Solskjær announces intention to leave!

View attachment 302522
Norwegian legend Ole Gunnar Solskjær has announced that he will leave the club this month in order to further his managerial career. The former Manchester United player had led current side Molde FK to consecutive league titles - despite the club never winning the domestic league before his arrival. Following his achievements at the club he once played for, Solskjær has decided to league Norway once more - this time as a manager. Molde chairman Øystein Neerland has wished Ole well on his continuing adventure as a football manager:

"Ole is a national legend for his talent as a player and has only further staked his name in folk law after two fantastic years in charge of this football club. I have no doubts that Ole will go on and become a legend wherever he's off to. The club would like to wish Ole well in the future and there is always a place reserved for him at this club.

When asked if he was disappointed with Ole's decision, the chairman answered:

"No, not at all. Myself and Ole are great friends and I hope our friendship will stay strong years into the future. Ole is a big name in world football and he's further enhanced his reputation here at Molde as one of the best up-and-coming managers. Clubs from around Europe have been in contact for his services over the past few years so it comes as no surprise that he feels it's time to move on. I suppose it was inevitable as he's an ambitious man and wants to challenge himself at the top level of European football."

England may well be
Solskjær's destination of choice as Premier League strugglers QPR and West Bromwich Albion have expressed an interest while Championship sides Cardiff City, Derby County and Blackpool have reportedly been in contact with the Norwegian.

Hull City appoint Solskjær!

View attachment 302553
Championship side Hull City have appointed former Molde FK manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær as the man to lead their club. The Tigers currently sit in 14th place in the second tier of English football with 19 games to go - 6 points away from a play-off spot. Solskjær has joined the club after leaving former team Molde just days ago following two successful years with the Norwegian champions. Former Hull City manager Steve Bruce left the club by mutual consent after seeing his side fail to pick up three points again Burnley, Brighton and Charlton.

The Tigers' chairman, Assem Allam, is said to be delighted with the appointment of
Solskjær who was contacted by several Premier League clubs. The former Manchester United striker joined Molde FK early in 2011 and led the club to two league titles in two full seasons. Following the successful period, he decided to move on and challenge himself as a manager elsewhere. When asked about the club, Solskjær had this to say:

"Hull City are a big club in England. Despite being mid-table in the Championship, the club has the potential to push itself into the Premier League and hopefully sustain it's position there. I'm delighted to have signed and I'm already looking forward to the first game in the FA Cup against Sunderland."

When
Solskjær was asked why he chose Hull over several Premier League clubs, he responded with:

"Hull are a team on the up. The playing squad has great potential with several of the young lads and I see the club moving forward in the near future. If I joined a Premier League side, I'd have been fighting to keep them up with just a few months left. While I feel I'm up to the challenge of the Premier League, I'd rather be promoted with Hull and then build afresh for the new season and I hope I can do that in the near future."

Ole Gunnar
Solskjær has reportedly been given around £3,500,000 to spend on his squad in January and is looking to add depth to his side as they sit just six points outside of the play-off positions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær started off his career at Hull City with a fantastic month. Sunderland were his first opponents and the Black Cats travelled to the KC Stadium with high hopes of advancing into the 4th round of the FA Cup. However, a brace from striker Matty Fryatt helped the Tigers to a surprising 4-1 win. A trip to Barnsley then followed for
Solskjær and his team - Matty Fryatt again bagging a brace to help his team in a 3-0 victory.

Rivals Leeds United then visited the KC Stadium and midfielder Robert Koren scored twice to keep
Solskjær's great run as Hull's manager up. New signing Leigh Griffiths then scored a hat-trick against Leicester in a 3-1 win before Millwall visited in the 4th round of the FA Cup and another goal by the Scottish international helped Hull into the next round where they face Solskjær's former team, Manchester United.

Solskjær's first move as Hull City manager was to bring in Norwich City winger Elliott Bennett on a loan deal until the end of the season. Newcastle's Shane Ferguson then also joined on a loan deal until the end of the season and will be used as back-up as Solskjær attempts to push the Tigers further up the table. Scottish striker Leigh Griffiths then made the move to the KC Stadium from fellow Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers for £180,000. Ole Gunnar Solskjær then signed one of his former players from Molde FK as Etzaz Hussain joined for £1,300,000. Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone joined the Tigers as a back-up keeper as David Stockdale is currently in form. French wing-back Reynald Lemaitre then signed on a free transfer before Tottenham Hotspurs' winger Iago Falque joined for £1,900,000.

Youngsters Danny East, Mark Oxley, Jose Cracknell, Jamie Devitt and Conor Townsend joined Worcester, Droylsden, Boston United, Exeter and Accrington on loan deals before long serving player Andy Dawson left the club for Championship rivals Leicester City for a fee of £110,000. Midfielder David Meyler joined League One side Stevenage on loan until the end of the season before Paul McKenna left for Bristol City at a cost of £100,000.

Solskjær's arrival at the KC Stadium proved to be a positive move for Hull City as they jumped up six places in the Championship league table. Nine points out of nine mean the Tigers now sit just one point outside of the play-off positions as they hit a good run of form. Solskjær will be hoping to keep up his teams run in the month ahead.

In other news, former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Stale Solbakken was the man to replace
Solskjær at Molde FK.

Griffiths a steel at that price, good luck mate. Interested on how well Hussain does aswell.

Following this buddy. Take a look at Jonas Svensson mate. He's wickid!

Thanks for the suggestion mate - I've played up until March already but actually took a look at him by chance. However, I passed up on him as I didn't have the funds and I think someone else snapped him up - maybe a team from Belgium. I'll check whenever I'm on again and may try sign him in the summer!

Take a look at Adryan too.

Cheers for the suggestion - however, I've never been able to keep Adryan to play well. I guess some players work for some and not others and he never seems to perform for me - although I have seen future profiles when he's a complete beast. May snap him up in the summer for his potential.

Griffiths a steel at that price, good luck mate. Interested on how well Hussain does aswell.

Griffiths looks good - although he's unlucky Fryatt is in the form he is haha. Hussain looks good - I tried to sign an American called Joshua Gatt from Molde who looks decent but I couldn't get a WP just yet.

Apologies for the lack of updates - exams have taken over my life. Finished my last one today though so will definitely have updates up soon

February 2013

View attachment 304432

Ole Gunnar Solskjær continued his great run in charge of Hull City as they successfully dispatched every team this month with the exception of Cardiff City. First up, the Tigers travelled West to face Blackpool FC who - miraculously - had re-appointed Ian Holloway following his departure to Crystal Palace. Leigh Griffiths scored the only goal in a 1-0 win for Solskjær's side. Bristol City then visited the KC Stadium and goals from Robert Koren, James Chester and Jack Hobbs secured three points in a 3-0 win for the Tigers.

Solskjær then travelled to Old Trafford to face his former team, Manchester United. An early goal from Robert Koren showed the Tigers as having real potential - although Sir Alex Ferguson may be ruing his decision to name a weakened side against his former striker's team. Derby County then made the trip to the KC Stadium and a brace from striker Matty Fryatt ensured Hull picked up three points in a 2-0 win. A trip to Cardiff then ensued for Solskjær and his team. A disappointing performance left the Tigers with no points and no goals as they were firmly beaten 2-0.

February was a great month for Solskjær and his team as they moved from 8th position into 6th position which holds a play-off birth. Hull City are currently ahead of Cardiff City on just goal difference - having scored two goals less but conceding three less. Solskjær's team face a busy month ahead as their fixture is jam-packed with key fixtures.

In other news, the Humberside club face Birmingham City in the Sixth Round of the FA Cup.

Watford was the first trip for
Solskjær's side this month as Hull City travelled to Vicarage Road to face the team top of the table. A brace from striker Matty Fryatt along with goals from Robert Koren and James Chester ensured the Tigers picked up all three points in an important game forSolskjær's side. The Humberside club then played host to Middlesbrough as the North-East team were on a great run of form. However, another brace from Matty Fryatt as well as a Stephen Quinn goal meant Hull CIty won the game 3-1 and continued their charge up the table.

Birmingham City were the next visitors to the KC Stadium. The Sixth Round FA Cup game was played in good spirits - and two first half strikes from Matty Fryatt meant that the Humberside club progressed into the Semi-Final where they will play Liverpool at Wembley. January signing Iago Falque then got his first goal for Hull City - and scored his second quickly after. A Matty Fryatt strike accompanied the Spanish midfielders' goals in a 3-0 win at Huddersfield Town. In-form Crystal Palace then visited Hull and left empty handed. Sone Aluko scored on his return from long-term injury as Matty Fryatt scored the other in a 2-1 victory. Promotion candidates Blackburn then lay in wait for the Tigers as they made the trip to Ewood Park. A late Tom Cairney screamer ensured Solskjær's team picked up a point for their troubles.

March was another fabulous month for Solskjær as his team picked up 13 points from a possible 15 in the league. His team moved from 6th position to 3rd; just one point behind leaders Watford. In the final month of the season, Hull City face important games against Sheffield Wednesday, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bolton as they play 7 games in a busy schedule.

In other news, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has recently praised Hull City manager Ole Gunnar
Solskjær for the progress the team have made under him. Ferguson has reportedly praised Solskjær's managerial style and said he has no doubts the Humberside club will soon mark their return to the Premier League under the "great manager".

April 2013: Hull City win Promotion!

View attachment 304542

Ole Gunnar
Solskjær secured promotion in his first season as Hull City manager to take the team from Humberside back into the Premier League; three years after they were relegated to the Championship.

On the first day of April, promotion rivals Sheffield Wednesday visited the KC Stadium and were soundly beaten by
Solskjær's men as Stephen Quinn and Reynald Lemaitre grabbed the goals in a 2-0 win. In the next game, the Tigers travelled to Wolverhampton Wanderers - another promotion rival. A boring 0-0 draw meant Hull stayed above Wolves by just one point. In the next game, Hull City played host to money-rich Nottingham Forest. A double from Matty Fryatt as well as a goal from midfielder Iago Falque saw Forest leave the KC Stadium well beaten in a 3-0 loss. The Tigers then travelled to Wembley to face Premier League side Liverpool FC in the Semi-Final of the FA Cup. Two late goals from the Premier League side saw Hull drop out of the competition.

In the next league game, Hull City travelled to the Reebok Stadium to face Bolton Wanderers. Three first half goals ensured a 3-0 win for the Tigers before they travelled to London to face Charlton Athletic. The only goal of the game came in the 9th minute when striker Matty Fryatt slotted under the Charlton goalkeeper. Ipswich Town then traveled to the KC Stadium and were downed by three first half goals from Etzaz Hussain, Iago Falque and Liam Rosenior. This result meant the Humberside team secured the league title with a game left to play. That game was indeed against Peterborough United and a hat-trick from Matty Fryatt saw him claim the league top goalscorer as well as another three points for Hull City in a 3-0 win.

Table

View attachment 304543
Solskjær has done a fantastic job since taking over at the KC Stadium - leading the club from 14th to 1st in a matter of 19 games - picking up 50 points out of a possible 57. Blackburn Rovers secured an instant return to the Premier League after being relegated last year and surprise package Sheffield Wednesday secured promotion through the play-offs; beating Watford in the final. At the other end of the table, it was misery for Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town and Nottingham Forest as the three were relegated to League One.

The Premier League title was secured by Manchester City as they had a 2 point lead over second placed Manchester United. Arsenal and Tottenham placed 3rd and 4th respectively while Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton all secured Europa League spots. The bottom of the Premier League table saw Southampton, Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa relegated as Sunderland survived by just two points.

Great story :) Would love to see how you do in the prem!

Pre-season and August 2013

View attachment 304890

Pre-season started off well for
Solskjær and his team as a trip to East Fife ended in a 3-0 win for the newly promoted team from Humberside. New signings Haris Vuckic and Wilfried Zaha got on the scoresheet as well as winger Robbie Brady. Next, the Tigers travelled to Israel to face Beitar Jerusalem and were well beaten 2-1. Hull City then travelled to Spain to face Cadiz and a brace from striker Matty Fryatt as well as a penalty from Etzaz Hussain ensured the English side won the game 3-0. Gençlerbirliği then lay in wait for the Tigers and a second string side comfortably beat the Turkish team 5-0.

Hull City's start to the new Premier League season was anything to be desired. Solskjær endured a torrid month back in the Premier League and will surely hope September brings some points for his side. The month started with a trip to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham Hotspur - goals from Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon gave the London side all three points in a 2-0 win. Sunderland then visited the KC Stadium and won the game 2-0 despite being dominated by the newly promoted team. Next up, the Tigers hosted MK Dons in the Second Round of the Capital One Cup. New singing's Ku Ja-Cheol and Alvaro ensured Hull progress into the Third Round. To round the month off, the Humderside club travelled North to face Newcastle United. A dominant performance from the Tigers looked set to earn Solskjær's team their first point - until Papiss Demba Cisse scored a 89th minute goal and won the game for Newcastle - leaving Hull City on 0 points from 3 games.

Table

Solskjær's team currently sit in 19th position on 0 points from 3 games. His team have conceded 5 goals and have scored 0 - which Solskjær is reportedly very unhappy about. Despite dominating two games against Sunderland and Newcastle, his team still failed to score and the Norwegian manager is said to be disappointed with his teams results.

Solskjær's first Summer signing was to bring David Stockdale back to the KC Stadium after he had been on loan at the club last season. A fee of £1,800,000 was agreed with his club Fulham. Centre-back Grant Hanley then joined the Humberside club from promoted club Blackburn Rovers for a fee of £4,500,000. English wonderkid Wilfried Zaha then left Crystal Palace for Hull City in a deal reportedly worth £7,000,000. Newcastle United pair Haris Vuckic and Gael Bigirimana then joined the Tigers for a combined fee of £2,000,000. Goalkeeper Carlos Kameni then left Spanish club Malaga to join Hull in a deal worth £3,200,000. Midfielders Mikkel Diskerud, Ku Ja-Cheol and Colin Kazam Richards then all joined the Tigers from Rosenborg, Wolfsburg and Galatasaray for a combined fee of £4,000,000. Juventus wing-back Reto Ziegler then joined for £2,600,000 while Getafe pair Alvaro and Juan Valera joined for £2,000,000 and £1,000,000 each. Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi then joined the Humberside club on loan until the end of the season - before Manchester United midfielder Anderson made the same move. Ivan Perisic left Wolfsburg to join Hull City in a £4,200,000 deal.

Nick Proschwitz left the KC Stadium to join Championship side Ipswich Town for a fee of £1,000,000. Newcastle United then secured the services of Hull City pair Sone Aluko and Reynald Lemaitre for a combined fee of £11,500,000. Midfielder Stephen Quinn joined Wolverhampton Wanderers for £3,000,000 while defender Alex Bruce joined Sheffield United for £500,000 before goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic joined Peterborough for £1,000,000. Abdoulaye Faye, Jay Simpson and Seyi Olofinjana were the main names amongst a list of 9 players released. Defender Paul McShane left to join Ipswich on a free transfer as his contract had ran out before ex-Sunderland player David Meyler left to join Doncaster Rovers for £500,000. Conor Townsend and Aaron McLean left to join Oxford and Coventry on loan respectively. Swansea City then snapped up Hull City pair Matty Fryatt and Cameron Stewart for a combined fee of £15,500,000. Francis McCaffrey then left the club on a free transfer following a falling out with manager Ole Gunnar
Solskjær.

September 2013

Solskjær's team progressed well as the month of September wore on. The first game of the month saw Everton visit the KC Stadium and put in a quality performance. An early goal from Nikica Jelavic left the Tigers wondering what they had to do to score a league goal. In the following game, Hull City travelled to the Madejski Stadium to face fellow Premier League outfit Reading in the Fourth Round of the Capital One Cup. A performance out of the top draw saw the Tigers head back North after ensuring their place in the next round thanks to goals from Ivan Perisic, Ku Ja-Cheol and Leigh Griffiths. In the final game of a short month, Hull City played host to Fulham. An early goal from striker Alvaro gave the Tigers the lead before Dimitar Berbatov equalised for the London club. A second half penalty from Scottish midfielder Tom Cairney gave the Humerside club their first three points of the season.

Despite the league win against Fulham, Hull City still sit in a lowly 19th position with just 3 points from a possible total of 15. The month ahead has games against Chelsea and Solskjær's former club, Manchester United as well as the Fourth Round of the Capital One Cup.

October 2013

In the first game of October, newly promoted Hull City travelled to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea. Two early debatable penalties were given against the Humberside club in quick succession - and keeper Carlos Kameni got a hand to both. As the game wore on, the Tigers became more impressive; pushing forward and looking for a winner. As the clock wore down and the game was coming to a close, left-back Ziegler attempted a back pass to Carlos Kameni - only for it to drop short to Chelsea striker Jovetic who calmly slotted home to left the Tigers disappointed.

In the next game,
Solskjær's former club Manchester United visited the KC Stadium. Before the game, Sir Alex Ferguson said he was delighted to face his former player's team as managerial rivals. Two first half goals from Tom Cairney and Ivan Perisic gave Hull City a surprise 2-1 victory over the Red Devils. West Ham United then travelled North to face the Humberside club. Both teams seemingly played defensive and the tactics resulted in a 0-0 bore draw between the two relegation candidates. To round off the month, London club Chelsea visited the KC Stadium in the Fourth Round of the Capital One Cup. Jovetic yet again sunk Hull City as they were knocked out of the cup in a 1-0 loss.

After picking up 4 points from a possible of 9 in the month of October, Solskjær's Hull City team climbed just one place in the league table. The Humberside club have now scored 4 goals and conceded 9 - leaving them on a goal difference of -5 with a total points tally of 7.

November 2013: Hull City sack Solskjær!

View attachment 304985
Hull City have this morning released a statement stating they have relieved Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær of his duties as their first-team manager. The former Manchester United striker led the club from 14th to the Championship title last year in just 19 games and leaves the side in 14th position in the Premier League after just 11 games - having picked up 13 points.

Hull City Chairman Assem Allam said he wished
Solskjær well in the future - but was disappointed with the team's league position. It is understood that at the beginning of the season, Allam set Solskjær the expectation of keeping the club in the Premier League and, despite seeing the team sit comfortably in 14th, now feels Solskjær wasn't up to the job. Fans and pundits alike are astounded at Allam's decision after Hull City were favourites for relegation at the beginning of the season - yet Solskjær managed to take the club to a mid-table spot in just 11 games. They also currently sit above fellow promoted teams Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers.

Assem Allam has also said he was disappointed with
Solskjær's "lacklustre" signings - despite not giving the Norwegian manager any funds at the beginning of the season. Solskjær adopted a sell-to-buy method after the Egyptian Chairman offered no funds and managed to bring in experienced players such as Manchester United midfielder Anderson and Wolfsburg winger Ivan Perisic as well as youth like Wilfried Zaha.

Despite the fans' uproar, it seems Allam had his mind set following the Manchester City game - despite watching the Tigers continue to pick up 6 valuable points against Norwich City and Stoke City.

The Chairman moved quickly to release another statement on the clubs' behalf - stating that England Under-21 Manager Stuart Pearce would take over
Solskjær's role.

VfB Stuttgart appoint Solskjær!

View attachment 305051
Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart have appointed former Molde FK and Hull City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær as the man to boost the German teams' chances of Europa League qualification. The Reds currently sit in 12th position having played 15 games with 18 points. Norwegian manager Solskjær joins the team after being relieved of his duties at Premier League side Hull City just under a month ago.

In his first managerial stint, the former Manchester United striker led Norwegian side Molde FK to two successive league titles - despite the team never winning the domestic league before. Following his achievements, the former international footballer joined then-Championship side Hull City and won the Championship title with them at the first time of asking - despite the team being 14th when he arrived. In the teams first 11 games,
Solskjær led them to a comfortable 14th position in the Premier League before being sacked.

Stuttgart President Gerd Ernst
Mäuser appointed the Norwegian after former German international Bruno Labbadia was sacked after failing to meet early season targets of a 5th place finish. When asked what he thought of
Solskjær, Mäuser responded with:

"
Solskjær is a very young and clever manager. Having had a great career as a top footballer, he's taken his experience into management and has been very successful. I know he'll be the right addition to the staff at this club and he will help to take the team to the next level."

When the Stuttgart President was asked about
Solskjær's sacking at Hull, he said:

"I don't want to comment too much on other clubs' affairs. All I can say is my club have benefited greatly thanks to Hull. I'm not sure why they had him relieved but he was doing a great job - and I'm sure he can do an equally as impressive job here in Germany."

It is reported that
Solskjær will have around £4,000,000 to spend in the upcoming January transfer window. On a side note, the club are currently in the Europa League group stages - although it is impossible for Solskjær's team to qualify following a poor campaign under the old management.
