Hi all,

I was wondering if it would be possible (or if it has been done already) to recreate the old Europacup I, II and III.
These would then replace the current Champions League and Europa League.

The formats how I want to see it:

Europacup I:
Containing only Champions of a country
1 Play-off round with 32 teams (seeded by country coefficient)
Group phase: 4 groups of 4 teams, 2 best of each group advance, 3 and 4 eleminated from Europe (no back-up tournament)
Knock-Out rounds: QF and SF with home and away games, Final on neutral ground

Top 16 countries are placed in the play-off round automatically, all other countries' Champions have to play prelimenary rounds untill 16 teams are left for the play-off round

Europacup II:
Containing only the Cup winners of a country
Same format as Europacup I

Europacup III:
2nd, 3rd, 4th placed teams (depending on country coefficient) + drop-outs of EC I and II
Format: 64 teams (32 drop-outs of EC I and II play-off + 32 qualified teams)
Straight knock-out competition: Round of 64, Round of 32, QF, SF with home and away games
Final to be played on neutral ground in 1 game.

Prize money: Total price money currently in Europe = 100%
EC I: 50%
EC II: 30%
EC III: 20%

There is a custom database on the steam workshop named Europokal 90er jahre, which replicates in some measure what you want.
cheers!
