Page 3 of 5 FirstFirst 12345 LastLast

  1. Pompey

  2. I've wanted to start a long term save since the update, but I just can't decide who to be. However I've narrowed down my options to the below:

    Shakhtar Donetsk
    AC Milan
    Copenhagen
    PSG
    Nurnberg
    Basel

Who should I be and why?

    Cheers guys!

  3. Sheff Wednesday, Bolton or brentford, and why?

  4. I like to play in Liga BBVA and always picks teams that have mid table prediction to make it more challenging in FM16 I usually Espanyol

  5. The league you prefer premiership
    The finances okay and up
Facilities for training/youth good at a minimum

looking for a team with a following, not Newcastle or Everton though.

  6. How about Norwich?

  7. Looking for a club:

    - In League 2/Conference
    - Good history
    - Only for the short term before moving on

  8. Manchester United or Dortmund???

  9. hi guys.im thinking of doing a challenge similat to la masia story where i take a big club and take them forward using only regens/players from youth team.Im a man utd fan so was thinking of using them as havent been them for a while.Any ideas on who else this could be fun with?

    • Tom Tucker: A bit of breaking news. A local family is forced out of their home by ghosts. Who are they gonna call?
      Diane Simmons (sighs): Ghostbusters, Tom.
Tom Tucker: No, Diane. Their insurance company. That's just stupid what you said.

Go for a team which has absolutely no pedigree of bringing through youths for a big challenge.

A really fun challenge would be Ajax or Anderlecht and try winning a champions league as it would be a constant battle to hold onto their talent.

  11. Yes mate that does sound like it could be fun.was ajax years back so maybe them but anderlecht is very appealing, thanks

Good idea man...could be a good long term save best of luck with it!!

  14. yeah i reckon it will be fun, thanks mate.Only thing im unsure on is whether to stick to youth team or be allowed to sign under 18s from abroad.what u reckon guys?

Make the rule that you'll be allowed to sign 2 youngster outside the club each season That's what I'd do

  16. Hey guys, how are you ? I finally have some time for FM and don't really have idea which team to lead. I am thinking about some mid table predicted from top 5 leagues which have players suitable for 4-1-2-3 formation with IF's. I really can't decide.

  17. Have started a save with ajax, trying to develop touth rather than buying from outside apart from a couple of u18s.Just wanted to get everyones opinion on what is the key ingredient to making a save with a big club interesting?have been wanting to manage man utd as they are my beloved team but always seem to think its too easy, even if only using youth

  18. Looking for an Italian team with good youth, want quite a long term save so needs to be a challenge

  19. Recommend me a team

I just won the Premier League with Nottm Forest in 2022, I really love the club story and the Brian Clough's saga, one of the greatest, in my opinion. Unfortunately, the team didn't grow as I expected, the transfer budget are always in the 20 million region and I can't pass the 30.000 people on the (new) stadium and I'm bored right now.

    What I need:
    - Club with a good history
    - Good fanbase but with a great possibility of expansion
    - I have a preference for european english speaking country or that most people can undestand english, but that's not a deal breaker
    - If possible, with a history of inclusion and that fights racism and don't tolerate that kind of behavior

  20. Wich Team Should I Be?

    Hi

    League: No England
    Finances: Great
    Facilities: Can be improved

I'm searching for a team with a nice transfer budget that allows me to buy a few players. Not a top table team but a mid table is prefereable. I just want to start a save with a team that permits me to do plenty of transfer business during first summer transfer windows. Thanks

    Middlesbrough?

  23. Preferred league: Championship
    Finances: Good
Looking for a team to get promoted first season and be given big budget in the premier league to achieve champions league 2 years max

  24. Guys, I totally recommend you to try OFK Beograd. They are predicted to finish last (16th) in the Serbian 1st division. They have outstanding youngsters in the u19 and the B team and most of their first team players are under 23. 2 of their best players are 17 years old!
The team is also based in Beograd, the city of Crvena Zvezda and Partizan, and therefore you have a challenge to become the dominant power in the city and the country.
I was extremely impressed with their young players. They have over 20 youngsters with 4-5 stars potential

  25. Trying to set up a Diego Simeone-style narrative in a league dominated by a team/set of teams. Not England or Spain. Decent transfer budget and youth set up, allow me to play a defensive 4-4-2 of mean bastards. Fallen giant or one of the bigger teams in the major Euro leagues.

    Porto or Benfica?

  27. I WANT A NEW CHALLANGE

I never tried San Marino challange and even Andorra Challange... Maybe i can try it, but do u know anything else?!?

No-name team, no history, no trophy ever taken, no legends, icons, even favourite personnel?!?

  28. Hey, after playing with Parma and Leeds, I am looking for a new carreer? Which one is the funest? Stuttgart, Biblao, Nottitgham Forest or a club that I created, FC Portswich, which is a rival club of manchester, like a FC United of Manchester but in Sky bet championship. If you have any other fun carreer, tell me .

    - I prefer top-5 leagues but I don't care if that team all somewhere else.
    - Don't need to be big budget just couple players in the team if that is needed
    - I don't care much about facilities(you can always upgrade them)
    - And if possible mixture youth and veterans.

ps. I was some strange reason ignored last time I asked so it would be nice if you try help me this time!
Crystal Palace? 13m budget, decent squad. Midtable predicted

  32. Hello,
I desperately need a new save, I've recently managed in the MLS, BPL, Superliga, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1, so as you can see I've been around. Sadly I haven't found a save that would stick.
The club needs the following, if possible:
    Solid youth setup
Good youngsters ready to play 1st team
Players capable of playing in a possession based tactic
    Bunch of homegrown players

My favourite club is FC Barcelona, so would like to create something similar to what they had 3-4 years ago
    Thank you in advance

Sure, Ajax is the easy way out, but I fear that it'll get too easy too soon

i see what u mean mate.i won eredivisie and dutch cup first season easily with young players.Luis enrique sacked so i applied for barca on the off chance not expecting to get it but they offered me the job.Have that barca save but not sure if i will carry on with it as prefer a challenge.May do a youth only save, try win everything for 3 seasons then move on.what u think hansie?

    Might give it a go

  37. I am interested in doing something completely new like trying to conquer the old Yugoslavian nations or conquering S-America, doubt I will go through with it tho.
I'm more inclined to taking over an exciting mid table team or a almost-there big team, like Fiorentina or something. Don't want to wander around saves trying to find the right one.

I have considered managing Southampton, but since I've already tried them and the BPL, I want to try something new...

Ive been considering two similar saves myself hansie, the two teams i have in mind right now are sporting lisbon and marseille. As a man utd fan(dont hate me lol)ive toyed with the idea of starting in portugal ala mourinho and making my way to the bigger leagues but with teams that are struggling a bit.Youth will be a the centre of things wherever i go.

    Maybe Wimbeldon?
You can build your own youth academy at whichever club you decide to go to - just select the relevant choices in your philosophies agreement with the board and sign up coaches and scouts with a strong Working With Youngsters attribute. I'd choose a club with a decent sized stadium and at least OKAY finances, so you don't have to re-build the stadium as you hopefully move up the divisions. Milton Keynes Dons, Sheffield United or Coventry City, for example.

It makes the board more reluctant to accept improvements in youth facilities, scouting and so on

  44. More for FM17, I'm looking to manage a team outside of England, I always manage Man Utd (supporter) or a lower league team and bring them up. I really like to develop youth and play attacking football.

    Criteria:
European competition with at least 1 Champions League spot.
    Strong Youth setup/development.

Any club or competition suggestions and why?

AFC Wimbeldon is a big challenge, I'm slowly doing a save with them. They have virtually a zero budget for a few years. I'd look at a Sheffield team or Portsmouth.

  46. You should try managing in Scotland? Maybe restoring Aberdeen or Dundee Utd to their former European glory.

  47. Okay guys,im in pre season of my second year with schalke who have some great youth, finished runner up to bayern 1st season.problem is ive been offered liverpool and arsenal jobs and need some advice whether i should move on or stay?arsenal finished 3rd in bpl and runner up in champions league and liverpool finished 9th.west ham and everton jobs also available.advice greatly appreciated asap

The best youth setups right off the bat are Ajax, Porto, and SLB.
