Hi, before I start this OP, can I please juts gte an answer on my question and not be moved to the thread about best roles for my players made by JP Woody(and I'm not havin' a go mate), it is a good idea in theory, but in practise it is not very useful as you dont get agreat answer as there is so many questions being asked.

But anyway, my main point. I am just wondering, what is the best way to play Riccardo Montolivvo. I am currently playing him as a CM with Axel Witsel (advice on him welcome too) and I would like to know how to play Montolivo in a way were he can boss midfield. Hope no one takes offence to opening paragraph, and please dont move me to that thread/ban me

if you are playing with two CM play him as an adv playmaker attack along side a ball winnning mid/defend to shield him.

if playing three same role but a cm deep lying pm support alongside and a DM def mid defend behind him

Cheers for that, I didnt mean to **** any one off with what I was saying, its just Ivehardly ever got an answer on that thread.

i play him as a advanced playmaked attack...he is truly amazing ...

and ..the second screenshot is taken 1 month later on my game.

This is a pic from my game against Bolton... I play him in defensive midfield as a deep-lying playmaker...

Finished this game with 70% possesion and 85% pass completion... Fair to say that Montolivo/Rodwell completely dominated midfield.

Could he be played as a deep lying playmaker?

Could he be played as a deep lying playmaker?

Absolutely, deeplying playmaker - support.

I tried him using this and he was simply faultless, can't get a screenshot though as my hard disk burned last month :(
