Struggling

I've read the guide on importing a personal picture to put on your managers profile - and believe that I have followed the steps there correctly - however, I can't have as I can't get it to work.

I downloaded the XML file - changed the figures contained therein to my unique id (did this in notepad and resaved it as an XML file)

I created a suitable avatar picture and saved it into the same folder as the XML file .....\graphics\me

But when I've clicked confirm after ticking the box marked "Always reload skin on confirm" still nothing seems to happen.

Do I need to restart the game maybe for this to work?

Please let me know as it's quite frustrating - I've had a look round and couldn't see anything apart from the original guide document apologies if I've missed it, or if this is a duplicate post - but if you could point me in the right direction it would be massively appreciated.

Thanks very much for the response - I originally saved it as a .jpg, but realised the error and saved it as a .png - still it doesn't seem to work - I really can't see anything else I'm doing wrong - any feedback would be really great.
