after 11 years in the top flight, middlesbroughs fate was decided in a away defeat at west ham united on may 29th 2009.

After the game on boro.tv middlesbrough chairman steve gibson called an interview to be radio broadcasted at half 5 to local listeners and boroworld subscribers.

The first question

" After todays sickening game at upton park what is your immediate reaction to your beloved middlesbrough been relegated from the premier league after 11 years?"

gibson responded to this by sayin "although we hae been relegated, we ad a very youthful and inexperienced squad that couldnt perform under pressure but res assure we will be back better than ever this is just the beginning of a very succesful club"

the second question

"will there be any changes to the backroom staff or to the playing staff and is there any truth in the sacking of Gareth Southgate?"

"well as we all know gareth has been a club legend, but only as a player. As the club manager he didnt lie up to the hopes i had for him and hes only young with a lot to learn im confident he can be a succesful manager in the long term but right now we need a fresh start. The rumors are correct and i can confirm that Gareth Southgate has been stripped of his managerial role at this club and i will be looking to appoint a new manager as soon as i can."

Middlesbrough football club appoint Josh blades as the clubs new manager.

In his first interview as manager Mr Blades was asked how does it feel to sit here knowing that all the pressure is on you and your expectation are to be promoted within the first season ?

he simply responded with " I was appointed the manager of this club due to the fact im a boro born lad and i know what the fans want as a club we have missed out on the magic spark, i have the full backing from the board and i hope i have the fans backing as well, i have been given a budget of 2 million to spend on players and i will look to make use of the money.
