Hey guys,

Simple thread really. I've always trained with focus/intensity at fitness/high during pre-season and balanced/average(or high) during the season, with players being trained on either their player roles (average, or low if trained in new position) or to improve a specific attribute and it's generally been pretty successful, providing the players are getting a decent amount of game time.

Question is, what have people found is the best combination? Ie do you have low training intensity yet high focus on player role/attribute improvement or the opposite to maximise development? Just struggling to find a thread with a sure-fire training regime to improve players. I understand tutoring and playing time as well as coaches and facilities are the big deals but does anyone have any tips to improve players stat-wise without compromising on fitness/form?

Thanks.

The way you're training at the moment seems fine. I chnage general training intensity to low if I'm playing a lot of mid week games, but that's just a personal preference.

When focusing on one specific attribute I always use high, average for most on a role. Unless it's a young player who won't get loads of game time I'll give him high.

I tend to sue a lot of team cohesion during preseason especially if I've brought in a lot of new players. My dressing room atmosphere is always praised by the board.

I then use a lot of friendlies. A few for the first team and quite a few for the 2nd team, so I can target individual players and get everyone match fit. Usually manage in time, though sometimes I struggle to get the 3rd GK ready
