Decreasement of star and value inspite of performance

So I left Real Madrid after my contract expired and went to AS Monaco (cause of $$$$$). The team there was fantastic and i bought James Rodriguez (was sold) cause he was the star player in the world finishing 2nd in Ballon d'or from Chelsea. His value was 30millions and had a contract of 4 years.
I have spent now 1 and 1/2 year there and the James Rodriguez has now 2 * ability and potential and value of 5 million. His attributes are top class and his performance have been very helpul (avg. rating is 7.66). His age is young (28). I wonder what has caused this. Is this any bug. ??? Or just due to ageing

he's not getting enough accolades or your team rep isn't that high. ageing and contract length can have a hand in that as well. As for the stars, I'd not look into that too much.

It may or maybe not the reason as the only stood 2nd in world player of the year and that too a large extent because of his performance in world cup.
You mean that a person with high attributes but low star may be better than a person of the same age with more stars but less attributes???
