David Sullivan: "Thank you all for gathering here this afternoon, we are here today to unveil our new manager, someone who has a bright future in this game and is a bright, young mind with wonderful idea's. He will bring a breathe of fresh air to a club that really need's it. With that being said I would like to introduce Mr. Jeremiah Walsh as the new West Ham manager."

Jeremiah Walsh: "Thank you Mr. Sullivan, I certainly appreciate the opportunity to move this club forward and back into the EPL where we belong. Let me just say before we get started that I have no intention of staying in the Championship beyond this year, the next step this wonderful club has to be getting right back into the Premier League this year, that is our goal this year, simple and plain. Now, question?"

Chris Stapleton (K!ck Magazine) "Jeremiah, welcome to England and to West Ham in particular, how excited are you about this job and is this a dream come true?"

Jeremiah Walsh: "Thank you for the warm welcome, I am beyond excited to be here in England and I'm even more excited to be appointed manager of such a wonderful club here in West Ham. I can't wait to get started."

Johnny Liggins (The Sun newspaper) "Jeremiah, you arrive as the replacement for "big" Sam Allardyce, do you feel you are the right person to take this club forward?"

Jeremiah Walsh: "Mr. Liggins, thanks for the question. I am confident in my ability to get the job done here, we are going to have lofty goal's but I feel that they will all be obtainable and something we can look forward to."

Chris Howson (BBC London) "What is going to be your strategy in the transfer market, will you be looking to spend big money or are you more into looking for cheap deal's and bargain's?"

Jeremiah Walsh: " Chris, thank you. I would say that I need to meet with my staff and the board a little more in depth before I make a decision on which direction we will go in the summer transfer window, so at this point I can't really say, at least not with any certainty."

Mike Wesley (BBC Live at 5) "Last season was not one to remember for Hammer fan's, how do you rate your chances of gaining promotion and getting back into the Premier League?"

Jeremiah Walsh: "Mike, if I'm being honest there's plenty of work to do before we can be thinking about getting back into the EPL. Make no mistake about it, that is our main goal this year, gaining promotion but we will have to work hard if we are to achieve that this year."

David Sullivan: "Thank you all for coming out to the Boleyn Ground today for our press conference, we are excited about the future of this club and we are now ready to get to work. Thank you again, have a great day."

Jeremiah Walsh: "Thank you ladies and gentlemen, I appreciate the questions, you all have a wonderful evening."

West Ham have made a bid to R. Racing Club for Manuel Arana for an undisclosed amount. Walsh has been quoted saying "we need to add depth and a couple of attacking options and we think Manuel fit's the bill and would be a solid fit for what we are trying to accomplish on the pitch."R. Racing Club accept the West Ham bid for Manuel Arana and he has agreed terms with the London club. He will join immediately.

Frederic Piquionne transfer listed. It's reported that West Ham will be looking for somewhere around 1.8M pounds for him to move on.

Current moves and news:

Wally Downes has accepted mutual termination of his contract as he was on Sam Allardyce's staff. He was the first team coach at West Ham for just over a year.

Martyn Margetson has also accepted mutual termination of his contract. He was the goalkeeping coach at West Ham for three year's. He is also contracted to Wales National team as their GK coach.

Jerome John was the other goalkeeping coach at West Ham and he is also out as one of the four coaches who agree to move on from West Ham as Walsh looks to bring in a bit of his own staff.

Also, the physio, Stijn Vandenbroucke will be looking for work elsewhere as he decided to mutually terminate his contract at West Ham football club. He was the main physio for the Hammers for the past two seasons.

Steve Martin accepts the West Ham offer to become a memeber of the scouting department. He was previously a youth coach at Stoke but will clearly add something to the scouting department at West Ham.

Steve Nickson accepts the West Ham offer to become a scout for the London club. They were looking for at least three scouts and have found two solid scouts early on this offseason.

Alan Miller is the latest addition to the scouting department at West Ham, they now have 5 of the best scouts in the entire UK and will certainly have a leg up on most teams when it comes to finding and attracting talent to the club.

Brian Eastick has joined the coaching staff at West Ham as he will take over as a coach. He has good experience and is very hands on which is what Walsh will be looking for in his staff.

Ray Clemence has also joined the coaching staff here at West Ham, adding another staff member to what is a growing staff. I must say that the staff is certainly quality and the players should reap the rewards for that moving forward.

Transfer News:

West Ham United can count theirselves highly unlucky to only draw in their NPOWER Championship match at the Boleyn Ground where it ended against Blackpool 0-0.

West Ham had a number of attempts at goal but their profligacy meant they didn't score but had a number of wasted opportunities.

West Ham United fail to make their chances pay as they squandered a boat load of opportunities against Derby at the Boleyn Ground today. They certainly have to feel like they should have taken all three points in todays match. The positive side is that they did pick up a point and are only 2 points off the lead in the Championship standings.

West Ham continued their league dominance at Fratton Park this evening as they beat Portsmouth by the score of 3-0. The defence has been excellent the entire year and it was much of the same today. They look to be hitting stride and look unbeatable at the moment.

West Ham have again dropped points with another 0-0 draw against Barnsley. They did on the other hand have a ton of chances which they failed to convert. Simon *** had to miss at least 3 shots that on any other day would have been in the back of the net.

In a suprise result, West Ham lost to a scrappy Bristol City squad who scored 4 unanswered goals in their 4-2 victory at Ashton Gate. This is West Ham United's first loss of the season in 14 matches and they will be looking to get back on track against Watford on Saturday.
Jeremiah Walsh was quoted as saying "we were extremely poor in defence today, we got out to a quick lead and from the way it looked we just stopped playing and let them back into the match, this is something we will learn from and make sure it doesn't happen again."

^ Second that, make text smaller. Other than that I am following as a die hard West Ham fan would love someone to go far with them :)

Guy's, thanks for following, I will certainly make the text smaller so the story will be more enjoyable. If either of you have stories going, let me know and I will follow. Again, thanks for the suggestions and following West Ham's rise to the Premier League!

Clinical finishing the difference at the Boleyn Ground. West Ham United overcam an overmatched Watford team by a score of 2-0. More brillient defence from the Hammers as they move to the top of the table with the win and a match in hand at this point.

West Ham enjoying life with Walsh

It might still be early day's in Jeremiah Walsh's West Ham career but things are looking good for the young, American boss.

With Walsh having masterminded his Hammers team to ten wins in fifteen matches, it won't take long before fan's and media alike begin to jump on the West Ham banwagon.

West Ham are through to the quarter final in the League Cup with a 4-1 victory over Norwich at the Boleyn Ground.

Getting to the final stages of the League Cup will be seen as a fantastic achievement for the npower Championship club who only ever really harboured ambitions of reaching the fourth round, but have found themeselves in somewhat familiar territory thanks largely to the performances from Simon *** and Abdoulaye Faye.

West Ham United have triumphed in a goal bonanza at the Ricoh Arena where they won by a score of 4-3 with a huge match from Nicky Maynard who had 2 goals to his name.West Ham's defence did look suspect today as they gave up 3 goals by playing poor defence, the encouraging sign was the 4 goals that they have scored. Jeremiah Walsh was quoted saying this, "if we are to gain promotion this year we will have to continue to have offensive performances like this but defence will certainly have to do a bit better, all in all I'm happy with our year so far, just need to work on a few things and tighten up in defence"

The Hammers, hammer Crystal Palace 3-0 at the Boleyn Ground behind a fine performance from Joey O'brien in defence. He was in for the suspended Guy Demel and did a wonderful job on the attacking options for Crystal Palace. West Ham moves to the top of the table, can they stay, we shall see.
