Grew a little tired of all the strikerless tactics, so I decided to make a tactic which features a proper striker(False9). If you dont like the false9 role, then I'm sure a poacher, deep lying forward og maybe a trequartista will work as well.
Of course I wanted to incorporate my two favourite roles in this tactic; a Libero and an Enganche.
This tactic was created while playing a save with AaB(Aalborg BK), hence the name and I had great succes with it, so made a quick holiday test with Real Madrid and the level of points was great compared to some of my other tactics.

Here's the formation. I know it looks a bit odd, but it makes sense once you use it:

Here's the league table from the quick holiday test:

I dont use any OI's for this tactic, but feel free to try some or maybe have the assistant manager call the OIs.

When facing strong opposition away I often change mentality to counter and change Libero to support or even a Sweeper. Especially if you're a small team.

IMPORTANT: Since the wide playmaker is also your right wingback(kind of), he should have decent defensive skills as well. Preferably left footed with PPMs. Switches ball to opposite flank, tries killerball often. Libero should have PPMs Gets forward whenever possible, dictates tempo and dribbles through middle if possible(it'll make the role more of a Libero imo). The Wingback needs pace!! The Libero and the anchorman retains alot of possesion, so have a BEAST play as your anchorman. Good in the air, great tackle, strength etc.

Training. I train the players to the roles they play, but feel free to do it your way or maybe have the assistant manager handle it. With match prep i change between team cohesion and offensive movements.

Have fun

Anyone wanna test it for me?
I tried it last night first season for a couple of games until the end of August. Team: West Ham United with many long term injured players out (Cresswell, Ayew, Carroll, Sakho). The challenge with West Ham was to find players who fit the tactic.

I chose Fonté as libero, onluy because he had some experience with the role, but he's not ideal as he is neither a very good passer or dribbler. In the first few games he hasn't excelled offensively.

CD Winston Reid and BPD Ogbonna. Those two gave itself. Then I chose to use Obiang as anchor. Even if the role is mainly defensive I have seen Obiang spreading balls around, and he seems to work well. As right wide playmaker I started to retrain Mark Noble, because ha has best passing and vision in this West Ham team, and he also has good defensive skills. He has made som great passes, but I am sure he will become more effective as time goes on. The most standout role in the games i playes was the left wingback. In this case Masuaku. He was very involved and received the most 'man of the match'-awards.

As central attacking midfielder I used Lanzini, because of his dribbling skills. I haven't got an ideal enganche, but Fernandez can surely develop to be good in this role. All the wingers (Feghouli, Tore, Snodgrass) goes as attacking midfielders, and the forwards as false 9 (another role none of them are perfect for).

Even with a team destines for mid table ending, a lot of injuries and players who don't fit the system ideally I got some very good results. Especially defensively the tactic seemed rock solid, with more often than not the opponents having 2-3 shots and none goalchances. The goals I let in was from silly mistakes. Possession is 60-70% which is very good, especially since the tactic incorporates faster passing.

Offensively it was very nice to watch when it gelled between the players. Downside was that the goal amount seemed to end at 4-5 in the training matches against small teams, and we burned a lot of chances in the officical games. But; I am sure the unfamiliarity with the system and for several players the new positions has a lot to do with it, and it will gradually be better.

Very good tactic, Martino.

Thanx, man! Awesome. I made it with a top team in the Danish league, so it's always hard to see how it'll with work with a mid or low table team. Did you use the Libero on attack or support? Found it kinda hard to have the libero get high ratings, but i still think he's important to the tactic, getting in the way of alot of opposition counters along with the anchorman - hence the low amount of shots the opposition gets. I found it rock solid as well. The false nine needs to be a clinical finisher from my point of view. Was thinking of having the wide playmaker changed to attack, but i guess the tactic will be too vulnarable defensively, dont you think?

I used the libero on attack, but away to Chelsea (top club) I changed him to support. The concept of the libero is very exciting, but I think it needs a player with very good offensive skills to stand out in the game. Maybe retrain a 17-18 year old attacking midfielder with great dribbling skills and vision.

The wide playmaker will leave his side very open if on attack, so I think the roles you have given the players is spot on.

cool. The Libero role is hard to get right and ideally it works better when there's no other playmakers in the team, but I settled with playmakers in this tactic. Could be fun to try an offensive player who still is good in the air, tackling, positioning etc.

guess so, can see why it shouldn't work. Which team do you manage?

Haha, as an AaB fan it hurts too much to read that. Well they should be ?????? And in my long term save they have a fine team of local youngsters

Just wanted to say really liking this tactic. Plays some great stuff and defensively solid. possession football, had to change defensive set pieces as conceded 5 corners in 5 competitive games but since then really good. Any tips on what to do in a game where we just can't seem to break through?

may have found an answer. changed enganche to att mid attack with same instructions as other att mid. seems to be doing the trick!

Havent had problems with defensive corners, but i have some players who are dominant in the air, so maybe that's why. Might look into it. Am working on a version without playmakers to get the libero a little more involved. I think your enganche to att mid change sounds like a good plan when a little more movement up front is needed in games where the opposition park the bus.

I dont think changing wide playmaker from support to attack makes the tactic that much more vulnarable in defence. It's work a try as well if you need to open up a defence.

Champions with seven games to go. Been using this tactic most of the season but didnt start with the tactic so results can be even better. Sometimes I make small tweaks to keep the AI confused. Remember to change match prep to Team Cohesion from time to time - seems to work really well!

And changing mentality to very fluid seems to do the trick for me atm. Might worth a try for a full season test.
