Do Saved Games Corrupt a Lot?

Getting FM10 for Christmas and so have been reading this forum with interest. One common theme I have noticed, especially on the story forum, is people mentioning their saved games corrupting and being unable to load them.

Is this a common problem in the game? Has it bene addressed in the recent patch? Or is "the saved game no longer loads" just an accepted euphamism for "I don't want to play this saved game/continue this story any more"

I have had FM10 since release day and have NEVER had a save corrupt. I think it's an excuse for when they don't wish to continue their stories anymore personally.

I'm guessing some people use it as an excuse to not continue their stories but it certainly is a problem, a small but serious one. Just use a three file rolling autosave so if one corrupts you always have a backup.

Me too, I bought FM on release day, and non of my games have ever corrupted.

Its never happened to me yet. It only happens when you start using the data editor and stuff, some things are just best left alone.

mine was corrupted just today, and i didnt want to stop with my game. Its annouying, there seems to be no reason for it and it happens at random. I would suggest, which is what im going to do, is when you save your game as say Career, save it again as Career Backup. Then you have two, its doubtful they will both corrupt at the same time, or, never overwrite a save file, also do a fresh save. So the first time you save do career, then the next time career 1, then career 2 and so on. I think the files become corrupt from saving on them too often. Just a guess like

I have never experienced a corrupt saved game on FM. But I still use a rolling auto-save that keeps regular back-ups.

it can corrupt, happened to me twice so now i have backup

It has only happened to me once and i got fm 10 on release day but that was on a database that I edited so that was probably the reason

i suppose its a bit of both but i was quite angry when it genuinely happened to my koln story......ive only had it happen once

i havnt used the editopr and i have corrupted files. Good job I save it across 3 files

Okay, thanks for sharing your experiences everyone. Sounds like it is a problem, but maybe not a big one. I'll just keep rolling backups

I had one corruption and that was with a Newcastle story but apart from that, nothing.
