Hello and welcome to my final Football Manager 2015 story, that is until 2016 version comes out!

My story this time will be slightly different to my previous attempts and also different to the other stories on the board. The difference will be that I won't be managing in one of Europes top leagues, nor will I be doing a lower league challenge.

So you may be wondering 'what kind of story is this then?'

Well the answer is I'll be attempting the 'World League' challenge!

The 'World League' is where the worlds top team have been put in a league format to battle it for supremacy.

PREMIER LEAGUE
View attachment 233952

As you can see, the top 18 teams in world football (based on reputation) have been entered into the 'Premier League' with the obvious favourites being Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

This is almost like a league format of the Champions League, although the whole world are invited which gives the likes of Corinthians a chance to play more competitive football.

So, you're next question may be 'Who will you be managing while playing this brilliant idea?'

Well the answer is ...

Liverpool Football Club!

This will be a real challenge, Liverpool aren't one of the favourites and are only really predicted to finish mid-table so it will be interesting how we can match up against the biggest sides in the world.

I hope you all enjoy and please feel free to give any kind of feedback ... good or bad!

This is actually a really cool idea :D. Might do something like this (privately, don't have the time for a story :D)

Did you just use the editor to do this?

BIG CHANGES AT LIVERPOOL

View attachment 233920

This season is a big change for Liverpool Fc, not only are they partaking in the newly formed 'World League' but they've also seen the back of influential midfielder and legend of the club, Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard leaves the club after joining La Galaxy to start his American dream.

Liverpool have also been busy bringing players into the club by signing 7 first team players. The biggest transfer of the lot comes in the shape of Christian Benteke who signs from Aston Villa for £32.5 million.

The signing of Roberto Firminio came a close second by signing for £29 million from German side Hoffenheim. Firminio's still young but showed great promise in the German league last season, hopefully he can replicate this form in the 'World League'.

England international's Nathaniel Clyne, Danny Ings and James Milner also signed, with Clyne costing just over £12 million and both Ings and Milner on free transfers. Although the transfer for Ings is yet to to a tribunal as the player is under 23 years old.

The final two signings both came from the Championship as Adam Bogdan signs from Bolton to offer competition to Simon Mingolet while Joe Gomez signs from Charlton. Joe Gomez signs with great potential after breaking into Charlton's first team.

Might have to download it then. I look forward to following your story :)

I downloaded that database a while ago and started as Liverpool, didn't play so much as a single day though. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for following :) will hopefully get an update up tonight, might even be able to include the first league game :)

Right so then, I thought the first job to do was to look into the squad at my disposal ...

View attachment 233659

On the whole the squad looks pretty strong! We arguably look strongest up-front with Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings, Christian Benteke, Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli (although I'll probably look to get rid of the last 2).

We look decent in central area as well, espcially with attacking midfielders. Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana are all plenty good enough and can play centrally put all prefer to be push further forward as possible.

Its out wide I fear for us a little, the 3 players just mentioned can all play out wide but it definitely isn't their preference and they'd always look at cutting inside.

Central midfield looks to partner James Milner with Jordan Henderson, although they lack serious competition with only Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva the only other options.

The defence looks okay with Sahko, Lovren and Srktel battling it out to start at center half. The full backs also looks pretty good with Nathanial Clyne one of the best English right backs whilst Alberto Moreno looks to have decent potential and good pace.

Simon Minoglet seems to be the only goalkeeper worth mentioning in the first team squad. Adam Bogdan is the only back-up but I really can't see him cutting it at this level.

UNDER 21 SQUAD

View attachment 233657

We've definitely got some great youth players to keep an eye on.

Tiago Ilori, Joe Gomez, Ryan Kent and Sheyi Oji look to be the best prospects, all of which have been given 4.5 stars as a potential ability.

Other players to keep an eye on is Jordan Ibe, Jon Flanagan and Jerome Sinclair.

TOP 3 PLAYERS

DANIEL STURRIDGE
View attachment 233647

Striker Daniel Sturridge is probably the best player in the squad!

Sturridge scored an incredible 21 goals from 29 appearances after joining from Chelsea, however he really struggled last season due to constant injuries. He's fit at the minute and if he can stay fit all season then he should thrive.

PHILLIPE COUTINHO
View attachment 233645

Phillipe Coutinho is the player that pulls all the strings just behind the strikers, he'll have a much easier job if it's Sturridge that making the runs in-front of him.

He's still only 22 so has plenty of time to improve, if anything it's probably just his consistency that needs to be improved.

JORDAN HENDERSON
View attachment 233644

Jordan Henderson is the main man in midfield now that Steven Gerrard's left. He's been learning of the best and started to replace Gerrard as captain towards the end of last season. He's favorite to continue as captain and be even more influential this term.

TOP 3 YOUNG PLAYERS

LAZAR MARKOVIC
View attachment 233623

I'm surprised to include Lazar Markovic in this list after his less than successful first season at Anfield.

He looks to have great potential though as a 20 year old. His best position is probably right wing but he can play anywhere down the right hand side and can even play upfront.

RYAN KENT
View attachment 233622

Ryan Kent is surely the most unknown out of this list.

The young lad (17) and is yet to make his professional debut. He's only 17 years old but already has 14 for pace and 15 for acceleration.

JOE GOMEZ
View attachment 233621

Joe Gomez is the final player included here after just signing from Charlton.

Gomez again is only 17 but already looks far more progressed than Kent at a similar age, this is probably because he's already made 21 appearances for Charlton, albeit at a much lower standard than we'll be in this season.

Joe can play either right back or center back but seems to much prefer a central role.

LIVERPOOL HAVE OFFER ACCEPTED FOR SAMI KHEDIRA

Real Madrid have confirmed they have accepted an offer from Liverpool for want-away midfielder, Sami Khedira.

The sum is believed to be around £12 million to be paid up-front with a further £2 million in add on's.

Khedira is in the last year of his contract and is expected to leave the club this summer.

It won't be straight forward for Liverpool however as Juventus and Napoli have also expressed an interest, although neither are yet to make an offer.

LIVERPOOL, ARSENAL AND CHELSEA ALL TRIGGER RELEASE CLAUSE FOR RAFINHA

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have all triggered a release clause for Barcelona midfielder, Rafinha which is believed to be around £22 million.

Rafinha now has a tough decision as all three sides are keen to capture his signature.

However, Barcelona are said to want to keep the Brazilian to compete with Xavi, Iniesta and Rakitic.

Barcelona have set a deadline of next week for the young midfielder to make a decision on his future.

View attachment 233333

This came as a real blow to us to be honest, and I dare say Chelsea and Arsenal feel the same way.

I was really hopeful Rafinha would join us this season as we offered him a cracking deal in the hope he'd reject the other 3 offers he had.

Instead he's stayed at the Nou Camp to play second fiddle to main midfielders their. Also they only offered him £18k per week which he's accepted.

It's a shame but they're are plenty of other options to go for.

LIVERPOOL COMPLETE DOUBLE SIGNING.

Liverpool have completed the double signing of Jesus Vallejo and Sami Khedira from Zaragoza and Real Madrid respectively.

Sami Khedira signs from Real Madrid for a fee of £12 million which could rise a further £2 million dependent on appearances and success.

Khedira comes into a new-look midfield now influential captain Steven Gerrard has left the Anfield outfield. He joins fellow new signing, James Milner to partner Jordan Henderson in the middle of the park.

Jesus Vallejo on the other hand signs from Zaragoza for a fee of £1.1 million. Vallejo signs as a 17 year old who only has 31 professional appearances behind him.

Would it be possible for you to give a link to this on the steam workshop?

So after strengthening the squad in the summer we began our pre-season fixtures.

We had a couple of challenging games against, Udinese, Schalke and BMG.

These pre-season game are pretty encouraging, scoring 16 goals in the 6 games and conceeding just 4.

The player of the pre-season would probably go to new recruit, Roberto Firmino who scored 3 goals and won man of the match twice. He was played out wide on the left and through the middle.

Nathaniel Clyne also had a very good pre-season and seemed to have fitted in very well, providing help by bombing up and down the right flank.

The only downside of this pre-season was the amount of injuries we picked up ...

View attachment 232792

The first injury we had was to Mario Balotelli who was ruled out for 2 weeks with a twisted knee.

Mario also had a decent pre-season scoring 3 times in this round of fixtures, his hold up and link up play were decent as well.

He'll miss the start of the season and probably miss the first 2 or 3 games.

View attachment 232791

The next injury we suffered was to fellow striker and new recruit, Christian Benteke who was ruled out for 11 days with a damaged elbow.

Benteke may also miss the start of the season and will probably be touch and go for the first game. We play Chelsea in the first league game in around 10 days time so it really is 50/50 whether he'll recover in time or not.

And finally ...

View attachment 232795

Probably the biggest loss is Daniel Sturridge who is ruled out for 6 weeks with strained knee ligaments.

I had a worry about Daniel's injury record and it hasn't taken long for these concerns to become reality. He'll without doubt miss the start of the season and will probably miss the first half a dozen games or so.

These 3 injuries couldn't happen in a worst position. This leaves us with Danny Ings and Divock Origi as the only recognised forwards in the squad, I hadn't really planned on using either that much this season especially from the start.

View attachment 232793

So with pre-season out of the way and most teams transfers done it was time to look at our fixtures for the upcoming season and how the pundits and bookies saw us getting on ...

View attachment 231512

Looking at these fixtures really makes you understand just how hard this league's going to be ...

We start with a home game against PSG which definitely isn't easy, followed by an away trip to English champions, Chelsea who will be tough to beat at their place.

View attachment 232788

So the pundits see us as a mid-table side this season, predicting us to finish in 12 place. The bookies also see it in a similar way by putting us at a massive 2000/1 to win the league.

My own target is finish in the top 10, although I know this will be really tough. To finish top 10 we'll more than likely have to finish above, Ac Milan, Dortmund, and Athletico Madrid - certainly not easy!

Jordan Henderson has today been officially confirmed as Liverpool Football Club's new captain.

Jordan takes the role permanently as he prepares to begin his fifth season at the club, now playing in the newly formed 'World League'.

Jordan has experience of captaing the side after he was named vice-captain last season to the outgoing Steven Gerrard.

He said: "I'm absolutely delighted and proud. It is a great honour and a huge privilege to be named as the captain of the this great football club.

"When Steven (Gerrard) wasn't in the team last season, I tried to do the best I could when I stepped in and took the armband. Now I'll be looking to carry that on and continue to grow as a captain, I learned of the best and now I need to show that I am the right person to lead this great football club.

Boss Brendan Rodgers also confirmed that Martin Skrtle would be vice captain and would take the captaincy whenever Henderson is unavailable for selection.
