Techniques to find World Class Regens.

Fellow managers,

Over a glance on the forums, people all over FM-Base are struggling to find class Regens. As we all know, the game virtually runs on Regens after 4 or 5 seasons. So, you need techniques to find these gems, and this thread is here for you to get some of these techniques. I call upon you members to share your techniques and ways of finding good Regens. Don't be a smartass and say that you hired the greatest scout in the World and left it too him, i want DIY solutions.. Like this one..

This is a DIY. technique. Thats the only way in which, you find the best regens. Heres my technique:

  • Go to 'Search Players'
  • Go to the filters
  • Clear your filter
  • Then press to edit it.
  • Select that the age must be at most 20.
  • And value at least 1 Million £.
  • Then press 'ok'
  • Next, you will have a lot of results.
  • Click the top of the 'age' column, to bring you the youngest lads at the top.
  • Scroll down, always click on the names that are valued at a lot.
  • Then, when you find one that looks good, or your interested about..
  • Then, Click the 'Scouting' to bring down a menu.
  • Hover over the 'Get Scout Report' to bring another menu.
  • Click your BEST scout.
  • Then, when you have done this for the regens you like or are interested in.
  • Click 'continue' to progress the game.
  • After a day or two, you will have a lot of emails from your best scout with reports of EVERY regen you choose. These will include there potential abilities, positions, stats, strengths and transfer details.
With this, i found some of the greatest in the game. The scout compares with your best player at the club, in the position the regen is in. It makes my day when i find random gems that are known to be as good as, if not better, than the biggest names in football, of course, my technique isn't the best, regens that are 16 and valued at 2Mil+ will most likely be at a high reputation club, and may not want to move to your club.

So, share your techniques on this thread, to stop everyone for making an individual thread.

Please make directions and instructions on how to do your technique, possibly screen shots aswell.

Heres another, The U-21/U-18 technique:

  • Type a random country into the search bar.
  • Click the country you searched.
  • Go to the U-21/U-20/U-18 sqauds.
  • Then, click the top of the VALUE column.
  • This will bring up the best valued players at the top.
  • Then, click the top player, if he looks good, take it further.
  • If he doesn't, then go back to the sqaud screen of the age group you selected.
  • Then, top left there is the country emblem with two arrows either side, click the right arrow, it will take you to the next country's sqaud, and the person with the top value is at the top.
  • Click on him and check him out.
  • Do this for a number of countries to find the best valued youths playing at international level.
  • Scout report each one you find, or just bid away. Your choice.
Thats all for now, i will update the thread and add more techniques as i find them, but don't forget to share yours with a comment! Any off topic posts will cause we to argue, i happen to be amazing at argueing. ;)

I hope you get it soon mate :) You will enjoy it.
And, theres plently of good regens on FM09. They all seem to be from Europe, not Brazil. But, keep checking :) Tell me if you get any gems' :D
 
Why don't you send your scouts out too look for them, usually find top class regen from the likes of Partizan, ASEC, BATE Borisov, Hearts of Oak etc.

Because.. In the first few seasons in the game, the scouts only give the feedback you ALREADY know.. Mine keep recommending Paloschi and Balotelli. Even after 4 seasons. My scouts recommend players i already know about. And half of them are the best on the game, signed from Fiorentina, Roma and Arsenal..

regens do my nut. why can't existing young players ever get that good? makes training redundant.

You obviously haven't looked into the German and French U-18 year olds.. Regens are created straight away. Theres bound to be a good one.. oO)

A few players do turn out pretty well. But then you can find Regens that have the skill of a 28 year old at age 17. :$

i know, that's what i mean. you're playing a low rep euro team from Bulgaria, and they whip out this wonderkid from the AI's own RTE, and he makes a mug of your side...
 
Spain Under 19s is usually a great place to pick up free regens. They usually get dropped by Barca and Madrid and are young and cheap. VERY VERY good tactic if you are a very small club. However it gets really difficult to hang onto them after 2-3 years.

Yep. The first regens are created using Germany and France. Next is Spain. It's a common pattern you should see when looking for them, they all seem to be German and French. :)
And, yeah. Its difficult to hold onto them if your a lower league. But then you usually sell them for 100-300% of what you brought them for. Its a win, win situation. You either get a brilliant player or get a chunk of profit. (H)

A lot of people do. Its just a thread to clear up people making threads asking for help to find them. But yeah, a lot of people use this, shows they play the game, they don't leave 100% to the scouts.
