No worries mate. They're a tough side to manage since pretty much all they have is potential.
Keep the moral high and try to avoid loosing. Draws are not the end of the world as you've seen in this story

    Next Update: 2014/15 Liverpool Squad

  4. Looking forward to new season, glad to see you got the best out of countinho, i never managed to get him to gel. Had to sell him, even though he is was of my favorite LFC players.

  5. Brendn what happened with Wilshere?I believe you have enough funds to sign him.
    Thank you for selling Reina!
Ter Stegen and Alonso are top transfers!
The stadium expansion will boost income.
brilliant job so far keep it up

Hahaha, sounds like you've gotten quite invested in this save!

    Sound man though. Thank you.

Wilshere: Arsenal wanted 53M for him and that's not factoring how much his agent fees, bonuses and signing on fee. Could have cost me 60M+ so I left it. I was hoping he would submit a transfer request to drive down his asking fee but the kid must have a girl in London, he aint coming to Liverpool

Reina: Not as solid a keeper as he used to be. 10M is a great price for him and he gets to go home to Spain: Win, win!

Ter Stegen came available after a scout said he might be available for around 8M. I unsettled him and he said he'd be interested in a move. Managed to get the fee down to 6.7M

Alonso: I'm a Liverpool fan, I don't need to explaine why I brought him back to anfield!

Stadium Expansion: I needed to make sure I got into the Champions League to cover the costs. 7.5M is expensive when you've only got no European football.

Active leagues: Argentina, Brazil, England (Prem' + Championship), France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Russia, Scotland and Spain.
All Nations have only their top division active.

Ouch. Sacked in December. What did you pick for your season expectations?
I always go with Europa League since 4th is bloody hard to get and not a safe bet.

The 5 year plan: year 2

"2014/15 Season Two: Finish 1st-3rd, reach a cup final, develop youth facilities + training facilities.

I'm targeting an automatic Champions League place and want get into a cup final; obviously I want to win but I think getting back to that stage is more important!
I also expect 2-3 Reserve players to have made it into the first team squad.
Using the Champions League TV money, I want to invest in the training facilities and Youth facilities to try produce some Local players."

    Season Aim:
3rd place. After last years 4th place finish, I feel that an improved defensive display this season could help us gain automatic Qualification to the Champions League.

I reached last years FA Cup final but lost to Everton, I'll be targeting the same again for this season, FA Cup final.

Jordan Ibe, Jordan Rossiter, John Flanagan and Jack Robinson all made it into this years first team squad.

I've started expanding the Stadium and should seat roughly 51,000 for the start of next season.
Training and Youth Facility upgrades are due for completion on 15th, October, 2014.

There was nothing to choose from between Lucas, ter Stegen and Sakho but I felt
Lucas was the consistent of the 3 players. He played his part and was a rock
at the heart of my defense, playing just in front of my back 2.
He and passe the ball very well and scored the vital away-goal in Lisbon

A the moment, his moral is terrible because I didn't let him talk to City.

Once he decides to get off his ass and commit to the club, he'll be banging them in again from me I'd say.
He scored 21 for me last season (20-League; 1-Cup)

His role is not that important, it's the men behind him that you need to think about.

I try to have two creative rolls playing balls into him, Coutinho playing as a F9 beside him and Gerrard/Henderson passing from midfield. I play Suarez as either a Trequarsta or an Advanced forward (depending on how deep my line is)

Aye, he is a Red as far as I'm concerned. I was gutted when we sold him as I'm a huge fan of him.
Hendo', Allen, Shelvey and Rossiter will be this clubs Center Midfield for at least 10 years.

Jonjo: his PPM's "Dictates Tempo" + "Comes Deep to get he ball" makes him a good CM(s) or a Deep Lying Playmaker(s). He would also play as a safe-minded ACM since he'd be dropping back and not leaving the middle of the pitch exposed to counter attacks.
I see him playing the same role I've Gerrard and Alonso playing for me: deep midfield support to spread the ball wide and keep the attacking moving forward.

    Marc-Andre ter Stegen

The 22 year old German Keeper made himself a firm, fan-favorite this month.
Not only did he keep a clean sheet against Chelsea; he also limited Spurs, City
and Newcastle to 2 goals between them. With a string of solid, consistent performances and
breathtaking last ditch saves, this guy seems to be the answer to
    Liverpool's long-term goalkeeper question.

My hard-drive got whacked last night. power went out suddenly while I was doing a disk-check: turned it back on a few hours later and the hard-disk had failed so I lost this save file.

I've a back up on another computer but it's about a month behind so the most recent update is no longer valid. Won't be able to play again till tomorrow though. Sorry for the delay lads.

I'm a fecking I.T. administrator and everything, I should have trusted my instincts!

The Backup in on my work computer so that's handy. Though September will be hard to replicate; some good results I had there. Hopefully Alonso wont be injured anymore

Not at all trying to brag mate, I haven't ever managed Liverpool and have seen people say it's one of the most difficult among top teams to manage, I just thought he could look into tactics, My bad. That was a comment with poor tone.

Aye mate. I've seen you around the forms and you've always seemed keen to help out so I didn't take anything by it. Last season I conceded way too much but I was blooding the youth and had some horrible luck go against me.

I know my tactics but Liverpool doesn't have the players to truly dedicate to a system as they leave vital points week. I've already addressed the issues I saw last season; my defense, and I've seen big improvments.

Just in future, unsolicited criticisms on tactics should be left to Pm's.
I didn't ask for any advice, nor do I feel I need it. I've watched every minute of every game I've played in this save and I know where the issues are. I'd have opened a thread to ask people to help me if I felt my tactics were in dire need of improving.

I appreciate where you were coming form though.

  42. I wasn't trying to help in tactics directly, just thought you could look at some parts of it, my bad. Apologies, again. English isn't my first language so I do tend to blip up a bit at times.

I'm struggling to see how a 4th place finish a poor league result. (we were expected to finish 5th)

Everton, City and United were in great form. I lost less games than those three (expect United, who lost 1 less.) I finished as the highest scoring team with the best passing completion rate in the league. Suarez was the leagues top scorer (21) and Coutinhio made 17 assists and 16 goals. The only real issue was my defense and I've been addressing that this season.

Don't just look at the results mate. They only tell half the story.

That's good to know, not many actually take the pain to watch matches and see where the errors are. And tbf, defending since this patch (14.2.x) has been pretty poor. Defenders at times are like sticks, opposition players can pass through them with ease. It was reasonable before. A'ight, no more off topic or sort of spamming in this thread from me, mate. Only on topic.

Wow, have to say it is impressive that you are viewing the whole match! shows commitment!

    I'm a Liverpool fan.
I genuinely get upset when I loose a game and feel like I need to see everything to try win the matches.

Every-time I loose to one of the great rivals (United or Everton) it's almost save ending disappointment for me!

  47. haha i i see where you are coming from, If i am doing under par with them myself my day is sorta ruined and i will be slightly mad about it all day

I don't know why, but October is proving a difficult month to motivate myself to play through. Trying to just bite the bullet and get the month out of the way. Hope to have an update out soon lads.

Her's something to watch while I summon the motivation to put a grueling month behind me.
