Hi guys

I am looking for some advice/suggestions as regards my striker dilemma.

I'm just starting my third season with Southampton (first LFC Marshall summer update). I finished second in both of my previous seasons, and so have a reasonably high profile.

I can't seem to find a striker though - and need one urgently. I play a 4-3-2-1 (with a DM and Inside forwards). My striker role is false 9. I have £40m to spend, and could raise more by selling Wanamaya if needed (doesnt really fit my midfield roles of regista, Box to box and advanced play maker).

I played Jay Rodriguez and Dani Osvaldo there up to this (Osvaldo was pushing on and wanted to sell while I could get some value and Rodriguez only had a year left one wouldnt sign due to some "issues" we were having so I also sold him while I could).

I now have nobody for striker but Gabigol (Gabriel Barobosa). He had a decent season as my youth option last year but isn't ready to lead the line.

I do have Bernard and Kevin De Bruyne who are both reasonly competent as striker, and have the stats for either false 9 or treq roles (as an alternative). I've never re-trained somebody as a striker though, and I am not sure if its advisable to rely on a re-purposed midfielder as your main striker - especially as I really want to push on and try and win the league this year.

The only reasonable option for F9 i can find is Nicolas Castillo from Brugge - but he isnt the headline name i really want. I can also get Angelo henriquez from Utd for 15m, but (a) F9 isn't his best role (though he has decent stats for it) and (b) he's still more potential than ability, so i will need to allow him time to develop.

I could also get sturridge for 25m, but he wants 100k wages. Im paying De Bruyne, Ross Barkley and Phil Jones high money so don't want to stretch that far on him - especially since liverpool didnt play him much so he hasnt developed as he might have.

So, should I persist with re-training one of Bernard or De Bruyne? Take a punt on Henriquez?

or any other suggestions in F9, Treq, or even DLF roles?

Donis Advijaj is a treq I think. You might want to check him out

Advijaj is again more potential than ability at this stage.

I'm looking to kick on and try and win the league, so need somebody who can make an immediate impact.

Vietto?

Kevin Volland as a treq works wonders for me with hoffenheim

Unfortunately Atletico snapped Volland up for £12m at the start of the game, and now won't sell him at all.

Vietto is also a but raw.

I am thinking of going with De Bruyne/Bernard with Gabigol as an option too. Ajax also have a four star Brazilian prospect called Kenedy who I might take as a youth option as well, and that will leave me with enough cash to buy Benzia and loan him out for a few years to generate some income and a nice future fee (4 1/2 star potential but doesn't for my system).

Imanol Agirretxe from Real sociedad can play the F9 role really well. Cheap also. Have a look.
