Sorry to ask this trivial question.. but I couldn't find the answer using the search engine.

So my question is when (or how) the value of a player changes.

I just started with FM and am half through my first season and a 20 year old player (Dragovic of Basel) has already increased from having 3 to 4.5 stars. He's also the player with the best rating in the whole league right now. He's also the top scorer in the league, and that as a central defender (???), because he scores so much after corners. Despite all this his value hasn't gone up since the start of the season. So when does his value adjust? Can't be that he isn't worth more than 1.4m€ right? Also when I look at the profile of Shaqiri he's valued at 1.8m, even though Bayern has already bought him for 12m (this transfer is already included in the FM), so the value should be 12m no?

Depends on how long they have on their contract and stuff like that

I think is down to their performance, ability, and age. Pretty much if the player well really well for the season, his price tag increases, if not, it does down. it varies with age though

Depends on what league you are in, how well they do in that season, and their age.

For example in my San Marino (club in Italy) save I had a guy valued at 32M and stayed there (he was top 5 scoring in the last three years) and was 25. When he was 26 lead the league and shot up to 36M. When he was 27 blaze through the Italy league and went up to 42.5M.

Another league I am playing in the San Marino league. Most of the teams are Amateur and mine is acutally professional. I got a guy for free and was valued at 400K. Had a break out season. His stat's weren't amazing by all means, although against the league he was basically like Messi in MLS, and was the top goal scorer and assist in the season. By midway of the next season he was listed just at 700K but some big team came in and bought him for 4 million.

Basically if you play in smaller leagues and have a good year you can rack up the money. Buying free's and then selling them for at least a couple of million (depending on how small your league is at the time and if they are professional. Once they all get professional I can easily sell guys for 20 million after like 2-3 years on the team for free). As for a big club in a big league like ELP you have to either win awards or dominate the scoring charts if you want to make money.

Ok thx for the answers! Guess I have to be patient and win the league and hope he gets an award:)
