I have created some new world leagues based on club reputations which all work fine and I have tried to create a champions league style cup for the top 8 teams or so in each leagues to qualify for. Ive set it to pick 32 teams overall and I have set it to 8 groups with two qualifying from each group, just like the champions league. I have set the dates of the group stage and the cup stage but when I go to test the rules it says the cup won't work.
The error message says "number of teams in 1st round (16) doesnt match the number of extra teams (0) and number of teams from previous rounds (0)".
I assume the issue is to do with the cup stage and it doesnt realise that the 16 teams will come from the group stages.
Its completely fine as a straight knockout cup and works perfectly but I want to get it to a group and knockout style cup.
Can anyone help with this issue? I have tried advanced rules but have had no luck getting it to work.
