Hi, im playing variations of some tactics on here, and im playing well in nearly every game, just had a game where i had 21 shot to their 2, and got beat 2 nil, its every game, i batter teams, but no1 can put the ball in the net, yet regardless of what opposition im up against, they score with one chance, and i require like 50 1 on 1's. why is this, im seriously tempted to put every player on intensive shooting training and nothing else lol. Is there anything anyone can suggest?

This is something thats getting on my nerves too.I totally batter teams with about 20 shots to there 2 shots and im really struggling to win, sometimes drawing or even getting beat with a sucker punch goal.
How the **** do i get my team to finish there chances? Some help please.:(

Maybe your strikers have low composure, More prone to missing a one on one or a goal scoring oppotunity while under pressure

try playing your best strikers that have high composure and finishing.

How many clear cut chances are being created?

My strikers are fernando Torres & Alberto Paloschi, they are class in every department including Composure & finishing. Ive just played a match there against porto,i had 24 shots they had 4 and they won 1-0,terrible.

I have cisse up front, and his finishing is 16 and composure is 14, so not that bad, and i have him as target man, ball being played to run onto, the amount of 1 on 1's he gets is unreal, puts none away, I also have polacio, who is about the same, he doesnt get so many 1 on 1's but any chance any of them get, its like their keeper all of a sudden turns into the best in the world, chances iv seen the opposition put past me, time and time again

all because you had 24 shots on goal doesnt mean you derserve the win.

You should watch your games carefully, 24 shots on goals? that could mean anything eg - 20 yarders, 30 yarders, shooting from the corner flag,

goalkeepers - when i see people create a thread about 'Need a keeper' etc. i dont see the point no matter how rubbish the keeper's stats are he still pulls off saves after saves after save.

it is a matter of luck tbh if your players score

thats football, being clinical infront of goal is more important than possession

You could be right about the long shots mate, ive just turned the long shots, thru balls and crossing down to rarely on my 2 strikers and won the away leg against porto 3 zip.I created 10 shots. We could have a winner.

iv just played man city there, was pretty even game, my point is iv had about 6 chances, 1 on 1, inside the box, hit straight at the keeper, bellamy goes runs straight past my centre halves as if they wernt there then curls it in the bottom cornor from outside the box. my point is how come the computer bang them in every single time, who ever you're playing, yet i never do. I have no idea how to rectify this, its so frustrating, why is the game so hard lol. do you sort this out in the training, or what, coz its literally everygame

try tigthen up your defence to stop them getting chances, it is matter of luck sometimes it goes your way sometimes it doesnt.

you just gotta get on with it.

Maybe Bellamy is a better finisher in that situation than your own strikers? Or at least he was in that match?

I've seen the AI controlled teams struggle in 1 on 1s too. It does seem to cut both ways. And I think part of the frustration could well be linked to the 3d match engine not being quite as accurate as it should be about where everyone is at any one particular time...

The key thing is how many clear cut chances did you have and miss? If it's 6 and score 0 then there is something wrong with your strikers.

its probably a bit of both to be fair, whats the best way to tighten up the defence, coz if i can stop leaking goals, i might start climbing the table a bit. at the minute my defenders mentalities are all normal, only the centre backs making forward runs

Depends what tactics you're playing really. Centre backs making forward runs is a bit interesting though :)

What mentality system are you using for your team? Tie your defensive line to the mentality of your centrebacks. Deeper would be good I think if you're leaking one on ones with nippy strikers, or get faster defenders :) Wouldn't have centrebacks making forward runs ever to be honest. Always have them on rarely myself, but that's cos I'm a defensive bore :D Fullbacks on mixed, rarely to be ultra-tight. You've got a centremid who goes back to cover defence? Or a full dmc? That's pretty essential too.

edit: The TT&F documents are a good guide to setting up working tactics in FM so may be worth a download and read.

yeh i meant to say centre halves lol not centre backs, got me centre backs rarely making forwards runs, but the centre halves often making them, iv got a centre mid who is running back to cover the defence yeh, my mentality is pretty much attacking minded, but i have the defenders all set to normal, and my centre mid who is tracking back is only one step into attacking

well, iv put all 4 defenders on rarely making forward runs, and iv just done spurs 3-2 at white hart lane, so i could be turning the corner. this after a 2 nil win at home to west brom, just at home i pushed the wingers up to attacking mids, and gave them a bit more creative freedom
