Bog standard Liverpool story. I'm using LFCMarshalls 4th September update for this game.

Short term Aims : - Top 4 finish

Long term Aims : - Title challenges

I don't have the imagination or patience to try and write a funny/entertaining story about how I got the Liverpool job. Just assume that I'm chuffed to bits :D

N.B I have changed one thing on the editor, I gave Conor Coady a -9 PA

Pre Season

Overall, a very good pre-season with some absolute hammerings of my reserves and Doncaster and a very respectable draw against a decent Sevilla side. Also got through to the next round of the Europa with a 6-0 aggregate win over Varazdin. Only 1 minor blip coming against Gimnastic in which a youthful squad lost 1-0. Luis Suarez was the best performer scoring a magnificent 11 goals.

Transfers

No major buys, had a couple of youth players go to MTK (an affiliate of LFC) so they can gain vital first team experience. Managed to get Isaac Cuenca on loan from Barca aswell with the option of a £15m future fee.

First game of the premiership started badly. Conceded an early goal before battling back for a 2-1 win with goals coming from Borini and Assaidi.

MOTM - Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)

*Transfer Update - Michael Ngoo signs for Burnley for £180,000.

*Player Update - Still unable to get rid of Stewart Downing, seems every other club is wise to how **** he actually is......

* League Cup update - drawn Southampton at home in the 3rd round.

Got out of jail slightly with this one courtesy of a Michael Dawson 90th minute own goal. Sigurdsson completely dominated the midfield and my defence was a shambles. Safe to say Skrtel and Johnson are being dropped for the next game.

At the end of August I'm currently lying in 11th place after 1 win and 1 draw with a +1 gd. I do have a game in hand though. Man Utd lead the way with the only team left with a 100% win rate.

Player of the month - Fabio Borini. Truly inspired month with 7 goals in 5 matches.May his form long continue.

Didn't disappoint in my first home league game of the season, got off to a good start courtesy of 2 own goals by Sunderland. Decided to go with an unchanged defence for stability. Just demanded a better performance of Johnson/Skrtel and was rewarded by both.

Managed to sneak a 2-0 win even though it was overall a very even game. Suarez was the difference however winning the penalty on 77 mins and then converting himself 4 minutes later.

Not a bad win if I do say so myself, mostly down to a remarkable 4 goals by Fabio Borini (if only he could be in this sort of form in real life hey?) Isaac Cuenca continuing his good form also. May have to look at signing him permanently.

Another win courtesy of 2 own goals. That's 3 own goals in matches now. Ill take them as they come though. Played a lot of youngsters so it was good to get the win.

A brilliant display by Luis Suarez led to another win in the league (also 4th own goal in 3 matches now). Not a very good performance overall though today.

Liverpool - Anzhi

A good win in Europe at home, Anzhi put up a good fight but was well beaten in the end via a very good overall team performance. Unfortunately Cuenca (who has been playing brilliantly was injured and is out for up to 4 weeks with a fractured arm). Assaidi also picked up a groin strain and will be out for 2-3 weeks.

Still going well in the league, undefeated in 10 games now. Disappointed not to sneak victories against Chelsea/Man City but cant really grumble.

League Cup

Again, I played a lot of youngsters in the league cup. Paid dividends though as I ran out 2-0 winners. Unfortunately one of the most promising in Jonjo Shelvey got injured and is now out for approx. 4 months.

Was disappointed to have drawn the home fixture against Malaga but did well to win the return. Was helped by them going down to 10 men but it now means that I've qualified for the next round with 2 games to spare.
