How can you rectify the situation with assisstant saying

''The gap between attack and midfield is far too big and the supply from midfiels is getting nowhere''

Likewise with ''gap between modfield and defence is too big and can be exploited.

Always find it with no direct linked players in the areas for example 4-3-1-2 and 4-2-3-1 etc

Any help to stop this happening asked many times and no answer has worked, need a pro please

1) are you winning each game?
2) are you winning but conceding too many?
3) are you losing and think that this is the problem area
4) are you just inquiring as that is what your assistant manger says?

AM's and other staff members are most of the time wrong :) take everything they say with a pinch of salt...

what formation are you playing? is there a gap and are the opp exploiting it, if so.. put a DM in place or make both Cb's Stoppers to push up and cut out the play! or make your Cm's a ball winner and a DLP that drops deep (Cabaye/Carrick) type role to assist with covering that gap :)

I don't have enough information to give an accurate answer but I'm guessing you're playing rigid football? It just sounds way, way too rigid though if you're getting a message like that.

A few things here: Is one of your cbs playing higher up than the other? They should be (cover stopper duty normally a good combo). IS one of your fullbacks on a support/ attack duty? If this isn't the case change it. That should give you more link up play between the midfield and the defence WITHOUT using a link up player in the DMF slot

Similar situation can be made to happen between the midfield and the attack without needing an AMC link up man. Have a DLF to drop deeper than your main goalscorer and likewise have one of your MCs on defense duty and one on attack duty.

I've kinda taken these guidelines thinking how to make a rigid 4 4 2 formation play between the lines a bit more.

1)Probably draw too many
2) Conceed at least on a game
3) Yes this seems to be an issue, have good poseession etc

Ok get the dropping a player to the position but whta if they high up the field and want that formation? ie 4-2-3-1
Also will just changing the roles of the players work?

Not playing rigid, balanced or fluid
Got stopper cover, fullback on support

Ok the main issue is it seems the lack of cover for the forwards to link or the modfiled to cover defense, so as i said to Raikan is just a role issue or is it how high im playing

My assistand manager tells me a have a gap between the defence and midfield but this is something that I jave created on purpose. I tend to let the opponent play a ball into that space but as i have really good MCs and agressive DCs, we soon retrieve the ball and start a quick and direct counter attack, often outnumbereing the opponent. So in my view, this is a leathel weapon to drag an otherwise cautious opponent upfield and out of position :D

So my assman is correct is saying that the opponent " might be able to exploit " this space, but in reality, they are not able to benefit from it as we just too good at what we are doing

So is it do able to have two stopper CDs and Def BWM to counter any threat ?
Other end of the scale up front need AM on ATT to push forward?
