Manchester City have held initial talks with Barcelona over signing striker Samuel Eto'o, BBC Sport understands.

Man city and its fans needs to get their heads out of their arses and start looking at realistic targets jeez. typical losers..

one minute they are signing players like wayne bridge and bellamy and the the other minute they want players like kaka, villa, eto and etc? what the **** is that about!

City have denied the claims. They say it's to 'improve contacts' between the two clubs and nowt to do with Eto'o...

i see..

well man city are still **** anyway
What an idiotic claim. We had a decent UEFA Cup run and we're three points off seventh - a good chance of getting our highest ever finish in the PL.

I'll keep you to this post in two years time, it seems someone is a bit scared/jealous of the £££. :S

are you kidding..lmao

its a matter of a opinion mate..some clubs i hate to bits IS THAT A CRIME I COMMITED? im not scared that man city have £££ money doesnt buy success im MORE SCARED of aston villa and everton who are building strongly MON and moyes are much better managers and have quality squads and look more of a threat to arsenal. Plus sometimes i dont get man city as i said before one minute they sign players like bellamy and bridge then they want kaka, eto, villa and many others gotta be realistic mate

remember when they wanted santa cruz? if man city have limited money why didnt they pay that 2m extra to sign him? abit confusing isnt it?.

hard to take this seriously, He will just reject them like everyone else

money talks man. Im not saying he is a realistic target but money talks. You can see see that City more than likely wont start getting the big name signings besides the odd one here or there that is coming purely for the money for another 5 - 6 years on. But when that time does come we will have a well established team and have gotten rid of much of the fodder that make up our squad.

And Hughes is an idiot I think anyone with half a brain knows that. Get him out, a decent manager that can attract bigger names in and things will not just be tactically smoother but players will come sooner rather than later.

For a minute there I thought you were a sensible city fan, when you acknowledged you wont get the big names right away and it will take some years. But then you criticised Hughes. The man has had two jobs before City, and he's done immense in both of them, (That's Wales and Blackburn for those of you who don't know) and both teams have suffered since he left. Give him time, just like you need time for big names. Like another City fan said above, you could still make seventh and given that he hasn't spent massive amounts given whats available, thats still pretty decent.

aye 7th would be a half decent finish for a side with 1 away win all season
