Hello fellow FM fans, this is the beginning of my save as Detective Sherlock Holmes! I have started the save with...

View attachment 332265
I decided to choose Ipswich because I wanted to be Championship Side but not one who are predicted to do amazingly, so I looked around for a bit and chose Ipswich because they have quite a good youth system and squad but are only predicted to finish 18th! So my goal for the season is to get top half, maybe play offs!

Ipswich Manager Holmes' Isn't Going To Spend Big!

I didn't spend any money during this transfer window, only buying a few back up players for free and one loan signing!

SIGNING ONE!
Emile Mpenza - Free

View attachment 332266

He isn't an amazing player but will be good backup incase any of my other strikers get injured!

SIGNING TWO!
Cristiano Zanetti - Free!

View attachment 332267

Another backup signing, but he is constantly moaning about not being played enough when I specifically said he would be backup! I will be letting him go when his contract expires.

SIGNING THREE!
Mikel Alonso - Free

View attachment 332268

He has been my best backup player as he has come into the midfield in two games and done a good job covering if anyone has to come off!

SIGNING FOUR!
Rudi Skacel - Free
View attachment 332269

He was originally going to be a first team player but I have better players than him so he is backup as well, luckily he hasn't moaned about playing time!

SIGNING FIVE!
Shaun Cummings - Loan from Reading (22k fee)

View attachment 332270

Backup in defense in case of any injuries as I always seem to slip up because of not having enough backup in the defense!

SIGNING SIX!
Papa Bouba Diop - Free

View attachment 332271

Another backup player, not amazing but I feel he could do alright when needed!

FINAL SIGNING!
Danilo Bueno - Free

View attachment 332272

He is quite a good player but won't be played too often, will most likely replace tired players as a substitute.

THE SQUAD!

View attachment 332273View attachment 332274

As you can see, I have quite a large squad so I don't think I will come into much trouble with lack of players!

TACTIC!

View attachment 332275

You can probably guess why I brought quite a few midfielders as I play a 4-5-1! It has worked well so far as you will see soon with the fixtures!

PRE-SEASON!

View attachment 332276

A positive pre-season with only one loss! Not too many goals though! Onto August!

AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER REVIEW!

Capital One Cup (Round 1)
Ipswich Town 0-1 Swindon

An embarrasing result considering we dominated the game throughout and they only had 5 shots compared to our 20!

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 3-2 Bristol City
Goalscorers: Wordsworth, Chopra and N'Daw

A great result in a match which we completely dominated throughout having 10 more shots than them, but became sloppy at the back!

Npower Championship
Hull City 1-2 Ipswich Town
Goalscorer: Daryl Murphy (2)

A great performance from the lads in a game we went 1-0 down in after just 7 minutes but we equalized just a minute later and controlled the match from then on!

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 0-2 Watford

A broing game with only 10 shots all togethor, but Watford took their small amount of chances, unlike us!

Npower Championship
Millwall 0-1 Ipswich Town
Goalscorer: Lee Martin

A close match which we just won with a goal in the 82nd minute!

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 1-2 Barnsley
Goalscorer: N'Daw

A very poor performance in a game which we should have definitely won! The defense fell apart too many times during the match, and it wasn't a good day for our goalie!

Npower Championship
Bolton 1-3 Ipswich Town
Goalscorers: Daryl Murphy (2), Emmanuel-Thomas

A fantastic performance, pulling off a great win against all odds and a great performance from our man up top; Daryl Murphy!

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 0-1 Notts Forest

A poor performance from Ipswich with only one highlight throughout the whole game, which was the Forest goal!

Npower Championship
Crystal Palace 0-2 Ipswich Town
Goalscorer: Emmanuel Thomas (2)

A great win against a good Crystal Palace team who are fighting for the play offs! Emmanuel-Thomas was on great form as was the rest of the Ipswich sqaud!

So, all in all it has been a good two months, however, we have only won 1 game at home and seem to be playing really badly in front of our homes fans! Something will have to be done about that!

League Table!
View attachment 332277

We are just inside the play off places but it is very close so far, and one slip up and we could go falling down the table!

Stats!
View attachment 332278

Our striker Daryl Murphy is the only player on the stats table so far after a good start getting 4 goals, 2 assists and 2 man of the matches!

Player of the Month!
Daryl Murphy - 4 goals, 2 assists and an average rating of 7.78!

Thank you for reading my first updated! Next one will be at the end of November, so stay tuned!

October/November Review

Npower Championship
Birmingham 0-1 Ipswich Town
Goalscorer: Daryl Murphy
A good result in a which were slightly dominated, however, a win is a win, and that was vital!

View attachment 332443

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 1-1 Brighton
Goalscorer: Emmanuel-Thomas

A close game in which a draw was a fair result but it was a game in which we should have won!

View attachment 332449

Npower Championship
Middlesborough 1-2 Ipswich Town
Goalscorers: Daryl Murphy, Lee Martin

Another good win that kept us up around the top 3! We looked comfortable for about 60 minutes until they scored, then it was backs against the walls!

View attachment 332450

Npower Championship
Peterborough 2-4 Ipswich Town
Goalscorers: Daryl Murphy (2), Lee Martin, Michael Chopra

A fantastic result! Most goals scored for us this season with two goals for our on form target man Murphy! Again, we seem to be having less than 50% possession in most of our games.

View attachment 332451

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 0-0 Leeds

A very bore draw.

View attachment 332453

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 2-1 Leicester
Goalscorers: Daryl Murphy, Lee Martin

A good result for us as we stay in the top two and look like a dominant force so far this season! Also, WE'VE FINALLY BROKEN OUR BAD RUN AT HOME!!

View attachment 332452

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 1-0 Charlton
Goalscorer: Emmanuel-Thomas

Another good win which put us top of the Championship! And it was our 8th game unbeaten! Everything was going well, maybe too well...

View attachment 332454

Npower Championship
Huddersfield 1-0 Ipswich Town

A terrible loss. Our unbeaten run comes to an abrupt end...

View attachment 332456

Npower Championship
Ipswich Town 0-0 Blackburn

A very interesting game to watch, with lots of highlights, but no goals.

View attachment 332457

Npower Championship
Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 Ipswich Town

An utter shambles, a massive disgrace! No wins in three moved us down to 3rd from 1st! And 5 points behind Cardiff!

View attachment 332458

Npower Championship
Derby 2-0 Ipswich Town

Another shambolic performance leaves us down in 5th, 6 points behind Cardiff in first now!

View attachment 332459

And now, a massive game against Cardiff City in first, a vital game to close the game from 6 points to three, can we get the victory?

GOAL - 4 minutes in Heider Helguson puts the home side in front! 1-0 to Cardiff
GOAL - 11 minutes in, 2-0 to Cardiff as Frazer Campbell scores for the home side!
GOAL - 39 minutes in, and it's a goal for Guirane N'Daw!! 2-1, Ipswich are back in this!
GOAL - 45 minutes in, a deadly blow as Kim Bo-Kyung makes it 3-1 to Cardiff City!
GOAL - 46 minutes in, just a few seconds before half time and Fraizer Campbell sends the Cardiff fans into raptures! Ipswich are in all kinds of trouble!
Half Time - Cardiff City 4-1 Ipswich Town
GOAL - 61 minutes in, Michael Chopra scores to make it 4-2, has he sparked an amazing comeback?!
GOAL - 75 minutes in, Wordsworth scores for Ipswich to make it 4-3! If they could get a 4th it would be truly incredible!!
Full Time - Cardiff City 4-3 Ipswich Town
Goalscorers: Guirane N'Daw, Michael Chopra, Anthony Wordsworth

A truly great match, however we just couldn't complete the comeback, I'm happy with the spirit of the team to get some goals back! However, I am extremely angry that we are now 5 wins without a win and 4 losses in my last 5 games!

LEAGUE TABLE!

View attachment 332461

Down 1 place from the last update after 5 games without a win! We were 1st at one point! Still int he play offs though so quite pleased with how things are going, I'm just hoping we can get a win soon otherwise we are in big trouble!

PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR OCTOBER/NOVEMBER!

DARYL MURPHY

View attachment 332463

It was close between him and Lee Martin but he just pipped it for me because some of his goals were vital for us!

Games Played: 12
Goals Scored: 5
MotM's: 1

Thanks for reading, stay tuned for the December/January review!

Bad news, my game crashed so I have gone back 4 games, so I will try to do as badly as possible!

Here we go then, this is the replays of the 4 games that got lost when my computer crashed, originally I lost 3 and drew 1, so lets see how I did this time...

View attachment 332566 So as you can see it was pretty bad again, we got 3 draws this time but lost 5-0 to Cardiff which compared to the 4-3 loss, is quite shambolic! Anyone, we will move on from these results and try and get our good form back!

TABLE!

View attachment 332567
As you can see, we have moved up to 3rd from 5th but there is a 7 point gap between us and 1st and 2nd so we need to buck up our ideas!

Thanks for reading, next update will be soon!

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

Conclusion, you're no tactical genius :p

Anyway, I don't believe I am great at Football Manager but I am a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes so named my manager after him, started this forum to make sure I stay interested and just decided to call it that :D
