Pride of Occitania

Chapter I: Pre-Season 2011/12

View attachment 278697

Toulouse FC chairman has announced the departure of former manager , Alain Casanova , followed by the appoitment of
Guifré Llorenç , a romanian manager and Toulouse resident , who is at his first experience as a manager. Guifré Llorenç , 26 , had some experience in football playing as a midfielder at another Toulouse team , Toulouse Fontaines Club. But a terrible injury ended his career , in a time when Toulouse FC where interested in signing him. The decision has come as a shock for many of the Toulouse fans , who demanded to know how this unproven manager has come to be appointed. Olivier Sardan defended his decision , by calling Guifré Llorenç - "The perfect man for the job. I have confidence that this man will forge Toulouse into a force in football and a proud representative of the Occitanian culture". With those words , Olivier Sardan handed his newly appointed manager to the reporters mercy. Assaulted by seemengly endless questions , Guifré Llorenç managed to keep his calm at his first interview. Answering politely and occasionally joking , Guifré Llorenç easily handled his first experience with the media. As the conference reached it's final question , a reporter asked how high are his ambitions regarding Toulouse FC. Guifré Llorenç responded with a smile on his face and responded in Occitan -"Per Tolosa totjorn mai". With that answer , Guifré Llorenç , alongside Olivier Sardan , left the conference room and headed towads the pitch , where the players and staff members expected their arrival.

Guifré Llorenç stepped on the grass of the stadium he often dreamed to play on. It was an overwhelming feeling. Not to far away from the entrance , the Toulouse FC players and staff memebers where standing on the ground , joking and laughing , as their new manager arrived. With the introductions being made , Guifré Llorenç realised that it will be a tough job and he will have to work his *** off to fulfill his dreams.

The Squad

Here is a image with the squad.

Despite having no transfer money , I'm pleased with the current squad. With a top half finish as my objective , I'm pretty confident that I can manage that with the current squad. But it will be tough. I have armies of clubs trying to ****** some of my best players and injyuries will also be something that can cause me a lot of troubles. But we will see. I think I may be forced to sell one of my best players in order to cover all my positions.

Enough for this first chapter. In the next one will start with the friendlies and the road towards the first day of the French First League.

Friendlies

View attachment 278998

Because of limited time until the start of the season , plus a very thick suqad , I decided that the risk of injuries is way too high. So I've decided to play only three friendlies.

Osnabrück FC Vs.Toulouse FC 1-4
Didot
Bulut
Braaten
Kotuljac (pen)
Ben Yadder

Despite the score , the match was pretty even. A better possesion of the ball and a more lethal touch in front of the goal where the elements of this win. Personally I wasn't pleased and it is obvious that we have a lot of work to do...

Toulouse Fc vs. FC Istres 1-0
Didot

An interesting result against a Ligue 2 team. This match was only one way. FC Istres was dominated from the beginning to the end and only my players lack of concentration in front of the goal , made us win this match with only a goal margin.

Toulouse FC - Santos FC 1-0
Bulut

My toughest match so far ended in a win for us , thanks to Umut Bulut who scored in the first minute of the game. Santos dominated the fisrt half of the match but in the second half we managed to turn things around and maintain our advantage. Despite the result, our performance was below par and we need to improve because the league is about to start...

Chapter 2: Let the Ligue begin!

So the day has arrived. All around France , fans headed towards the stadiums. Outside was perfect. Not a cloud on the sky and a ideal 20 degrees temperature. My first at the helm of this team will be against AC Ajaccio , on their home ground. I didn't manage to bring any new players to reinforce the team but on the bright side , we didn't lose any of our star players. Ligue 1 starts today and our journey towards greatness begins...

AC Ajaccio - Toulouse FC 0-1
Bulut

A decent first match. Another even match and we won thanks to a great pass from Deveaux and a moment of inspiration from Umut Bulut. Overrall , a good debut but we need to step up our game. Our defense is having problems blending together. This leads to bad passes and errors.

Enough for this chapter. Will see how things evolve in the next chapters.

Toulouse FC - Dijoc FCO 3-0

Good match from our side. We absolutely dominated the entire match , with dijon FCO failing to test our goalkeeper not even once. Finally the team started to play the way I wanted.

OGC Nice - Toulouse FC 0-4
Congre
Bulut
Didot
Sissoko

Another great match for our side. Again we dominated the entire match. The team seems to find is rhytm but so far we faced only mediocre teams and our next match will be our first real challenge. We will face PSG.

Toulouse FC - PSG 0-0

A very good performance from my side. We couldn't have won the match if their goalkeeper wasn't in such great form. But the same way we could have lost the match. PSG wrongly got a goal disallowed in the 58th minute.

Vallenciens FC- Toulouse FC 0-1
(Coupe De Ligue)
Bulut

We got a win but at what cost... Earlier we lost Tabanou for a few weeks and in this match things will go from bad to worse. First we lost M'Bangue , Tabanou's replacement , bacuse of a stupid late tackle. and after we lost our captain , Congre , bacuse of an injury. M'Bangue suspended for three matches and Congre out for al least three weeks.

Stade Malherbe Caen - Toulouse FC 2-2
Capoue
Braaten
Frau
Bulot

As I suspected at the beginning of the season , I needed reinforcements. And in this match all became even more obvious. My replacements couldn't handle the pressure and because of that we lost a two goal advantage , which we had since the 5th minute. Overall a good performance for all my players , except my defenders and my GK , who all amde childlish mistakes and cost us 3 points.

Toulouse FC - Girodins Bordeaux 1-1
Traore
Bulut

Another match , another chance for my replacements to cost me some points. But this time a poor performance from the entire team. A lot of mistakes , bad passes , errors and lack of concentration in front of the goal cost us another match and another draw.

Nice stuff with Toulouse, I did also play them and won the ECL and 3 titles with them, probably my favourite game. Keep it up. :)

Sadly because of a blackout , my game save is ruined and stopped working...
That makes this thread useless...
Will start a new story soon entitled "King of the North"
