  1. Need good players to play short passing/possession football in BSP,BSN or BSS leagues

Has anyone found good cheap players or free transfers (ie Bargains) for the lower leagues that can play short passing/possession football?. without cheating in the editor or signings a load foreign players from Reunion!. And what attributes do you think need to look for?.

  2. Don't bother playing beautiful football in those leagues. A rigid 4-4-2 got me to the League 1 (save still in progress) with Chester FC from the BSN.. I tried it and you'll get really annoyed because the players just aren't cut out for it and you'll end up giving the ball away in defense and conceding stupid goals

Don't be defeatist!, there most be way to play that way, in real life Brendan Rodgers manage to get Swansea City to play like that with no superstars. I think you just need to be patient with the team to learn formation & tactics, and build team, train them the way you want play?. The counties around the world don't think that!, that's probably why the United Kingdoms club & international teams can't play possession football (keep ball not lose it!). Just look at England international team they can't keep possession even if have it reply on it to save there lives!, that's at highest level. So don't use division level as reason not playing not way, because at lower league team in Spain or Holland (Netherlands) etc would probably keep possession better than UK clubs at same level as they are?.

Bit of a difference between a Championship team and a BSP team, but yeah fatal is mostly right.
You can play nice possession football in lower leagues it's just you will suffer from players trying silly passes or messing up good chances. That's why a lot of people who play lower leagues tend to stick to more rigid formations and a more direct counter football.

  5. Swansea played like that when they were in league 1.

It's a test how good manager or coach you are?, I bet F.C. Barcelona had problems in early stages setup there system. I would probably advice myself to try to employ good coaches & assistant manager or maybe even a director of football/head of youth development would help me teach the players system?. P.S. We do need change mind set of players, managers, coaches and even fans in this country!, change your thoughts that you have be good to pass a ball to a fellow player only one yard way. Only difficult thing is teach them movement to make them self's available to receive ball from another player (THE EASY PASS) ie triangles!, pass & move etc. Don't forget Arsene Wenger at Arsenal has change Arsenal style of play with Youngsters!. Also don't forget other countries play on rough playing surfaces not like English premier league stars that play on snooker table surfaces, that's how learn ball control (first touch & technique) & composure on the ball!.

That not quite correct!, Roberto Martinez did set the foundations, then Paulo Sousa continued to try play that play with not much success, than Brendan Rodgers took it up a different level more tiki-taka possession play. And now Michael Laudrup has change them to more direct in the final third, that's why they scoring more goals this season!. And if look and study Roberto Martinez style of play at Wigan not quite tiki-taka (F.C. Barcelona/Athletic Bilbao/Spain) style football!, But yes he's still tries to keep possession!. But also Roberto Martinez did take Swansea from League Two up to Championship before left to go to Wigan!. Maybe you could back as far as 1996-1997 season Jan Molby was the manager (he played for AFC Ajax/Liverpool & Denmark), both Ajax & Liverpool played a passing possession style play in the eighty's & Denmark has always played 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 style like Holland (Netherlands). Don't forget Johan Cruijff with his playing days & coaching days at Ajax, Barcelona & Holland (Netherlands) influence the Danes like Morten Olsen & Michael Laudrup well as Spaniard Josep Guardiola with his (Dutch total football style)!. I'm showing my age now aren't I?.

Martinez changed Swansea into a free flowing attacking passing style of play then suspect created the rock solid defence and them Rodgers took the two parts and made a defensive, possession passing style of play. And now Laudrup has reverted back towards the way Martinez made Swansea play.

I've been thinking about this & maybe need look at the mental attributes of players at this level & not their technical attributes, ie composure, anticipation, off the ball , positioning & teamwork also maybe work rate & determination ?. Maybe with work rate, determination they will learn system quicker?.
