Wolves today announced the capture of Norwegian born manager
Ståle Solbakken, Ståle once manager of Bundesliga team 1. FC Köln agreed terms with Midlands club Wolverhampton Wanderers late this evening after his nightmare employment with the German team. The resignation of ex manager Mick McCarthy paved a foot path into English football for five time Danish Superliga winner Solbakken. Mick handed in his resignation soon after the 5-1 drubbing by local rivals West Brom late last season, The fans frustration soon showed at the final whistle with chants such as “McCarthy Must Go” Mick left the club after spending 3 years in the top flight, But after a nightmare start to his 3rd year patience started to run thin. Solbakken boasts a very good CV coming to England after managing in the Champions League, He also carries a very long list of trophies under his belt. His nightmare at 1. FC Köln is the only thing Solbakken hasn’t done particularly well, quoting on his final day in the job that “Jesus and José Mourinho would have struggled together this year” Solbakken is well known for his spat on the touchline with Barcalona Manager Pep Guardiola after the 1-1 draw with the Spanish giants.

We caught up with Jez Moxey CEO of Wolves today outside the new Compton training ground.

“Ståle is a great catch by us, having a ex-Champions League manager down here is a great moral booster and we no Ståle can change this squad around to become a very well established football team, After last season’s horrific show we owe this to the fans who travel home & away expecting results. This is exciting times for us as a club and im sure the fans will be excited by this new signing, We have put all our trust in Ståle to perform when it counts and bring sucsess back to this club!”

We also caught up with Ståle outside the Molineux
“Im very excited to be given the chance to bring this club forward and back up to where we belong. Im relishing the chance to show to everybody that I can cope with the English leagues and I can implement my style of football on this team. Yes there will be some comings and goings in the football club over the next few weeks but this is very exciting times for Wolves fans, I have turned down 3 Champions League teams to take the post here, I no the history of this club and i no what this team means to the fans, Ive taken all the DVD's from last season home with me and watched them from start to finish. I no where the teams needs improving and im already working hard to bring in some New, Fresh, Exciting & Young players, And a few old heads.. I like to play exciting fast paced and attacking football, This is a dream come true for me and i will give this my all, I can promise each and every Wolves fan that from the bottom of my heart! ”
