Can i use new Patch update in a Saved game?

Im quite new to the game and have just downloaded the 10.3 Jan update and patch,

I am currently one season in with man city and there are a number of players not available to me, such as taiwo, david luiz and a few others (When i search they dont come up any ideas?)

I was wondering if the Jan Transfers can be updated in the saved game somehow instead of having to start a new game?

No. For DB changes to take effect you need t start a new save

Any idea why all players arent coming up in my man city game then? Is that unchangeable, id rather continure with that but i want some players who i cant find

you have to load a larger database. maybe more leagues or maybe load a custom database e.g. load players from countries without loading leagues. these will all make your game slightly slower

can i do that in an existing saved game though if so how?

No, you have to start a completely new game to select new nations or new databases, as Jake pointed out.
