David Sullivan: "Thank you all for gathering here this afternoon, we are here today to unveil our new manager, someone who has a bright future in this game and is a bright, young mind with wonderful idea's. He will bring a breathe of fresh air to a club that really need's it. With that being said I would like to introduce Mr. Jeremiah Walsh as the new West Ham manager."
Jeremiah Walsh: "Thank you Mr. Sullivan, I certainly appreciate the opportunity to move this club forward and back into the EPL where we belong. Let me just say before we get started that I have no intention of staying in the Championship beyond this year, the next step this wonderful club has to be getting right back into the Premier League this year, that is our goal this year, simple and plain. Now, question?"
Chris Stapleton (K!ck Magazine) "Jeremiah, welcome to England and to West Ham in particular, how excited are you about this job and is this a dream come true?"
Jeremiah Walsh: "Thank you for the warm welcome, I am beyond excited to be here in England and I'm even more excited to be appointed manager of such a wonderful club here in West Ham. I can't wait to get started."
Johnny Liggins (The Sun newspaper) "Jeremiah, you arrive as the replacement for "big" Sam Allardyce, do you feel you are the right person to take this club forward?"
Jeremiah Walsh: "Mr. Liggins, thanks for the question. I am confident in my ability to get the job done here, we are going to have lofty goal's but I feel that they will all be obtainable and something we can look forward to."
Chris Howson (BBC London) "What is going to be your strategy in the transfer market, will you be looking to spend big money or are you more into looking for cheap deal's and bargain's?"
Jeremiah Walsh: " Chris, thank you. I would say that I need to meet with my staff and the board a little more in depth before I make a decision on which direction we will go in the summer transfer window, so at this point I can't really say, at least not with any certainty."
Mike Wesley (BBC Live at 5) "Last season was not one to remember for Hammer fan's, how do you rate your chances of gaining promotion and getting back into the Premier League?"
Jeremiah Walsh: "Mike, if I'm being honest there's plenty of work to do before we can be thinking about getting back into the EPL. Make no mistake about it, that is our main goal this year, gaining promotion but we will have to work hard if we are to achieve that this year."
David Sullivan: "Thank you all for coming out to the Boleyn Ground today for our press conference, we are excited about the future of this club and we are now ready to get to work. Thank you again, have a great day."
Jeremiah Walsh: "Thank you ladies and gentlemen, I appreciate the questions, you all have a wonderful evening."
