Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but the False 9 should sit deeper (closer to the midfield) and link up play than the DLF, correct? I had a flat 4141 that was using a False 9 and the play would be very hot or cold. Either the F9 was isolated and contributed absolutely nothing, or just completely dominated.

I changed to a DLF-S for a bit and had a stark difference in consistency. I couldn't tell really with the naked how if the DLF sat THAT much deeper, but it seemed to work much, much better as a lone striker for the flat 4 in the midfield.

a dlfs is a number ten, that is supposed to work in a creator scorer partnership, him being the creator, while a false nine is supposed to work in a false nine-false ten partnership, false ten being shadow striker for example. DLF can use a winger as a number nine, false 9 can't...in both cases, they work best with flexible, fluid or very fluid team shape...They are both equally good, you just need to set up your style and formation and other roles correctly...

Thanks, that makes quite a bit more sense. I have two WP's on the wings in the central midfield and the DLF plays them and the CM-A in quite a bit more than the F9 did.

Wish I had figured that out sooner. Haha.
