Why, hello there!

Right. I'm don't know a whole lot about football. I follow it casually, and I've given FM2010 a go. I've got a few seasons of other CM/FM games under my belt, but they were years ago.

So I have a few questions.

I'm managing Millwall.

1) If I am able to advance to Premier League, should I always do so? I remember a game I had in the past, where I immediately advanced, yet I got bollocked, and mid-season I got fired. Good for the club, but very bad for myself. Any thoughts?

2) How many players should I seek to have in my main team? I've got 11, + 7 subs, + 6 others. Is that a healthy amount? I kinda have to do rotations on positions, and is that really a good thing? I feel bad for the 2 GK's who never get to play... heh..

Let's say I have 1 good midfielder, and two decent, but not quite ones. Should I allow them to rotate the position at the cost of the good midfielder?

3) What is an "unacceptable" condition at like 70minutes? If a guy's at 60%, is that a good reason to replace him, regardless of his performance, and regardless of the quality gap for the replacement player?

1 -- If you're offered a job in the Premier League it's really up to you whether you accept. If your results are good with your new team and you hit the minimum board expectations then you shouldn't get sacked.

If you're at Millwall and you declare interest in other jobs that you probably wouldn't get in first season (e.g Manchester United etc...) then you might get sacked (usually takes more than one declaration / job application though.)

2 -- If you only want a small squad, I'd suggest aiming for 2 players in each position so that you have cover if injuries and suspensions take hold.

3 -- Again, this is personal preference. If I'm winning a match and don't look like losing I usually take players off around 70 minutes to give some a rest.

I agree with what Carine said .

Thou on number 3. If you see that your winning and have everything under control then take out your best players in order to save them from injuries and and let them rest a bit for the on going season

Thanks for the answers.

Regarding number 1, I meant, if I was able to progress to Premier League WITH Millwall. I'm not a mercenary. I'd never leave. If I get fired, I'll work my way back up to manager by cleaning the toilets at the Den. ;)

Got another question. If a player is consitently getting really low condition towards the end of the match, what is the best approach? Do I impede his stamina-progression if I deny him the full 90 minutes, or does that have 0 impact on player development?

nope, sub him he'll make mistakes and get burned. Do your heavy aerobic and strength training in the preseason. I use Tug's Traing schedule and just maxt it out. Once regular season comes around I move the slider to medium.
