Rossoneri adjusting fine under Julio Rodriguez

After nearly 6 months under the guidance of the world renowned custodianship of Julio Rodriguez, the former Spanish player, AC Milan have been steady and able to beat teams. He has also been able to reignite the talent of the likes of Mattia Destro and Stephan El-Sharaawy, who have scored 12 goals already between them. This article will detail the workings of the Spaniards first few months in charge of the world famous red and blacks.

Incoming players

- Sergi Samper - Loan for a season from Barcelona
The young Spanish under 21 international came to Milan as the first signing of 'Rodri' and has adapted wonderfully to the system of his compatriot as the deeper lying play-maker with his calm passing and no-nonsense style.

- Ishak Belfodil - 5 million Euros from Parma
The Algerian international came to the San Siro under heated circumstances as the former Inter man was seen as a waste of money and that he lacked the edge that others, such as the newly departed Giampaolo Pazzini, had. He has, however, proven a reasonable acquisition for the Rossoneri front line with 3 goals in 4 starts and an average rating of 7.40. He is seen as another option to Mattia Destro and as an option for the future.

- Gorka Elustondo - Loan for a season from Real Sociedad
Another, emergency, option for the Defensive positions in the team and has failed to set the world alight in his time since his arrival.

- Lacina Traore - 2.9 million Euros from AS Monaco
A panic signing when Mattia Destro was ruled out for a spell but has failed to make any mark and may never do so, only time will tell.

All other signings were either made as future signings or punts on potential squad members.

Outgoing players
- Michael Essien - Free transfer (Now at Stade Rennais)
His wages were extortionate and was allowed to leave on a free transfer after Samper was acquired.
- Phillipe Mexes - Free transfer to Everton
He was also on ridiculous money and as such was allowed to leave to free up more funds for extra additions to the squad.
- Giampaolo Pazzini - 1 Million Euros
He was also on a large wage and was allowed to leave. He is now performing well for his new side but the Milan fans will feel as though the time was right to allow him to leave for pastures new.

All other deals were loans and none of them were very important.

This performance of the team in this early period has been sensational, given how badly they had performed in the years before.
Best game so far
Fiorentina - AC Milan
1 - 4
This game started off poorly as the home team pressed their advantage and it looked as though the Milan of old had returned and cast their old spell. However, the team started to look like the Milan of ten years ago when a corner was whipped in and was met by the ever impressive Adil Rami to level up the game. This was succeeded by a spell of great play by the Rossoneri which led to three goals in the next 12 minutes. This second half performance was a classic and may not be seen again for a while in Florence.

Worst game so far
AC Milan - Juventus
1 - 2
If the comeback against Florence was the best game so far, the collapse at home to the champions Juventus was the worst. The team failed to work as a unit to halt the Old Lady and they were pegged back in the space of 13 minutes by the play of Claudio Marchisio and Nicolas Nkoulou. The less said the better but it was a blip and the team have bounced back since this result.

Where do they find themselves.....

In short, TOP, but it can't be read into too much as the season is still young and many games are left to play before the Rossoneri, sorry a team, are crowned champions.

Tune in for the January special to find out if the team can continue their rapid start.
Rossoneri out
