Hello :)

Welcome to my 2nd Proper Story of Fm 16 with Portsmouth the rebuilding job being my first and another little experiment one that I posted yesterdauy

Now that I have finished my second year of uni woo! (bar one exam I'm being naughty :p)I wanted to do another story so I've decided to try and emulate Raneri's First season and win the Prem with Leicester city no transfers allowed 1st year!

I'll be using the winter update and will play as close as I can to raneri's tactic with 4-4-2 Apologies if anyone has made this into a story already I don't think they have anyway I hope you enjoy the read :)

Pre-Season!

Pretty good start, granted not the most difficult teams to face in the world but 5 wins and draws its nothing to be sniffed at!

I've managed to settle on a tactic trying to replica Leicester as much as possible.
Counter attacking football, long balls in over the top of course 4-4-2 and trying to keep things tight and compact as possible.

Vardy was superb during pre season and so was Schlupp putting pressure on albrighton for that starting spot. Sadly Huth is out for two weeks and Inier 7.

Arsenal 1st game of the season...

Game 1 Vs Arsenal

Here we go my first game in charge of the mighty foxes. I pretty much have my first XI sorted in my head and just like Raneri I want to play my best XI as often as I can. However today Huth is out injured so Wasilewski comes in just 35 years young...

Schlupp gets the nod instead of Albrighton due to his good pre season and I'm trying out Ulloa instead of Okazaki. Flat 4-4-2 with Mahrez pushing further forward might change him to a wide player at rm depending.

We are playing a narrow compact structured style and trying to counter with long balls to move the ball as quickly as we can, so I'm a little worried not only do Arsenal have a really good team they are bound to run at us at pace and stretch the pitch which might be our downfall. Anyway here we go!

Well this was an exciting start to the season!

Ulloa picked up an early injury and had to come off a dead leg it turns out...
Okazaki came on for him and had a great game scored a 30 yarder!

However it wasn't enough we conceded sloppy goals a set piece, a poor placed pass leading to an interception and two other goals. My high line cost us two goals, the idea with the high line is that it will compact the space keeping the gap between the midfield and defence as narrow as possible. The problem is however especially with Huth out, My center back pairings are pretty slow so when Sanchez managed to stay onside he just ran past them to be one on one with the keeper and you can guess what happened next.I think will change to slightly higher line to see if that works from now on.

On the plus side we were excellent going forward, vardy has such pace and schlupp played really well too. Just like the real Leicester we have started our season off being poor at the back.

Leicester lost 3 games in total this season so losing my first match is not a great start although in fairness one of the games they lost was for arsenal.

Bring on the baggies!

I need 82 points to beat raneri. 0 gained so far.

Yea boi!

So team was the same as before with the exception of Okazaki starting this time.
Comfortable win for us, they never really challenged us slightly higher line compared to high line seemed to do the trick, we kept things tight and hit them on the break.

Schlupp balls in to Vardy were sublime, who just headed them home. :)

Sunderland next!

Game 3 :(

Well this was hugely disappointing, we conceded early on from a good shot by Defoe and after that we never recovered. Danny Drinkwater had a really poor game but in fairness I had forgot to switch back to his preferred playing role after a 1-0 cup win against wycombe. Last 15minutes I went forward trying to find the equaliser and we conceded again :(

Hugely disappointing 2 of my 3 losses have already gone!

Game 4

Same formation for now, Vardy leads the line Okazaki just behind as a defensive forward, he's there just to support vardy really im not especially worried if he gets goals or not all about making those runs and putting pressure on those center backs to allow Vardy to run at that which against watford fairly slow center backs should help.

Mahrez on the right he's free from tracking back Leicester have the best work rate in the league not surprinsgly so team ethic, pressing and defensive work from each player is something im keen to exploit but mahrez will be free from this, as well because mahrez is mahrez so he can do his own thing because he's that good.

Im trying albrighton on the left this time he's more slightly defensive minded while Fuchs attacks more whose at left back while simpson doesnt get forward he stays back because mahrez does not track back so you have the balance and also allows mahrez who get into those attacking positions more. Huth morgan and kante and drinkwater in the centre.

It also occured to me despite schmeichel being better as a goalkeeper according to fm a sweeper keeper is really needed for me not to the same extent as neuer but because of the slow center back pairings and high line I'm putting Schemichel as a sweeper keeper as cover so he goes out a bit more in those one on one situations which makes it much harder for a striker to score as it reduces his time on the ball and means he has to fit it higher or wider to get past the keeper than a shot from far out.

What a match!
One pundit commented that this match should be taped and shown to any doubters of the beautiful game :p

Watford struck first weird goal cross from Ighalo lead to Amrabat heading inside the 6 yard box but scored by lobbing the keeper he was like 1 yard off his line!

then Kante equalised about 5 minutes later set up by vardy sweet strike
it was really end to end stuff chances for both teams but Kante managed to set up schlupp with a 20 yard assist who just placed it home before HT 2-1

Usually im assertive in team talks but inspired by raneri im going calm this season...

that is until 5 minutes later when a cross switching the play leads to Behrami unmarked scoring a sweet header leading me to yell at the lads how does raneri stay so calm haha

so its 2-2 i hold off making changes best teams out and I needn't be worried Vardy and Okazaski find the net in quick succession before we finally conceded just before the final whistle.

So no pizza for the lads haha but its a must needed 3 points and another game to learn from :)

Game 5

Everyone's fit, everyone's happy no real changes required my only concern is that Bournemouth are playing a 4-4-2 so we are going head to head but having said that we have the better team so yea...

Although what I will say is that Fuchs is getting a lot of assists pushing forward from that left hand side most of our goals are coming from him with crosses rather than long balls over the top with vardy to run on to which was my intention but hey ho I'll change to accumulate if we carry on the same way.

Gaining some momentum another win :) and a clean sheet so the lads can have some pizza!

Again most of our goals came from Fuchs pushing forward and getting that whipped cross in which suits vardy so so so much given his pace trick is just making sure we keep things tight but we were all over Bournemouth this time not even close haha!

9/15 so far good not great getting there though 9/82 just another 73 points :p

The saints are next!

Same as real life result!

This time I did make some more changes in terms of tactics bigger focus on getting the ball out wide, schemichel kicks now focused on getting the ball outwide now along with tactics. same team andy king is kicking up a fuss about playing but screw him lol hes no kante or drinkwater haha.

So the saints played a 4-4-1-1 formation and we just sliced it open like break on butter, more risky passes mean they dont come off that often but when they do its beautiful haha and vardy is so clinical and with his pace and the saints couldnt cope.

The defence held firm aswell keeping the focus on the basics limited roles, head the ball get the ball clear the ball all you need from the defence with the exception of fuchs who is a big asset to the team.

another win 4 on the bounce 12 points 5th in the league getting there...

Great result against Southampton; I always find them to be a hard team to break down.

To be honest I'm starting to think that this isn't a good story no transfers same team week in week out lol its a fun save for me but I might stop the updates and rename this story a do something else haha just finished year 2 of uni so got some time!

any ideas for a new save people?

Im thinking maybe a fixer story take over sacked managers but only stay untill the end of the year
