This is my first EVER attempt at writing a FM story. Will update a couple/few times a week covering a month’s game time. The story will be mainly in a format of screenshots, although I will also write some bits to go with them.
(Any feedback will be gratefully received)

The Game.
Leagues: England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy – top leagues and also Hungary – all leagues

Database: “LFCMarshall’s Summer Transfer” current update (Tuesday 4th Sept 2012)
(modified slightly to fit the story)

Tactics: Underdogs have their day tactic - by Raikan007 - Thank you for Tactic

Team : Ferencvárosi TC (nickname: Green Eagles / Fradi)

Who? Ferencvaros are the biggest supported club in Hungary and also the most popular, they are owned (in-directly) by Kevin McCabe (Sheff Utd Chairman). I have been on holiday a lot of times to Hungary and they were the first stadium I went past, so I thought they would be a good team to follow and I have never managed them until now. So I thought it would make a good story.

BREAKING NEWS........We now cross live to Budapest, Hungary where there is a news conference with Gabor Kubatov (Ferencvaros President)

“People for a long time now, we have needed a new stadium and for this to happen we have to find money. With the help of Kevin McCabe we are 95% of the way there, the new stadium will open in time for the 2013-2014 season and will be a 22,800 all seated UEFA category IV stadium similar to FSV Mainz’s stadium (Coface Arena). However we have had to make a lot of sacrifice’s, so unfortunately as of today the entire management and backroom staff have been made redundant. The reason for this is we needed to cut costs to help fund the final push for the stadium. So ultimately we needed to find a manager who would work with us for free. While also believing in our vision for the future, we have found that manager; he has no experience, stay with us and come for the ride. PLEASE. It’s going to be an exciting times ahead, I believe in him and beg our fans to believe and also dare to dream. I believe the club won’t regret this day. I will now introduce the new manager from England – Mr Andrew Coates”

Will update very soon – Really hope you enjoy the story.

I remember David Ginola scoring a scorching volley against these in the Euro cup years ago for Newcastle!

First Day

First glance at my team

View attachment 273276
Nothing exciting really -Just and average team - the two loan signings have decent stats but gonna have to make improvements in goal and upfront.
In terms of budget and wages - I think I can achieve mid table
View attachment 273277
As for my backroom team - I brought Laszlo Distzl in as my assistant manager in from Videoton (in real life he runs a youth academy in Videoton, who run it in partnership with Real Madrid) - He stats are not the best but he was one of a few who would come work with me, on the plus side he does have high - Determination and Motivation. The rest of the backroom are just average and nothing to shout about, but was struggling to get people to come to me.

Onto to improving my team.

3 Good buys there who I think will improve the team greatly - - - So the adventure begins

my favorite team, absolutely following

English Eagle - June 2011

So season begins with 3 warm up games - Then Europa league 1st Qualifying Round against TNS (winners vs Anorthosi from Cyprus)

I was going to let my assistant take charges of the first couple of games and I would change things round for last game before the season properly starts

Disappointing start - didn't convert chances and didn't really create much
(I looked at the side my assistant choose, he had selected mainly the B side :(

2nd Game - I took full charge and implemented Raikan007's underdog tactic fully

View attachment 273283
Much better - created lots more and bossed the possession (okay they no Barcelona but still)
Again struggling to put chances away - Might have to look at the strikers again.

Final warm up - A nice victory, finally started putting chances away and played some nice football overall

So onto the proper football - Europa League 1st Qual. Round 1st Leg Away
Need a good result to bring back for the home tie.

GET IN! - What a game - Cracking Result (they had 8 shots and 6 on target in first 20 mins!) it was a frantic start, then we started to boss possession and ground out a nice result.

So onto July and the start of the league campaign and 2nd leg of the TNS game.

Go Fradi, go Fradi

Go lads go
and the ball flies
kicked into the net
Go Fradi go FTC!

very nice mate.. one of the few stories I have read properly.. bookmarked.

hope the new version of the tactic works well mate... its not one of my best.. it wont work for most teams!

also, cool team :) nice to see something different

English Eagle - Upcoming Fixtures July

So after coming back down to earth, following that cracking result in the Europa League - I got to look ahead to the upcoming fixtures in July.

TNS - H - Europa League 2nd Leg - Hoping to polish that tie off nicely

Haladas - H - League - Should be easy 3 points

Paks - A - League - Harder game but hoping to scrape a draw

Honved - H - League - Hardest game of month

Possibly first leg of Europa as well to play

Target for month - 4 out of 9 points and qualify for 2nd Round Europa League.

Sorry I meant why did you edit the update.

Ah, I edited the update to remove all the staff and put the new stadium in with the move dates etc etc.

I aint got enough time (due to work) to do a fully blown story mode so thought would do with mainly screenshots and bits of story, sorry if it comes across bad.

English Eagle - July 2011

So into July – Start of the league campaign – Media predication is 8th. Be more than happy if I get that in first season.
Onto first game – Europa League 1st Qual. Rnd Leg 2
View attachment 273718
Good result – the first half was all me, Second half was all them they created a load of chances despite them not having much possession. So onward into 2nd Round we go.

View attachment 273719
End to end game, both sides created chances. Thought we were going to have to settle with the 3-2 defeat but in last minute Benjelloun was flattened in the box, blatant penalty. Somalia slotted home, cool as a cucumber – get in. Hopefully into next round so going to drill it into the lads how important a cup run in Europe is.

So onto first league game, despite lads being tired I took risk and left side unchanged.

Where do I start, bossed the possession created 7 CCC and had most of the territory as well. Just wasn’t to be our night. Gutted, took lads for a team meeting to talk through the game and focus their minds on the upcoming Europa game.

View attachment 273721
What a night – was total back to the walls stuff besides our two goals and 9 shots we did nothing, they came wave after wave after wave. Our Goalkeeper (the new signing) was top notch.

2nd League game

Scrappy game, scrapped a point and the sending off at the end was a disgrace, made my feelings know and was warned about future conduct. Quickly move on I think.

3rd Europa Qual. Rnd – 1st Leg
View attachment 273723
What a signing this boy is – Abdessalm Benjelloun – The perfect hat-trick – Right, Left, Head – Bang you beauty. Will be “parking the plane” in away leg.

3rd League game
View attachment 273724
And again – another great result from the lads – played some real nice football as well. Great end to the month – Hope I can carry form into August.

Target for Month was 4 out 9 and qualify for second round Europe. actually got 6 points and almost in 4th round of Europe. So happy days
