Press Conferences

How do people go about press conferences before games? I've generally mixed it up with mixed results. Not sure if anyone has found a winning formula of how to go about answering questions that always get a good reaction from the players. Is there any difference between home and away games? Should you always be optimistic or negative?

Any findings would be great.

Depends, surely? Do the players need confidence or do they need to keep their focus/be challenged? Context is everything.
