Tony Mowbray quits Middlesbrough
Tony Mowbray has decided to leave Middlesbrough just after taking to the club within 30 goals of the playoffs last season. Middlesbrough only lost out to Birmingham in the fight to the playoffs via goal difference and Mowbray has said he feels it is the right time to leave. Middlesbrough first team coach Stephen Gibbs has been promoted to the manager's role on an interim contract until the end of the season.
"To manage a club like Middlesbrough is a priviledge and I am pleased the chairman has trusted me with the position. I know the club well and I am looking forward into powering Middlesbrough to the Premier League and beyond. If I can of course."
