VLADIMIR WEISS IS SACKED!

Vladimir Weiss has been sacked by Slovan Bratislava board. After coming up short in the 2010/2011 season, Chairman Kmotrik has decided to part way’s with Weiss and find a replacement to return this team to the glory day’s. Favorites for the job are Lubomir Reiter who is currently in charge of Tesla Stropkov, Ivan Galad who is in charge of the U-21 Slovakian team but odds maker’s are currently betting on a low key manager to take the team forward.

CUB BLACKWELL NAMED NEW SLOVAN BRATISLAVA MANAGER!

Cub Blackwell has been appointed new manager by Ivan Kmotrik, Chairman of the board at Bratislava. I can say with some certainty that no one saw this coming as this will be the young American’s first venture into management. Blackwell did however play the game at a high level with Southampton FC in England coming through the youth academy and playing there for 6 years before hanging up the boots after a gruesome knee injury. He does however have some coaching experience as he was on the staff at Southampton as a coach.

PLANNED YOUTH FACILITIES WORK

Jan Svehlik today announced that Slovan Bratislava have plans in place to improve the youth facilities upon the request of new manager Cub Blackwell. After negotiating into his contract that the team find a parent club and that the club improve upon the youth facilities at the club Chairman Ivan Kmotrik has worked those terms into the contract of the new man in charge.

BLACKWELL SEEKS BALANCE

Cub Blackwell faced the media for the first time today as the Slovan Bratislav boss attended a press conference to announce his new role. Blackwell fielded a range of questions such as the new job and his transfer policy from The Slovakian Football Daily, The Slovakian Gazette & Goal.com.

A journalist from The Slovakian Football Daily chose the main focus point of the press conference, asking “what would you say is your tactical approach to the game?”

Blackwell’s response was “we need to make sure we have a balanced approach. It is little use having a brilliant front line if we can’t defend a lead.

Peter Stepanovsky was the only other player who didn’t seem to be apart of the future at Bratislava with Blackwell said to favor the 4-3-3 with ball controlling midfielders. He will be moving to KamAz for 250K effective immediately.
