The demo for Football Manager 2006 has been released. It comes with a English quickstart and you can play it for 6 months. Please remember that this is a beta version and it still has some bugs. So if you want to download it please visit <a href="http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php?type=view&id=354" target="_blank">here</a>.

The demo is <b>47mb</b> and <b>62mb</b> for the PC and MAC demo's respectively. So after <a href="http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php?type=view&id=354" target="_blank">downloading</a> it and playing the 6 month period why not <a href="http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/click?p=20047&a=1029361&g=606309&url=http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=stcs3&page=title&r=PC&title=655245" target="_blank">pre-order it from here</a>, ready for the release on November 4th.

For one reason or another, my computer doesn't seem to want to download it and it comes up with page cannot be displayed. :(

Im not sure its worth downloading to be honest. The interface seems the same as 05 and I cant see much that will stand out in the demo. I may download it if someone here does and tries it out, then reccomends it, till then I supose Ill wait till it comes out.

I would recommend it, but only if you have a good computer because it takes a while to process all the fixtures on the English Quick Start.

I dont think im going to bother downloading it, ill just wait for full version and people to tell me about the demo

The link isnt working

Prob because of the amount of people who will dl it.

Yup, it's best to try it in the early hours as less people will be downloading it.

downloaded in a matter of seconds for me

seems good to me

obv going to be similar to 2005 and its not fully updated with the squads etc

but its not even a real demo - its just the beta of the deom lol so its in the very early stages

ahh Well is it worth getting then?

i still cant download it btw :(

The demo is too hard for its own good. I'm up for a challenge (Nottingham Forest to the premiership) but this is ridiculous. I found myself pleased with a 1-1 draw against Livingston with Chelsea. The game focuses on the team talk and, unless you say and do everything right, the game will undoubtedly end in failure. Add to that the fact that you can't let the assistant manager set the training regimes and you have the demo summed up. It mght be my stupidity as a manager but it seems as though SI want us to fail. I like everything else about the game, oh and another thing everytime a goal is scored it has to come from a mistake from an opposing player.

Yeh i found it hard to score but I eventually started to. The 4-4-2 seems to work best with passing focused down the wings.

Training is so simple on FM 2006, there shouldn't be any need to let your Asst do it :D

i did well with boro , playing diamond 4-1-2-1-2

bout 3rd in december

you cant let ur assistant do the team talks which i probs will as it will no doubt become annoying after a while

I am sure you can let your Asst do the team talks. Unless that feature got removed.

Im going to download it now, want to see exactly how good and involved the team talks are.

I remember previous demos of CM4 and onwards. These were very hard too and most of the goals scored were very very simlar and used to score a lot of offside goals too, Im sure SI will panned this out and serve us up some high quality gaming.

Well it's finally downloading :D

prob because it's 2.30 am but hey

Ill report back on my comments later

Yeah this feature is in it, go into the Manager options bit.

So far so good for FM06, apart from in my Newcastle team a few of the backroom staff seem to be playing staff aswell.

Can't have it all eh?

From what i have played i would say it's still an early stage demo. Alot of things to fix but it's looking good.I like the new way to look at stats :D

Will take a while to get used to team talks aswell.

Hence it being a beta demo :D

Whats the point of a Beta demo, I mean a demo is a preview of the game why would we want to test the demo. Im guessing that another demo will be released before the game is? I mean 60mgs just for a demo which is a beta sounds like a waste of time.

Beta - A version of an application that is made available prior to the official release for the purposes of testing.
