Anyone started with Rangers in the SPL? Any tips on who to sign and tactics etc?

Ive signed Knox from Livingston, I recommend him for the future

Sell Barton Kranjcar and Senderos the wages they save is superb I recommend Josh Meekings from ICT brilliant player I started with a 4231 but i have changed to a 4312 and I will be moving on MOH and Barrie McKay with a heavy heart. I also signed Knox who looks like a real talent

Everything is hunky dory but he is on 20K a week so he can F off lol

Cheers for this, ive had some success with 433 at home at 4312 away from home. However I'm still behind Celtic!!
I think its the players in my team though. I will be having a mass clear out in the summer!

I started one with my first save as i'm a Rangers fan.. started off really well. Signed Meekings and Diego Poyet and a few others.

I hit a bad bit of form and i was sacked.

I was playing 4231 and it became very frustrated.

Barton became unhappy because i wasn't playing him and it affected the full squad moral which was frustrating.

I was playing a 4231 and was conceding more than I was scoring so ditched it for a more attacking 433 which seems not too bad, John Mcginn has been a great signing

Signed Tobias svensson or something from Norway. Sold him 6 months later for a huge profit. Turned that into mcginn and Ryan Christie.

I figure the top Scottish clubs are shopping for players in the same places as Championship clubs in England. So I'd recommend two Swedish players for you:

- Kristoffer Olsson of FC Midtjylland in Denmark, for the M/AM(C) creative positions
- Oscar Lewicki of Malmo FF, for the DM/M(C) ball-winning positions

I imagine both would be affordable and happy to join Glasgow Rangers; they're both potential captains and I think they both already speak English, but check them in-game to make sure. They both have Wikipedia pages (from which I learn that in their youth, Olsson was at Arsenal and Lewicki was with Bayern Munich) if you want some real world background on them:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristoffer_Olsson
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Lewicki

In my journeyman FM16 save, I took Lewicki to Everton (got sacked when 1st in table due to boardroom takeover), Olsson to Sheffield Wednesday (promoted as runners-up) and then both of them to AFC Bournemouth (promoted via play-offs); the fact that I signed and re-signed them shows that I was happy with their performances and at Bournemouth they were my Captain and Vice-Captain for a while.

Other players who perform well at Championship level - and, I'm thinking therefore in the Scottish Premiership - include Zach Clough (Bolton Wanderers, False-9), Callum Slattery (Southampton U18s, Deep-Lying Playmaker) and - if you can get them on-loan - Patrick Roberts (Manchester City, AM(L)/IF(R)) and Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen, AM(R)/IF(L)).

Currently in my 3rd season with Rangers.

Won the treble first season (Mainly to Celtic throwing everything away)
2nd Season, Won SPL and Scottish Cup double - Got to the first knockout stage of the champions league.

First season signings were

Graeme Shinnie (£1.2m)
Alim Ozturk (500k)
Diego Poyet (Free)
Nikolay Bodurov (Free)
Josh Murphy (Loan)

All players were class especially Josh Murphy

I sold Kranjcar, Barton & Senderos right at the start to free up wages. Rossiter is brilliant, I play him as a BWM (S) along side DLP (D) Diego Poyet

I played a 4-2-3-1 most games switching to a 4-1-2-2-1 when I was struggling away from home. Garner playing as an Advanced Forward was class, keep an eye on Zak Rudden maybe get Garner to tutor him, in my 3rd season he's challenging Andre Gray (was out of contract) for my main striker spot and he's only just turned 18.
