Testing circumstances

All my tactics are 100% plug and play, I expect YOU to get a lot better results than I do. I see most tactic creators on here create a custom database, with no injuries, 100% fitness, 100% fluid tactic, etc etc, all under optimal conditions. This is perfectly normal, but causes some people to be disappointed because they aren't getting the same results (injuries happen, tactic isn't fluid, red cards, etc etc)
I try to mimic the absolute worst FM player possible. I let the game decide who plays, no teamtalks, no coaching, no nothing. I start with degradation candidates, work my way up to bigger teams. I use common positions in my tactics, making them useable for ALL teams.

Here are my conditions:
- QUICK PICK (quick pick a new lineup every new game using the button)
- Instant result (using the instant result skin)
- NO transfers
- Holiday until every new match

Note:
As you can see, I'm not even using the best players at the best positions, I'm not looking at attributes, players complaining of no game time (probably with good reason, get bombed straight into my squad etc etc)
All odds are against me, because I'm totally not playing the game and rushing throught the season.

The tactic needs quite some time to become fluid, because it is an awkward formation. Give it time.

The Anchor v1

The name choice was quite simple, the formation looks like an anchor but it plays like a 3133.
The two WB's move up and down across the entire pitch, in attack they'll cross, in defense they fall all the way back into defense, obviously you need fit, hard working, pacy wingbacks.
The WB's are the most important aspect of my tactic, as they make you have 5 upfront and 5 defending and combinate with your midfield.

To Do:
- Win more away games with poor teams (it's fine with big/mid table teams tho)
- Reduce yellow & red cards potentially causing losses

Changelog:
- tba

Results

Manchester United
- Won Premier League
- Won FA Cup
- 87 goals scored, 32 conceded
- Kicked out of CL quite fast due to red card in a knockout stage vs Roma :X, red and yellow cards are the main issue I need to tackle in my tactic (get the irony, tackle? tihihi).

29 Wins 6 Draws 3 losses

(note: all 3 losses due to red cards :x, same with many of the draws)

Leicester
- Capital & FA cup knocked out in semi finals
- 7th place

Overal not the greatest archievement, but all losses were tight, many red and yellow cards >_>. But remember, not a single transfer, quick picked and rushed my way throught the season, almost in playoff place (last game decided not to), media prediction is also like 20 or something?

FC Manchester of United (Media prediction 18th, promoted first season, no transfers!)
- 1st place league & promoted
(don't have screenshots, never saved the game)

If I forgot something, if you need questions, if you have any tweaks whatsoever, let me know!
I'm currently very happy with my results, bothered with the amount of yellow & red cards though.

Tested briefly (though without OI as I forgot...) and looked surprisingly solid defensively for an overload mentality. I had like 2 total shots on target against me in three games (three wins 1-0, 7-0, 2-0), though I must say my team is quite strong for their league (Toronto FC, third season in MLS). Very impressive nonetheless considering tactic was only 'competent' as I plugged it in.

Of course the attacking wingbacks with early cross intruction are a terror for this ME, in fact they constantly created tons of CCC's for the three attackers (and most of the goals). I was actually hoping to see other type of scoring chances, but I guess it will be for another match engine (I am almost sure that all goals I have scored or conceded with any tactic in FM16 came from a cross...)

Would you recommend particular attributes or PPM's for specific positions?

Not really, FM2016 is the first one I've played. I don't know any previous match engines, let alone this one.
All I care for are figuring out tactics that work, I hardly actively play the game lol. Atleast not in a fashion someone would call enjoyable. (for me it is ;p)

I don't know what PPMs would benefit my tactic or which attributes would really affect the tactic a lot.. I would assume work rate & fitness being the most important ones since I play overload (which I picked because I want to press high up the field, want to be constantly pressing & keeping the opponent gasping for air :D)

Can't help you with that one, hope someone else can though.

In your corner routine, the WBL is set to lurk outside the area. Can we change it to be another player lurking so that the WBL stays back? And also, is there a position who is supposed to take the corners?

thanks

no problem mate, tactic looks very promising! I'm becoming a bit frustrated with poor variety of current ME as any good/bad tactic I created/downloaded/tested seems to score and concede goals mainly from crosses!

loved your premise of mimicking the worst FM player possible, might be just me lol!

Any specific reason you're using Young instead of Mata as SS?

Do you use "Simulate" or "Instant Result"? Because there is two functions this year. Last year it was "Instant Result" only.

First of all,

I love your transparency. Your not trying hard to sell the tactic like a lot of others by using AMAZING RESULTS (from playing with Barca/Real and/or Bayern). I really like the "worst FM-type-player"-view instead of trying to create optimal surroundings because in the game itself there rarely are optimal conditions (as you mentioned).

Something I think other tactic creatoirs should look to do. Great work.

The tactic

Just played a handful of games using a big team in Sweden, Malmö FF, and the results are looking really good. Im surprised how good it is in defence despite the fact that your teams possession % isnt really that high and that the opposition do create a couple of chances every match.

So far: 4 league games played, 3 wins, 1 draw. 10 goals scored, 4 against.
On top of that ive played 3 cup games and one friendly (3 wins, 1 draw, 7 goals scored, 0 against)
So in total: 8 games, 6 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses, 17 goals for, 4 conceded

Really looks like a killer tactic but im gonna see how it will respond further into the season.

well i try it on 7th level of italy.....where the CA medium is 5 and PA around 40 ;)

at Corner routine, I copied mine from another tactic, haven't looked into routines yet so don't know what works best. Alter as you wish.

at Young, that's what quick pick does for ya. :D I've absolutely not looked at the players used.

Cant post screens as I'm writing from a different computer but here are my results so far:

19 wins, 3 draws, 4 losses. Majority of my wins är often 3 goals or more, a lot of the time with a clean shedt.

2 of the losses came at home which I find kind of strange, since its usually much harder to lose when you are playing at home. Fun fact is that 3 of the losses has been 1-0 defeats and the fourth came via penalties.

Too bad this years FM seems like its easier to get injuries, which has been the case for my players in pretty much all my saves.

Good results, would be happy to see screenshots here. :)

Was using different tactics from this forum for my Villareal team. They we're not bad tactics but i think they aren't suiting my team.

So after 6 games, 1 win, 4 losses and 1 draw, I gambled and switched to Anchor V1. Started using this tactic against Athletic. Currently with 50% familiarity. 6 games, 5 wins, 0 draws, 1 lost. 20 goals scored, 4 conceded. Looking good so far, lets see how things are at the end of the season.

Cheers OP.

Looking good Charko, tho you have a heavy schedule ahead of you, not sure how well it'll go without being 100% fluid, we'll see I guess :p

Loaxx

Besides from hard working WBs, what other types of general characteristics should one be looking for when buying new players? Are there any attributes in general that players should posses ? i.e High stamina, high work rate etc.

after that sweet run of wins, i've played another 6 league games, only 1 win, 3 draws and 2 losses.

did the AI figured the tactic out like all the other tactics i've used? am 100% fluid now. could be my strikers are just ****. alot of CCCs but they kick em straight at keepers, the woodwork or AI GK turned superhuman. :(

But that's a killer schedule you've played tho. 1 win 3 draws and 2 losses isn't bad vs those teams.
I'd say try to finish the season and see where you end up.

So you're 7-3-3 atm, and the tactic wasn't fluid + bad morale from losses etc etc

Back being unbeaten (6)
If I can maintain the morale, perhaps I can overturn earlier hiccups and atleast qualify for europa league (7th atm).

Going to stop playing for the day after that sweeeeet victory over Barcelona.

I'll update with screenshot after I finish this season. Probably tomorrow.

Thanks again OP! (K)

edit: btw i miscounted the last W/D/L stats, it was 2W, 2D & 2L for that 6 league games after beating Alaves.

Good job on demolishing Barca haha, I won them 5-0 as well with Manu on another save. I'm looking forward to your Real game.

Okay I'm done for the season. Not too bad for a mediocre team that I took over earlier this season. The team finished 10th last season which is why I was hired from PEC Zwolle.

Media prediction was 8th. Sad that I missed out on the Champs League spot, if I use this tactic earlier in the season, I could've got atleast another 3 points.

The match against Real Madrid. Had possession but sadly no finishing from my crappy strikers.

I've counted that I've played 38 matches using Anchor V1 (spanish cup included) resulting in 25W 6D 7L

All in all I think this is a pretty solid tactic for mid/europa league teams which is why I think I'm going to give this tactic another season before trying to Mahluk's. Going to aim for the champs league spot.
