STREAKY'S EURO EXPEDITION...

Europa%2BJunior%2Bmapa.jpg

Welcome to my second attempt of this story. My previous effort, Streaky's Journey, was a story and save that I was very much enjoying, but after a few seasons I got thinking that the leagues I'd loaded up were the usual well known countries and my story was becoming stale. So I used it as more of a trial and error save, tweaking formations and experimenting with how I posted my updates to help freshen up this story.

This time round I've loaded up 42 leagues from 14 nations, with a large database and my experience will still be set as semi-professional footballer, as that's the level I've played regularly and now currently coach.

LEAGUES LOADED:

Playable:-

Belarus - Belgium - England - Germany - Israel - Russia - Spain - Turkey

View Only:-

Croatia - Denmark - France - Italy - Norway - Sweden

The reason behind loading England, Germany and Spain, apart from having the 3 top leagues in Europe in the game, is if I get an opportunity to work in either of these countries, it would be for a club that hasn't had much success or is not that well known and look to build something special there. Alternatively I may never work in them, as I may find a team that I'm enjoying managing and may decide to stay there instead and build a successful team, before possibly trying my luck in another country.

All in all, with the view only leagues loaded too, which will give me more nations to manage in at some point if I choose, I feel this story/save will offer me many options to keep mine and hopefully your enjoyment throughout, as I embark on my new journey.

OBJECTIVES:

* Attempt to become a managerial legend and work my way to the top of the FM'14 Hall of Fame.

* Look to work with some of the biggest names in the footballing world, either as a player in my squad or as part of my coaching staff.

* Develop and create numerous wonderkids by improving the clubs youth facilities, to help raise the profile of the club I'm managing and also to help the various national teams.

* I can only apply for a new job once I've won a competition. If I get approached by a team before I achieved winning a trophy and the offer will help further my career, I may choose to attend the interview or I can decline and carry on at the current club.

* I can apply for and manage a national team, but I must accept the first offer I receive.

* To change national team, I must help them qualify for a tournament, with the likelihood I'll stay for the duration of the competition before deciding what to do next.

* The story will end if I get sacked 3 times.

SOOOOOO LET'S BEGIN...

Comments and Likes always welcome. (H)

FIRST JOB!!

VOLNA PINSK - 1 year contract
Belarusian First League

MEET THE TEAM:

I've decided to start off in Belarus, I don't think many people have managed there, but if you have, any feedback would be great. As it's the lowest ranked playable country that I have loaded up, I'm really starting from the bottom.

Volna Pinsk are predicted to finish 15th in the league out of the 16 teams and also have a very youthful team, so I will have a challenge on my hands in my first job.
There finances aren't great either, so I will have to rely on free transfers and loans to help me improve the team and attempt to win their first ever trophy.

THE SQUAD:

View attachment 450597

Overall the team doesn't look too bad on paper and with the right players brought in to add more quality and depth to the squad, hopefully we could surprise a few. The IF is with no money to spend and a low wage budget can I attract players to join us.

KEY PLAYERS:

View attachment 450596View attachment 450595View attachment 450594

Iliya Tsyvilko - I'm hoping Iliya will be our rock at the heart of the defence, still only young and the potential to be a top player.

Eduard Chudnovsky - On loan from BATE, will be responsible for bringing some quality to our midfield, both in attacking and defensive areas.

Nikolay Fastov - Our stand out player and one that already has attracted interest from teams in the higher division. Hopefully I can persuade him to stay, as he'll be our main attacking threat.

STAFF:

View attachment 450590

Most of the current staff are fine for the time being, but I will be looking to improve a couple areas, most notably bringing in a better coach, physio and scout. With a number of good young players yet to reach their potential, it's crucial that I bring in quality to help develop their abilities further, especially as some of them will be thrown into first team action, due to the tight transfer/wage budgets I currently have.

MY THOUGHTS:

I feel if the players quickly adapt and become familiar with the formations that they will be asked to play in, plus if I can add a couple of new additions to the squad, we can have a good season. The teams in the league are fairly even, with the exception of Gorodeya and Granit Mikashevichi who are tipped to be challenging for promotion and with only one guaranteed promotion place for the winners and a promotion playoff for the team who finishes in 2nd, it's going to be extremly challenging to get out the division.

Looks like this will be good. Following :)

Cheers buddy, although I was really enjoying my last story, felt I needed to freshen it up a bit, so hence why I've gone down this route instead. Hope you'll enjoy. Thanks. :)

TRANSFER NEWS:

IN:

View attachment 450270

Vasiliy joins on a free transfer and will offer us quality in both wide areas and also in the shadow striker role, should I decide to change formation at anytime. This signing has wiped out my wage budget and currently I can't even bring players in on loan due to the budget restrictions, so I'll have to make do with my current squad as we head into the opening league matches.

OUT:

To make room for some extra wage funds I released Alexandr Shvaybovich on a free, as he won't feature in my squad at anytime, due to our youth players being able to provide better cover.

INJURY NEWS:

At the end of our pre-season matches I was dealt a huge blow when our key left winger Nikolay Fastov picked up a groin strain and was ruled out for 3 weeks. To make matters worse in form striker Yuriy Korolyuk suffered a thigh strain ruling him out for 2 weeks. Both players though, have now returned to training, but unfortunately will miss our opening game against SKVICh at the weekend.

Haha, I know, huge crowds in the Belarusian first division, lol. Having said that when I managed in the Swedish second division I was getting crowds of around 50, so this is a huge improvement. :p

Cheers for your comment mate, appreciate it. :)

Nice start mate! Haven't had the chance to be on lately so it's decent to see you've made a start.:)

MONTHLY REVIEW:

A great start to the season and we are currently playing above expectations. We should however be joint top, but we slipped up against Slonim, where we couldn't beat 10 men. Despite that result, the players have started to adapt quite comfortably to the defensive counter attack formation I've decided to play and I hope we can continue our form, especially with the absence of Vasiliy and Nikolay.

No mate - my hard drive has completely crashed and I've had to reload everything - sadly losing saves (including personal ones). I'm looking to start another story but really not sure on what atm. Usually my problem is that I struggle to settle with a team but atm I'm settling with just about every team. I think if I do another it's going to be in the premier league or the MLS - so it's down to whether people would be interested in either or not really.

Ahh rubbish, sorry to hear that buddy! You know me I'd defo be following. What about starting with a side that hasn't had any success or premier league experience, like Yeovil Town, be a club legend and build something special!!! Just an idea.

Yeah, cheers dude! Think I want to be in the Premier League straight away :/ I know people like harder challenges etc but the PL is really attracting me - may look at teams that have been in the division for a while but have had little or no success

Yeah understand that mate, just thought in a season or 2 could get a championship side in the PL and build something, but can see the attraction to start with a team already in the PL. Maybe a Norwich or Fulham and be Rene Meulensteen!!

MONTHLY REVIEW:

A good month on the whole, with the squad becoming more familiar to the tactics and formations I've implemented. We had a nice result in the cup and will play Gomel, who play in the highest division, in the next round, which will be a great opportunity to test ourselves against better opposition.
The only negative was the loss against Smolevichi, where we dominated for large periods, but couldn't find the break through, meaning the gap at the top was now 6 points.
