I've played football manager for years, I've never been amazing but I've managed to win promotions, cups and titles etc.

But this game, I can barely win anymore, I get sacked before Christmas on nearly every save I attempt!

What I want to know is, what is so different about this game that makes it so damned hard?

I'm not even kidding i've read every tactic guide and the like out there, i've used the editor to try and give me an edge (don't hate) and still I have no success!

What am I missing that makes this game so difficult?

The match engine is different I wouldn't say it's broken though, i'm just struggling to get the best tactics to cope with it!

But with all the bugs is impossible playing just like we want.

The ME in this years game is mind numbing. I mean I've won the league by 25 points with Ajax, next season I was 16th in the table after 5 matches. It just seems SI wanted a more reactive match engine like how tactics are edited depending on opponent in real life. However them focusing on that has left a lot of bugs making it even harder to get to grips with the new style of ME

It happens, its only 5 games anyway no league is that long ....

A hundred things could explain why you're doing much worse now, one thing's for sure, you can't trade off past glories. Ask United

I've found the only way for prolonged success is constant rotation of tactics. I've 5 tactics I use in constant rotation over a 2-3 year period

This is true, I find a gradual evolution is good, my Yeovil story for instance started with 4-4-2 Standard/Rigid and has moved towards a 4-2-2-2 Attacking/Fluid
