out after the fourth goal was scored, and both teams forgot that they were playing and sloppy errors started to creep in.

Dorsin after scroing a belter of a goal

    Sunderland swoop

    RBK Back to the top
Rosenborg climbed back to the top of the table, even though they have two games in hand. Their opposition was bottom of the table Valerenga, who shoudl be competeing for the title, not to stay in the division.

    Att. 20,836
    Dorsin 17 Abdelloue 65
    Skjelbred 51

Rosenborg's first home league game for new manager Gharthouse meant that a large crown packed out the home stadium. With a easy win expected, it was not the case, with RBK being pushed all the way. Dorsin scored another belter of a goal, this time from 35 yards out. Valeranga were unfortunate to go in behind, as they hit the post on two occasions. However, it was Rosenborg to have the last laugh, and Skjelbred scored a good attacking header of a flowing team move. Valerenga did manage to pull one goal back but it was not enough.

    Post Match Interview;

This win see's you back of the table, do you think you can maintain your form and stay their till the end of the season?

Gharthouse; It was a brilliant win today, i thought the guys showed real passion and fight, and they should go home pleased knowing that the have perfprmed very well ove the last couple of weeks. We are top again now, and this is how i intend it to stay.

Your strong central defender Stadsgood, has become disolusioned at the club since your arrival, what are your plans with him?

Gharthouse; He has made it clear too me, and we have agreed that if the right offer comes along, then i will not be so resistant in letting him go. We have a lot of respect for eachother, and i think to maintian a good relationship, we should be happy in the way we deal with this.

Majcen is a quality player who will only improve. I am lucky to get him at such a small price. The same goes for Drage who has a great future ahead of him. Flo i believe has the brightest potential and wil be first choice left back in the years to come for club and country. My two biggest signings are Kucka, who i think is one of the most underated midfielders in Europe, and we are very lucky to have him. My last signing was perhaps, the biggest surprise to me. Stabeak's most valuable player, and Norway's centre back has joined us, this only adds quality to the team, and he will help us achive success.

    RBK Lucky Not To Lose

Rosenborg travelled Bode/Glimit with expectation of yet another win. The home travelled with their strongest team possible, knowing that was going to be a 17 day wait till there next match.

    Bolde/Glimit 0 - 1 Rosenborg
    Att. 5578
Rosenborg were very lucky to come away with three points today, in many people's views, they shouldn't of even drew. This must shows signs of a great team if they still manage to pull victories out under such pressure. Bode/Glimit attacked throughout the whole match, and had a penalty saved by the impressive Johnsen of Rosenborg. Rosenborg looked like they had accepted they were going to get a point, that was until Prica broke through the defence and slotted home to break the home suppors hearts.

Rosenborg now lead the league by four points, but still have three games in hand, in which they could stretch the lead to thirteen points.

    RBK Internationals

Rosenborg have had a total of fifteen players called up to play their national teams respectively. This is one less than the past international break, which means Gharhthouse still has many players to worry about becoming injured.

    Norway U21 - Wangberg, Berbatovci
    Slovenia U21 - Majcen
    Ghana - Annan
    Burkino Faso - Traore

    RBK Show Spirit

It's the match the home team and support have been waiting for, the kick off of the Europa League. Rosenborg entertain strong Romanian team Steaua Bucharest. With Steaua favouraites for the win, the home team would have to be on best form.

    Prica 51 Kapetonis 1
    Iversen 71

With a sellout crowd, Rosenborg were under heavy pressure to record a home win which would put them on the front foot for the other games they face. To add to their worries, Rosenborg fielded a weakened team due to suspensions and inegibility to play, meant that only four subsitutes could be placed on the team sheet. Steaua got off to the best possible start scoring in the first minute through there lone striker. Rosenborg immediatley had a mountain to climb. To make matters worse, centre back Lago was injured off with badly bruised ribs. Dorsin was made to play out of position at centre back. Second and Rosenborg played with more enthuseism and were rewarded through Prica, scoring his 23rd of the season. Rosenborg injury crisis when onther centre back was made to leave the pitch with a messy gash to his forehead. 39 year old veteran Strand filled in at centre back. Great team spirit and with help from the fans spurred the teamon, and Iversen found the net with a loevely strike. 2-1, the boys had did it, and they managed to hold on for the three points.

Iversen can't beleive he scored the winner

RBK Fail To Make Chances Pay

Rosenborg travelled to Stabaek today, knowing that three points will guarantee them vicotry. With only a half strength team available for Rosenborg, they will need to play with real passion in order to salvage a result against a strong home team

    Att. 13,277
    Hoff 37 Sapara 54
    Aase 85

Rosenborg got off to a slow start with Stabaek showing the away team that they set out to win. They got themselves ahead through striker Hoff, Rosenborg had no reply and went into the break a goal down. The away team came out with more intent in the second half and got a equaliser with Sapara. Heartbreak for Rosenborg in the dying minutes as Stabaek took the lead through a corner. The game finished 2-1 and it leaves Rosenborg with it all to do to win the league. Incedentially, their last game of the season see's Stabaek travel to play Rosenborg.

    RBK End On A High

With results going Rosenborgs way in midweek, all they needed is a point at home to win the league. With only a half strength team available, RBK are depending on the fans to become the twelth man.

    Skjelbred 5, 70 Demidov o.g 48

Rosenborg were today crowned as champions of the Norwegian Premier Division. The second half and Stabaek gained a rare corner, and yet again the home team conceded. Sellin got his team back ahead though, much to his delight in scoring his first goal of his boyhood club. Rosenborg continued to dominate and Skjelbred killed the game off with a free kick. So, Rosenborg have won the league yet again, and hopefully the first of many under Gharthouse's guidence.

    Super Eagles Appoint Norwegian Maestro

19th February 2010, has marked one of the biggest shocks in Nigerian Football as they have appointed successful Norwegian manager Philip Gharthouse - Strausen. Gharthouse, who is still in charge of Norwegian giants Rosenborg is said to have his hands full with finding time to manage both a national team and a club team. Gharthouse has minimal experience in football managment, and the west African nation is not happy with the NFA for approaching and offering Gharthouse the job.

Nigeria recently finished a poor African Cup Of Nations finishing bottom of their group with 1 point. The nation has also failed to qualify for the world cup, and are expecting Gharthouse to make a big improvement, and make Nigeria a powerhouse of African football again.

Gharthouse did not have time comment on his appointment but his close friends are said he can't wait to this important role on. Although it has been confirmed the current assistant manager and coaches have all been sacked.

It is unclear to how the Rosenborg fans and players our to react to Gharthouse's decision after signing a new deal not so long ago.

    The Nigerian's are expectful

Odd had their own ideas and created many chances and new goalkeeper Orlund made a string of fantastic saves. RBK didn't have much to reply with and were unable to trouble the home team. The second half wasn't all too different and both teams had to settle for a draw.

    RBK Demolished

Rosenborg faced their second league match today, and it was agaisnt fellow rivals Tromso. Tromso are predicted to finish second this season, so many are seeing it as a match of the big guns.

    Tromso 5 - 2 Rosenborg
    Att. 5627
    Rushfeldt 10, 33 Faty 84
    Moldskred 66 Majcen 89
    Larsen 72
    Knarvik 90 +1

Rosenborg got off to the worst possible start with central defrender Johnsen being sent off for a two footed lunge at Rushfeldt. So RBK were down to ten men from the start. Rushfeldt capitalised on the numerical advantage and put the hosts one nil up down to a fine strike. The home kept the pressure on and scored again, through Rushfeldt. RBK were falling to pieces and had no reply. RBK managed to keep the scoreline down until midway through the second half when Moldskred scored through a corner, to send the home fans esctactic. Five minutes later Tromso found themselves in dreamland and four nil up. Much to the embaressment of the away fans, Faty and Majcen found the net late on but Tromso had the last laugh scoring their fifth late on.

This was manager Philip Gharthouse - Strausen biggest defeat since he has taken charge of the Norwegian team. It will be interesting how they pick themselve up from a match in which they wanted to win.

    Super Eagles fire a blank

Nigeria faced Eastern European team Armenia today at home in Lagos. A strong team was announced in a match they are easily expected to win.

    Nigeria 0 - 0 Armenia
    Att. 36232

Nigeria should have won today's game if it wasn't for the heroics of the Armenian keeper. Arsenal's forward Obasi looked the most likely to score and the closest he went saw he shot rebound off the post. Martins and Yakubu had their chances aswell but they failed to capitalise in which they ended up in a disapointing 0-0 draw with a team they are expected to beat comfortably.

Obasi was named man of the match

    Rosenborg 2 - 0 Haugesund
    At.. 19,324
    Skjelbred 19

    Rosenborg 2 - 0 Stabaek
    Att. 21,038
    Prica 9, 90+1

Prica got the home team off to a great start by scoring a typical placed shot which enjoyed the home fans. Rosenborg were not on top though, and were hanging on for the majority of the half as Stabaek poured the pressure on. The second half brought no change and Rosenborg looked like they want the game over. Stabaek poured the pressure on in the final minutes, but RBK broke away and Prica scored on the counter attack to break Stabaek hearts.

    Valerenga 0 - 0 Rosenborg

Rosenborg were perhaps the better team today but it was a dire 0-0 draw which , fans players and staff will want to forget about. Rosenborg did manage to put the ball into the back of the net, only to have it ruled offside.

    RBK draw yet another blank

Rosenborg faced Stromsgodset today infront of the expecting home fans, knowing that they should eaisly win againt such a inferior team.

    Rosenborg 0 - 0 Stromsgodset

Stromsgodset had ideas of their own today, showing that they are not pushovers and can match the best. Maybe Rosenborg aren't playing at their best, but they should still easily win agaisnt a weaker team. Credit has to go to Stromsgodset. Majcen and Sapara had both managed to socre, only for both goals to be ruled out for offside.

    RBK back to winning ways

RBK faced Ham Kam today at home. RBK are underpeforning in the league so far and the fans are starting to voice their opinions, so a convincing win is needed today.

    Rosenborg 4 - 0 Ham Kam
    Wangberg 7
    Majcen 28
    Prica 50
    Sapara 87

Today showed why Ham Kam are bottom of the table as the RBK smashed them for four. Wangberg started off the scoring by heading from a corner. Rosenborg continued to pile on the pressure and Majcen got the home team's second of the day. The second half didn't bring much luck to the away team and Prica got the third of the day. Late on Sapara smashed home a freekick to send the fans home happy, with pride and trust resptred back in Gharthouse.

    Wangberg happy after the game

    RBK pull out the stops

RBK travelled to Aalesund whom they have already beaten this year in the supercup final, which ended up 4-1 to Rosenborg. Aalesund are looking for revenge on that embaressing defeat, whereas Rosenborg look to continue to win and push themselves up the table.

    Aalesund 0 - 1 Rosenborg
    Boudianski 47

Rosenborg started off strongly with Majcen putting the ball narrowly wide of the post. Aalesund didn't have much in the reply of efforts on goal, but they were making it hard for Rosenborg to bear down on goal. This was until early in the second half Boudianski managed to get a shot in from distance and it flew into the net. This was the only goal of the game and it sent the away fans home happy.

    RBK going strong
Inform Rosenborg faced Brann today infront of their home fans. With Rosenborg unbeaten in six matches, Brann would have to be at their very best to salvage a result at the Lerkendal.

    Rosenborg 3 - 0 Brann
    Demidov 15
    Guastavino (og) 24
    Sapara 81
Rosenborg got off to a good start with strong centre back Demidov getting the vital first goal from a corner. More pressure from the home team saw Brann scoring a goal, agaisnt themselves much to the amusment of the home fans. Brann had no answer to the home team and conceded a third which came through Sapara.
    RBK thrash minnows

RBK travelled away to face Norwegian minnows Skarbovik in the first round of the cup. With a much weakened team announced, away fans are hoping that Gharthouse isn't too confident.
    Skarbovik 0 - 4 Rosenborg
    Sapara 49
    Sellin 54, 67, 82

Skarbovik looked pumped up for todays match, in which will probaly be the biggest game of their lives. Ande they did not diapoint aswell keeping the away team at bay for the first half. However, after a total of three changes at half time, Rosenborg turned on the pressure and Sapara got the all incisive goal just after half time. This inspired Sellin to get in on the act, and boy did he. Selling was a menace to the Skarbovik defence scoring another two goals to secure his first hatrick for the club.

Young Sellin showed his potential today

    RBK ragain the bragging rights
Rosenborg face Molde in the biggest derby of the season. Rosenborg who are in great form are clsoing the gap on league leaders Viking whilst Molde are performing inconsistantly and lie midtable.
    Molde 2 - 4 Rosenborg
    Diouf 31 Sapara 8
    Pajoy56 Prica 38, 49. 65
A packed stadium turned up to watch one of the fiercest rivalaries in Norwegian football. With a heavy Police presence, emotions were running high and both sets of supporters were eyeing a win for their side. It was however RBK who got the scoring underway with Sapara scoring a powerful freekick. Molde poured on the pressure, with the help of their fans and saw them get a equaliser through the African Diouf. Rosenborg did not sit back, and started to build pressure of their own, and it saw them score through Prica. The scorline 1-2 at half to the away team in which was a very entertaining first half.. The second half started in the same fashion and Prica scored his second of the match. It sent the away fans crazy/ This did not mean Molde were out of the game, and they got their second through Pajoy. The football was end to end stuff, but it was Prica who had the last laugh in when he got Rosenborg's fourth, and his third. The away fans were happy, as were the plyaers and the staff. A great win, from a great game of football.

    Lillestrom 0 - 1 Rosenborg
    Prica 57
Lillestrom and Rosenborg both fielded there strongest teams, with Rosenborg eager to keep up and catch Viking at the top of the table. The home team started the stronger but were unable to find the back of the net. Rosenborg had their chances too, but it took until the second half for the deadlock to be broken. It was Swedish striker Prica who got the goal, and the only goal to give Rosenborg another win and climb second in the table.

    RBK lucky
Rosenborg faced top of the table Viking in a tough encounter, which many see what maybe the turning point for the season. If RBK are to win today, then they will have a strength in depth to stay on top for the season.

    Rosenborg 2 - 1 Viking
    Sapara 85 Danielsen 29
    Wangberg 89
Rosenborg were in good spirit for this match as were the fans, and they expected a comforatable win. With Viking top of the league, it was obvious they were not going to be puchovers. It was indeed Viking who controlled this match, and they opened the scoring on the half hour mark which they scored through a corner. Viking continued to dominate the game and RBK fans watched on with grim faces as there team failed to play their style of football. With five minutes left Sapara gathered the ball on the halfway line, beat two players to score a outstsnding goal. Viking were stunned, and Rosenborg took full advantage with Wangberg scoring from a corner. Rosenborg went on to win the match, in which they shouldnt have got a point from.

    Husek made his debut today

In other news, RBK have been drawn against Irish team Bohemians in the third qualifying round of the Champion's League. Shocking and surprising news is that Kevin Kuranyi has been offered a contract by Gharthouse, but he is expected to snub the offer. Also in line is Manchester United's Gary Cahill. The central defender has been left to rot in the reserves, and the once England hopeful will do anything for first team football. If Gharthouse can pull this transfer off, he will surely gain attention from bigger clubs wanting his services. Lastly, two hopeful deals that have been confirmed are those Bachke and Wemberg of Moss. Both young players impressed Gharhouse with there performances against his team and has put a significant offer for both players it has been said.

Is England International Gary Cahill on his way to Norway?

    RBK Avenge defeat
The quarter finals of the Norwegian Cup loomed upon us today, and it see's title and cup favouraites face Tromso, at Tromso who pounded Rosenborg 5-2 at the start of the season. It is difficult to tell who will win todays ecounter.
    Tromso 0 - 1 Rosenborg
    Att. 6497
    Skjelbred 61

In a fiery cup atmosphere, Tromso had the task of beating Norwegian giants Rosenborg. They have already beat them 5-2 this year in a surprise win, and fans are hoping of a repeat. The home team got off to a good start aswell, only for striker Rushfeldt to hit the crossbar. The centre forward was a complete menace to the RBK defence but failed to convert his chances. Rosenborg had chances of their own though, but Sellin could not take advantage. It was Skjelbred though who got the only goal of the game as he lost his marker to put the ball past the home keeper. The match stayed tightly contested and it ended 0 - 1 to the RBK.
    RBK involved in record transfers

Today marked the cause of celebration for RBK supporters, as they not only beat their transfer record once, but twice. The first move was completed in the morning, and Norway's brightest talent Jo Inge Berget signed from Real Madrid for £5million. The attacking midfielder who can also play up front is said to be a major coup for Rosenborg and that they must be heading the right direction to sign a player from Real Madrid. The 19 year old has not made a international appearance at senior level, but has made 16 U21 appearances, scoring in eleven matches. Hours later, Daniel Fredheim Holm signed from Danish team Aab for a record breaking £5.5million. Fredheim Holm can play anywhere in an attacking position which adds alot of strength and depth to the squad. He has made seven international appearances scoring once. Fans are said to be proud of such players of their calibre joining RBK, and hoping for more famous names to come. RBK also signed Danish attacking midfielder Niels Morck for free as he is said to have a bright future ahead of him.

    Fredheim Holm for Norway
Probaly the biggest news of the day was that fans favouraite Micheal Lustig, left to join FC Lorient in France for a staggering £7.75million. Fans are said to be upset with losing one of their prized assets, but everyone came at a price.

Lustig playing his last game for RBK

    RBK trounce Hungarians
Rosenborg were at home today as they faced Hungarian Champions Debrecon in the PlayOff spot for a Champions League place. The first round is to be played at the Lerkendal.
    Rosenborg 3 - 0 Debrecon
    Berget 13
    Hogli 54
Berget made his debut today from joining from Real Madrid only two days ago. And it was a debut to remember as he scored only 13 minutes into it. He held off two defenders before playing a one-two with Skjelbred to tap in, to score the first. Rosenborg were bossing the match and scored again through Majcen. The second half was the same and right back Hogli scored his first for the club in a emphatic win, which will be hard to Debrecon to turn around.

    RBK fail to capitalise

Rosenborg welcomed Aalesund today infront of a expentant home crowd. Just days after thrashing Debrecon, the fans anticipated a easy win.

    Rosenborg 2 - 2 Aalesund
    Att. 20,157
    Berget 62, 75Mathiesen 32
    Roberts 57

Rosenborg got off t a good start, bombarding Aalesund penalty area, but they failed to capitalise on the chances they created. Berget and Fredhiem Holm looked dangerous, but Aalesund goalkeeper stepped up to the mark to deny the home team taking the lead. To everyones shock, Aalesund took the lead through an impressive counter track where Mathiesen finished off with a powerful shot. Rosenborg pushed on but failed to pull a goal back before halftime. In the second half, Aalesund stunned the home crowd by scoring their second. Gharthouse - Strausen made a few changes and Rosenborg poured forward to prevent home embaressment. Berget made the difference scoring from a freekick. The home fans started to get behind their team, and it was Berget who again found the net, to show why his boss payed £5million for him. However, late on Fredheim Holm sustained a torn calf muscle and was stretchered off.

    RBK pull through
Rosenborg travelled to Hungary for their away qualifying game for the Champions League. Rosenborg hold a 3-0 lead so their fans expect them to sail through.

    Debrecon 0 (0)-(3) 0 Rosenborg

    Att. 9222

A strong Rosenborg team started agaisnt the Hungarian team eho needed a large win in order to progress. RBK produced a brilliant defensive display, however it was marred by a nasty looking injury to centre half Demidov who has been in great from Rosenborg so far this season. The game finished 0-0 but 3-0 overall to the Norwegian side so they were into the Champions League proper.

    RBK fans excited
The Champions League groups were drwan today and RBK fans are said to be estactic with the group they have been handed, in where they have a great chance in where they can qualify for the second round. RBK were seeded thrid for the draw.

In the group are Austrian champions Sturm Graz, Romanian champions Steaua Bucharest and lastly, English champions Chelsea. With Chelsea looking like the only hard team, fans are confident RBK can progress into the second round.

    RBK fans want a win

Rosenborg were at home today in where they face Lillestrom. Lillestrom who are expected to be challenging RBK for the title, currently find themselves in 12th. With Lillestrom and RBK both in poor form, it could be a game to forget.

    Rwanda 0 - 3 Nigeria

    Uche 37, Martins 52, Etuhu 81

The atmosphere was positive as Rwanda were just happy to welcom such a important team with some of the biggest African stars in their team. Rwanda started off well, but it was obvious Nigeria would come out victorious. And it was Uche who got the opener after cutting in from the left shooting into the top corner. Martins got Nigeria's second after scoring a freekick, and Etuhu got Nigeria's third froma well rehearsed move.

    RBK travel to Stamford Bridge

RBK travel to Stamford Bridge for the first match of the Cbmpions League. RBK who are currently suffering a dip in form will have to produce a big performance to gain a result agaisnt Chelsea.

    Cheslea 3 - 0 Rosenborg

    Terry 5, 42 Lampard 44

John Terry, exploited Rosenborgs poor defence at set pieces as he heaed Chelsea into the lead within the first 5 minutes.Rosenborg didn't panic and put up a fight against Chelsea. Berget created many chances after he impressed surely against one of the top teams in Europe. However, a lack of concentration cost RBK the game. Another Terry header, then a fluke goal from Lampard finished off the game for the blues. In the second half it was a different story with Rosenborg matching the English team, showing they are not the pushovers everyone expected.

However, Steaua top the group after an impressive 4 - 0 win over Sturm Graz.

    Terry celebrating

    RBK continue to draw

Today, Rosenborg entertained Molde, their fiercest rivals. Today's game was sure ot be entertaining, and one in which RBK need to win. Rosenborg are now winless in five games, and the fans do not want it to be six.

    Rosenborg 1 - 1 Molde

    Sellin 87, Steen 74

The match got underway, with the fans in full voice. Both teams set out to win, and with agressive tackles flying in right, left and centre it was going to be close. Both teams were equal to eachother. It was RBK who had the first real chance but Berget wasted a easy chance to put RBK ahead. The second half got underway but it carried on as the first half. There was a total of 13 yellow cards, which showed it was not one for the faint hearted. Molde struck the first blow froma corner with Steen directing a soldi header into the net. Just as the home fans were leaving, diappointed in their team. Substitute Sellin beat the offside trap to equalise. The game finished 1-1 with home fans not happy with their teams form.

    RBK Shaken

Rosenborg travelled to Bode/Glimit looking for thier first win in 6. Bode/Glimit who are flying high and lie in 3rd place ahead of Rosenborg. With both teams needing a win, it was sure to be a cracking game.

    Bode/Glimt 3 - 2 Rosenborg
    Att. 5157

    Orlund (o.g.)13Husek 3
    Konrad 45(+2)Wemberg 18
    Berg 90(+3) Leitgeb 38 (off)

The game got off to a great start, with Rosenborg taking iniative with Husek bursting into the box and smashing home the ball for his first goal for the club. Rosenborg continued to push, but they were caught out by Bode/Glimit and it ended in RBK goalkeeper flapping the ball into his own net. Less than twenty minutes into the game Rosenborg regained the lead through a corner and Wemberg getting his first for the club. The game sorted itself out, until Leitgeb recieved his second yellow and was sent off before half time, leaving RBK with a mountain to climb if they were to gain anything out of this match. On the verge of half time, Bode/Glimit got their equaliser through Konrad. The second half wasn't as entertaining as the first, as both teams battled for possession. In the dying seconds, one last push for the home team was enough and RBK buckled, with Berg scoring. 3-2 and it was a big loss for RBK.

    RBK Smiling

Just three days after a sore defeat to Bode/Glimit, RBK face a tough away trip to Lillestrom in the Semi-finals of the Norwegian cup. Both teams want to get their hands on the silverware, so both managers are setting out for the win.

    Lillestrom 1 - 2 Rosenborg
    Att. 12200

    Kippe 5 Majcen 36
    Sellin 90

Lillestrom got off to the best of starts with them scoring in the fifth minute through a great freekick from Kippe. This put RBK on the backfoot and it seemed a massive task if they were to salvage anything. However, they started to dominate the match and Majcen scored for the away team from a fine attacking move. The game continued with RBK dominating, but time was running out. Gharthouse - Strausen looked at the options on his bench and chucked on super sub Sellin. And it was Sellin who was the hero, who bagged the winning goal in the 90th minute.

Interviewer - Mr Strausen, what a great win after such poor form recently, do you think this could kickstart the rest of your season?

Gharthouse - Thanks, and yes i do believe it can kickstart the season. Poor form hasn't helped us, nor has our luck, but we rode it today, and my boy Sellin has again come up with the goods. I think we got what it takes to win the cup, and hopefully the league, so its all to play for.

Rosenborg now face First Division team Start in the final of the cup.

Honfess are the most aggressive side in the league, and made it clear that they weren't going to be going in soft, for four of their players recieving yellow cards within 15 minutes. It was however, Berget, the young Rosenborg striker who took advantage and score a freekick. To everyones amazemnet, Claudio took the ball past three RBK players and slotted an equaliser immediatley. The entertainment didn't stop there, as Berget restored the lead within 2 minutes by scoring from a long range shot. RBK continued to dominate and Berget completed his first hattrick for Rosenborg to make it 3-1. The was played at the same tempo, but no more goals were scored. Rosenborg were back on track.

    RBK On a high

Rosenborg faced Steaua today in the Champions League. The Romanian side enjoyed a easy 4-0 win over Austrian team Sturm Graz whilst RBK lost 3-0 to Chelsea. Todays games is seen as who will finish second in the group. With Rosenborg beating Steaua twice last season, have the Romanian's come back for revenge?

    Berget (pen) 30Obolo 73
    Skjonsberg 40
    Skjelbred 44
    Faty 89
    Skjonsberg off 63

Rosenborg fans were in full voice, as they wantes a win agaisnt their Romanian opponents. Both teams started off brightly, with Steaua slitly edging as the better team. This changed when Fredheim Holm was brought down in the box, and upstepped Berget to score a penalty. Ten minutes later, Skjonsberg scored from a powerful header, which put the hometeam in command. Steaua came back attacking but were caught out by Skjelbred as he broke on the counter. 3-0 at half time and RBK were flying. The fans were estactic.

Interviewer - A great win. did you expect this?

Gharthouse - Strausen - I knew we would win today, but by 4 goals to 1, I didn't think so. A great performance from the boys, and a great goal from Faty at the end.

Interviewer - You have been linked with the vacant job at Bayer Levekusen, can confirm this and are you going to leave?

Gharthouse - Strausen - Where do you hear these reports? Bayer Leverkusen still have a manager so what are you talking about? And no! Rosenborg is my home.

    RBK In away win

Rosenborg travel away to Ham Kam today. RBK are in great form, whereas there is a great contrast as Ham Kam are currently bottom.
    Ham Kam 1 - 4 Rosenborg
    Att. 4061
    Karekezi 70 Fredheim Holm 2, 18, 71
    Berget 40

Rosenborg got off to a great start, with Fredheim Holm scoring from a tight angle. RBK continued with their great form and Fredheim Holm got his second. The home fans watched on with grim faces. Things got no better for Ham Kam as Berget got in on the act by scoring a free kick. The second half did not bring much change but Ham Kam did manage to score through Karekezi, quickly after Fredheim Holm completed his hattrick by scoring a great goal. This lifted Rosenborg up to third with four games in hand.

    RBK In Titan Clash

Rosenborg travelled to Viking in a titan clash today. Viking are top of the table, but Rosenborg are biting at their ankles with four games in hand. If Viking win today, then they surely will be favouraites to go on and win the league, but if RBK were to win, then its game on.

    Viking 1 - 2 Rosenborg

    Danieslen 69 Kucka 5
    Majcen 64

A massive game today in the league, with each team wanting to win the league. The corwd was loud, and the atmosphere was tense. It was Kucka, Rosenborgs hero of the moment who stepped up to the challenge, breaking through the defence and scoring a great goal. His first for the club. The away fans went mental. The first half was played at a fast tempo but niether side managed to test each goalkeeper. The second half was the same, but it was young striker Majcen who got the all important goal. He slipped the ball past the centre bakc and fired home. Surely the game was won! It was a tense last wenty minutes as Viking pulled one back, but it was not enough. Rosenborg had won the all important game and now they were expected to catch and overtake Viking.

    RBK Flying high

Rosenborg were again on the road and today they faced struggling Haugesund. With RBK beating Viking, they were easily expected to beat the home team.

    Haugesund 1 - 4 Rosenborg
    Att. 4054

    Sorum 15Majcen 8
    Fredheim Holm (pen) 31
    Johnsen 50
    Gauseth 71

Rosenborg got the ball rolling nice and early with Majcen scoring from a set peice move. The young Slovenian striker has impressed of late and has been attracting attention from Rangers and Celtic. Sorum ruined the party though as he scored a belter from 30 yards. It didn't take long for RBK to restore the lead as Majcen was brought down in the area and Fredheim Holm slotted the ball home. The first half fizzled out as did the start of the second half. Johnsen got RBK's third through a header, and late on Gauseth got his first for the club and Rosenborg's fourth to complete the rout.

Rosenborg currently lie in second place 2 points behind Viking with 4 games in hand.

    RBK Happy for Prica return

Rosenborg fans could relax today as they were to play their first home league game in over a month. Their opponents were Bode/Glimit who narrowly beat RBK earlier in the season. With Rosenborg in 2nd place, and Bode/Glimit it was sure to be a deciding match.

    Rosenborg 2 - 1 Bode/Glimit
    Prica 62Stensland 42
    Sellin 87

RBK kicked off the livelier team, but failed to make any early chances count. As time went on, Bode/Glimit fought thereselves back into the match, and in the 42nd minute, they got the goal they deserved. This knocked the confidence out of RBK who would have it all to do. Midway through the second half, much to the fans delight, Prica was brought on. This was his first game in over three months due to injury. His impact was blatent from the start, as he scored with his first touch, slotting the ball into the net. The fans went into raptures. With only 5 minutes left, Strausen brought on super sub Sellin. And he did his magic as he scored. A brilliant second half display had earnt Rosenborg a valuable win as they moved joint top, but still have 4 games in hand.

    RBK Leave it late

Rosenborg travelled to Austria in where they face Sturm Graz. Graz who are currently pointless in the group will look to use the home advantage to their help them.

    Sturm Graz 1 - 2 Rosenborg

    Lazic 21Majcen 29
    Berget 81

Graz started very strongly pinning Rosenborg in their own half. The pressure eventually paid off when Lazic poked the ball past the RBK keeper. Rosenborg picked themselves up well and replied through Majcen scoring a brilliant team goal. As the game time increased, so did the errors. As it was looking like a draw, Berget popped out of no where and scored a vital goal for Rosenborg. A 2-1 win was what Rosenborg needed. The win leaves RBK second in the table ahead of Steaua and Graz, but three points behind Chelsea.

    RBK Good value

Rosenborg travelled to Stromgodset and a win would see them go top with three games in hand.

    Stromgodset 0 - 3 Rosenborg

    Demidov 6
