Rooney playing off Berbatov

Afternoon,

Basically, I've trained Rooney to play confidently in Attacking Midfield, so that he is effectively playing off Berbatov who is the lone striker.

I think Rooney should be scoring/assisting more, but he seems to just be an average player. Berbatov goes through phases of scoring 2 p/game and then will go on some crazy drought for 400+ minutes.

So, how can I get Rooney and Berbatov to play effectively in the same team?

Settings
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Berbatov Setting: Target Man / Attack with ball played to feet
Rooney Setting: Inside Forward / Attack

Id play both of them in attack. Play Berbatov as a complete forward r deeplying foward on support duty rand Rooney as a Poacher or deep lying forward attack

push rooney back up to ffc, but make him complete forward support, set berbatov to pocher with maxmium CF, or try him as FC trequartista

berbativ doesnt not have the mentality of the work rate to play support role
 
Ok, after just drawing 0-0 with Newcastle at Old Trafford, it's time for a change!
 
Complete Forward Berbatov LOL he cant Header any barely take free kicks only complete striker on the game is David Villa and Didier Drogba ;)

wrong, rooney aguero dzeko kramaric can definitely play as complete forwards. ive used them all to great success

Hes got the creativity though.

And chapman7 David Villa isnt good enough i the air or strong enough to be a complete forward.

does matter, if he cant work hard enough to get into the right positions
 
Ok, so I am up against the mighty Swindon Town next.

I've switched to a 4-4-2 with AML/Rs.

How should I be playing my two front men? Currently, I am using Rooney as Complete Forward Support, and Berbatov as Target Man Attack, with ball played to feet.
 
and dont play with a targetman, united a balanced who do better when the ball is spread equally around
 
Deep Lying forward or complete forward both on support duties.
 
**** poor performance vs Swindon. I won 2-0, with both front men getting on the score sheet.

West Ham away now, Rooney as a Complete Forward Attack, and Berbatov as a Deep Lying Forward Support.

rooney complete forward support, berbs trequartista/complete forward attack if you must play him as one,
 
Just got Alessandro Del Piero as my Assistant Manager.

He thinks Berbatov should be offloaded @_@
 
Did i say he was? I was just making a comparison because he also plays a supportive role.

Esko how are Rooney and Berbatov doing now?

so why bring him up? complete forward support is complete differently to what riquleme does, he plays as a trequartista
eckso, try him as trequartista for a few games, before you sell (i never keep him to be honest, i end up moving for aguero)

I'm playing Rooney as a Defensive Forward, he scored a hat-trick vs. Boro in a 5-1 win, and I just got **** on by Spurs :(

Berbatov has had good ratings, but is yet to score in this new formation/role.

Any advice on how to stop Vidic getting yellow cards, and how to make my defence solid. I consistently concede atleast 1 goal a game and I dunno why.

My back line (on a good day) is:

Evra Vidic Ferdinand Rafael

I have bought in Renan and Subotic for the future.
