Now I've spent 40mill on a 16yr old winger. Not all upfront tho. Now he's 17 and joining me at the end if the season yet hasn't progressed really at all. How's that make sense

Huh? What do you mean?

He hasn't joined you yet?

Too many factors in how a player will develop, thats always a risk when a player won't be joining until 18 when you spend a lot at 16

They have a good academy like me my players improve just playing reserve football a little so y won't there's. Il end up selling him before all the clauses make me pay some of the transfer

It's hardly game over at 18.

Academy produces the youth. Training facilities and coaches impact their development.

You said he was 16, now he's 17. That's one year. And unless you are tracking CA, he may have improved a bit its just not noticeable.

Edit - some newgens only appear as 18 year olds, especially in nations like Argentina. They aren't necessarily "high developed" 18 year olds, either. But still often turn into amazing players if they have the potential and the variables work out. No reason to panic yet.
