Sorry for double post, not sure which section is best/suitable!

Hi all

This is becoming really, really frustrating! I was with Leeds for about 6 seasons, I got them into the PL, the highest I got was about 8th... then the next season i dropped completely to 12 or 13 and couldn't win.

Portsmouth offered me a job, so I went with them after being lured with a big transfer and wage budget. I still cant seem to win consistantly .. I have tried every tactic under the sun, even downloaded ones that are proven to be unbeatable!

What really gets me is one game I win 0 - 2 away at Arsenal, then the next I lose 4 - 0 or something stupid! I can't figure it out, its driving me up the wall... Has anyone got any general advice on what could be causing this? Or a recommended tactic? I don't know if pasting my current ones here will help as I have tried so many that work for anyone else... its weird! I am in the year 2017 or 2018, would this effect the game maybe?

any advice wuold be great, thanks

What influence does your captain have?
Are you constantly shifting tactics (you imply that you are), and not allowing the team to gel together using one solid formation/set of instructions?
Are your players struggling for motivation under your leadership?
Is the morale of your team low?

Those are a few things that can have adverse effects.

My captain I have not changed sicne joining the club, however I may look at that.

Tactics - I try to stay consistant, however when I come up against a big team and its away, I may change them to try be more defensive.. do you recommend just leaving it as the one tactic? Do you change massively for those games or stick to your guns?

I tend to stick with the same basic formation each game, maybe switching in a Sweeper occasionally if necessary. As for my tactics, they do get changed on a game per game basis, depending on the opposition I am facing... but they remain the same usually if I have a run of games vs. worse/better opposition.

As long as you are staying relatively consistent with your tactics/formation, I imagine it's a motivational issue, or a problem with morale. They are closely linked issues anyway.

I see, that makes sense. I would like to stick with the same formation to be honest - tactics make more difference than the formation? I mean would it be wiser to go to a tough game using 4-4-2 isntead of 4 defenders, 1 DM, 2 CM, 1 AML, 1 AMR and the striker?

I even try watch the full game to see where we go wrong but I just cant pick it - maybe im **** at reading the game I don't know.. I think it may be tactical consistancy that may be the problem. What tactics do you use?

what are the main tactics you change for each game and what are some of hte things about the opposition that would opt for you to change a certain thing?

Thanks for your time, its appreciated!
