Welcome to Colombia

Hi there! Welcome to Colombia. My name is Cesar Augusto Montes Meteo Chaguala Santi, but dont worry, you can call me Santi! You have probably never heard of me, and I dont blame you, who has ever heard of some random 16 year old Colombia kid? Well, one day I hope that will change. I dream of playing my football in Europe with the big names such as Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar.

Right now though, I play for a small team in Colombia called Patriotas Boyaca. I have been here since the age of 10, and I am so glad was given the opportunity to play for them. My father had a huge influence in getting me a place at the club. I just wish he was still here to see me now. You see, he got caught up in the middle of a shoot out a village between to rival drug gangs. I was with him at the time, we were going to get some food with the little money we had. When the bullet hit him...that sense of helplessness....but anyway, thats the past now. And since that day, I have vowed to make my father proud, and thats exactly what I am going to do.

This is me. I have been told I have superb potential, and could be one of the best in the world. I am amazed at how well I have been treated by the staff here at Patriotas. If I one day do reach the heights they think I can, I will owe them a great deal.

So, how about you? Do you think I will be a top footballer and do my father proud?

First Season

So, I have finished my first season in football, and it went pretty well I think. I had my great debut in the second game of the season, coming on in the 79th minute of the game, and assisting a goal and scoring one and also winning the man of the match award! All in the space of 11 minutes. (Match Report) I went on to make 20 appearances in total that season and also made 18 substitute appearances. IN that time is scored 11 goals and got 7 assists.

I also attracted the attention of several big clubs including Barcelona and F.C Twente. I was amazed in the interest in me, and I really hope a move to Europe would materialize. In the end it did, in the form of a bit of 175k from Athletico Madrid. I signed a 2 year deal with them worth 4.2k a week.

I was then loaned back to Patriotas for another season there. I am hoping to have another good season there, and then return back to Spain for my first season in Europe.

I know you don't make the decisions but why would you choose Atletico Madrid over Barcelona? :p
